Step 1
Mix all the dressing ingredients together with a fork or a whisk until combined. Refrigerate until ready to use.
Step 2
Preheat a skillet or griddle to medium low heat while you assemble sandwiches.
Step 3
Butter one side of each slice of bread, flip the bread over and spread the dressing on the other side of each slice.
Step 4
Place a piece of Swiss cheese on top of each of the dressing sides, so each sandwich will have a total of 2 pieces of cheese.
Step 5
On one side layer a generous amount of warmed meat followed by your desired amount of warmed sauerkraut.
Step 6
Top with the other piece of bread with the dressing and cheese, keeping the buttered side up.
Step 7
Cook your sandwiches for about 5 minutes per side until the sides are golden brown and the cheese is melty. If it cooks too fast, lower heat. You want the sandwiches to cook for a while, so they get fully melted and warmed through.
Step 8
Cut in half and enjoy with pickles and potato chips.
