For crisp bacon without overcooking the scallops, I partially cook the bacon first before wrapping the scallops.

Air Fryer Bacon Wrapped Scallops

sea scallops (cleaned and pat dry with paper towels)

center cut bacon

toothpicks

olive oil spray

black pepper (to taste)

Preheat air fryer to 400F 3 minutes.

Place the bacon in the air fryer to partially cook 3 minutes, turning halfway. Remove and set on a paper towel to cool.

Remove any side muscles on the scallops. Pat the scallops dry with paper towels to remove any moisture.

Wrap each scallop in slice of bacon and secure it with a toothpick.

Spritz olive oil over scallops and season lightly with black pepper.

Arrange scallops in a single layer in the air fryer, cook, in batches 8 minutes turning halfway until scallop is tender and opaque and bacon is cooked through. Serve hot.

Bacon Wrapped Scallops

sea scallops (patted dry)

bacon (slices cut in half crosswise)

maple syrup

soy sauce

salt and pepper

parsley

cooking spray

Preheat the broiler. Coat a sheet pan with cooking spray.

Wrap a slice of bacon around each scallop and secure with a toothpick. Arrange the scallops in a single layer on the baking pan.

In a small bowl, mix together the maple syrup, soy sauce, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Brush half the mixture over the top of each of the scallops.

Broil for 10-15 minutes, or until bacon is crisp and scallops are cooked through. Brush the remaining sauce over the scallops halfway through the cook time.

Sprinkle with parsley, then serve.

These bacon wrapped scallops are marinated in a perfectly balanced sweet and salty marinade and baked to perfection!

Rinse and pat your scallops dry, place in a medium stainless steel mixing bowl

Add soy sauce, maple syrup, mustard and garlic paste and mix together

Place in a glass container with a lid and put in the refrigerator for 30 minutes, stirring once at 15 minutes

Preheat oven to 375

Line a jellyroll pan with foil, lay the bacon on the foil and bake for 8 minutes

Remove bacon onto a paper towel and blot the grease off

Re-line the jellyroll pan with foil

Cut the bacon in half and wrap a scallop in each half. Secure with a toothpick and line the wrapped scallops on the pan. &nbsp;Bake for 8 minutes and turn scallops and continue to bake for 7 more minutes

Place all the bacon wrapped scallops on a platter

Bacon Wrapped Scallops Recipe

sea scallops (thawed if frozen)

Kosher salt (to taste)

bacon ((16 slices))

hot pepper jelly ((1 jar))

Preheat

Adjust oven rack to upper-middle position and set oven to broil. Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil. Spray the foil with nonstick cooking spray.

Remove the side muscle attached to each scallop and, if necessary, cut the scallops to the same size. Pat the scallops with a paper towel.

Season

Place the scallops on a plate and season with kosher salt.

Cook

To ensure the bacon crisps and cooks throughout during broiling, it is necessary to parcook the bacon before wrapping the scallops. The most proficient way is to line a microwave-safe plate with 4 layers of paper towels and spread 8 bacon slices on top. Cover the bacon with 2 more layers of paper towels and microwave on high 1½-2 minutes or until the bacon fat begins to melt but is still pliable. Transfer the first 8 slices to the counter and repeat with the remaining 8 slices of bacon.

Wrap

Cut one slice of bacon (width and length) to fit around one scallop with just enough overlapping to secure with a toothpick. Place the scallop on the prepared baking sheet and repeat the process until all scallops are wrapped.

Top each scallop with 1 teaspoon of pepper jelly.

Broil

Broil the scallops 3-4 minutes, spinning around the baking tray after 2 minutes. The scallops are done when the edges of bacon have browned, the scallops are opaque and bounce back slightly when touched.

Serve

Transfer scallops to a serving tray and serve immediately.

Easy Bacon Wrapped Scallops Recipe

bacon (16-18 slices)

sea scallops (16-18 scallops; not bay scallops)

Diamond Crystal kosher salt

black pepper

butter (melted)

If using bamboo skewers, soak them in cold water for 30 minutes. I like to use short, 8-inch skewers that I get on Amazon.

Par-cook the bacon: Place two paper towels on a large microwave-safe plate. Place 4-5 slices of bacon on top. Cover the bacon with two more paper towels (to prevent splatters). Microwave on high until partially cooked but still pliable, about 2 minutes. Remove the bacon to another plate (be careful – the plate and the bacon will be hot). Repeat 3 more times with the remaining bacon slices.

Pat the scallops dry with paper towels. Season them on both sides with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

Wrap a slice of bacon around each scallop.

Thread the wrapped scallops on the skewers, three per skewer (four or five if using long skewers).

Heat your broiler on high (500°F). Place an oven rack 6 inches below the broiling element (not directly below).

Line a large baking sheet with nonstick foil. Arrange the skewers on the baking sheet. Brush the scallops on both sides with melted butter. Loosely cover the exposed edges of the bamboo skewers with foil strips to prevent them from burning.

Broil until the scallops are cooked through, about 4 minutes per side. How long you&#39;ll need to cook them depends on their size and how hot your broiler runs. Scallops are done when they turn from translucent into white but are still moist.

Serve immediately.

Scallops wrapped in bacon and brushed with barbeque sauce.&nbsp;

scallops (, dry packed and muscle removed)

toothpicks*

fine sea salt

smoked paprika

chives or scallions (, minced for garnish)

unsalted butter

Dijon mustard

garlic (, minced)

coarse kosher salt

flat parsley (, minced)

lemon (, juiced and zested)

Soak the toothpicks in water for up to an hour, but a minimum of 15 minutes.

Heat the oven to 400°F and line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper. Place the bacon strips on the baking sheet and cook for 10-12 minutes. Bacon should be partially cooked and pliable, but not crispy.  Remove and set aside.

Rinse the scallops, making sure the small muscle on the side is removed on them all. Pat dry.

Prep another rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper and increase oven temp to 425°F. Wrap each scallop with a strip of the cooked bacon, securing with a toothpick. Place on the baking sheet.

In a small bowl, combine salt, pepper and paprika. Evenly sprinkle on the tops of each scallop.

Cook for 10-12 minutes, or until the tops are lightly browned. *Cooking times will vary greatly depending on the size of scallop. See note.

Remove, garnish with chives and serve immediately.

In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Whisk in the Dijon mustard, garlic and salt. Allow the mixture to simmer for 2-3 minutes.

Bacon-wrapped scallops—marinated in an Asian-inspired soy sauce-and-orange juice marinade and then broiled until crisp and juicy—are the perfect throw-back cocktail party nibble.

Marinate the scallops.

In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, and orange juice. Add the scallops and toss to combine. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, up to 1 hour.

Preheat the oven

Preheat the oven to 425°F with a rack in the center position. Set a metal cooling rack inside a large rimmed sheet pan.

Wrap the scallops.

Working one at a time, lay a piece of bacon flat and add a water chestnut to the center. Tightly wrap the bacon around a scallop and water chestnut, overlapping the ends slightly. Pierce the overlapping bacon with a toothpick to hold the scallop in place. Place on the cooling rack inside the sheet pan. Repeat with the remaining ingredients.

Bake the scallops.

Bake the scallops for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy. For extra crispy bacon, turn the oven to broil for the last 2 to 3 minutes.

Make the sriracha aioli.

Meanwhile, make the sriracha aioli. In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sriracha, and lime juice until smooth. Store in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.

Serve the scallops.

Serve the scallops warm with the sriracha aioli on the side.
