Beef Tips with Rice and Gravy Recipe

1lb Sirloin Tip, Stew Meat

Beef Broth

Onion, medium sized, sliced

Tablespoon Bacon grease, butter or vegetable oil

Tablespoons Cornstarch

Salt and Pepper to taste

Rice

Place a medium sized sauce pot on medium heat.

Stir the meat and onions until the meat is lightly brown.

Add beef broth and bring to a rolling boil.

Cover, reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 1 hour or until beef is tender.

In a small bowl, mix Cornstarch with cold water, stir well.

Slowly add the cornstarch to the beef and broth, stirring constantly.

Simmer another 10 minutes or until gravy has thickened.

Run cool water in the pot, swirling the rice around until the water runs fairly clear.

Add needed amount of cold water back into the pot.

Place pot over medium-high heat and bring to a rolling boil. Cook for about 2 minutes then, reduce heat. Let rice continue to simmer on medium-low heat until most of the water has been absorbed.

Watch for small pockets to appear in the rice. Do not stir but watch it carefully.

Cover with a tight fitting lid and remove from heat.

Let the rice rest, covered, for about 10 more minutes.

Fluff the rice with a fork prior to serving.

Place a portion of rice on each plate, add a serving of the Beef Tips and Gravy. Enjoy!

This is the best recipe for beef tips and gravy with rice that I have had.  I have been using this recipe for over 2 years.  My grandkids love it.

This is the second time I have used this recipe and I only use the beef part as I cook my rice in an instant pot.  This second time around I have added fresh bell peppers and jalapeno peppers from my garden. It was amazing. Highly recommend this recipe!

Slow Cooker Beef Bourguignon has crazy tender melt in your mouth beef and hearty veggies slow cooked to perfection in a rich sauce. This meal is comforting and perfect for the cold months ahead!

Slow Cooker Beef Bourguignon

bacon (finely chopped)

beef

red cooking wine

chicken broth

tomato sauce

soy sauce

flour

garlic (finely chopped)

Tablespoons thyme (finely chopped)

Carrots (sliced)

baby potatoes (I used tri color)

mushrooms (sliced)

parsley

In a large skillet cook bacon over medium high heat until crisp. Put bacon in slow cooker. Salt and pepper the beef and add to the skillet and sear on each side for 2-3 minutes. Transfer beef to the slow cooker.

Add the red wine to the skillet scraping down the brown bits on the side. Allow it to simmer and reduce and slowly add chicken broth, and tomato sauce, and soy sauce. Slowly whisk in the flour. Add the sauce to the slow cooker.

Add garlic, thyme, carrots, potatoes, and mushrooms to the slow cooker. Give it a good stir and cook on low until beef is tender for 8-10 hours or high for 6-Garnish with fresh parley and serve with mashed potatoes if desired.

Homemade beef tips with mushroom gravy — as always with NO canned soups! My beef tips are ridiculously tender and easy to make in your slow cooker or instant pot. Serve beef tips over cauliflower mash, mashed potatoes, egg noodles, or rice!

Ridiculously Tender Beef Tips with Mushroom Gravy

½ teaspoon EACH: garlic powder AND sugar

EACH: onion powder, dried thyme, AND mushroom powder

SEAR: Season the beef with the flour, a...

SEAR: Season the beef with the flour, a big pinch of salt and pepper; mix well. Heat the butter in the instant pot on the sauté setting or a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. When it melts sear the beef in batches to form a brown crust, remove to a plate, and continue searing the remaining beef. Add the onions and switch to a wooden spoon. Sauté them for 1 minute, scraping the bottom of the pot to make sure no brown bits are left stuck on.

SLOW COOKER: Place 2 cups of beef stock...

SLOW COOKER: Place 2 cups of beef stock along with the remaining ingredients in the slow cooker (except the corn starch) and cook on high for 3-4 hours or low for 5-7 hours. 35 minutes before the cooking time is up, combine ½ cup of the liquid from the slow cooker and the cornstarch in a small bowl, whisk until smooth. Add to the slow cooker and allow for the food to cook for the remaining 30 minutes. If the gravy is too thick, add a few tablespoons of water to thin it to your desired consistency. If you still find your gravy is thin, add more cornstarch mixed with a tablespoon of water. Adjust salt and pepper to preference and serve over rice/mashed potatoes/cauliflower mash, etc.

OR INSTANT POT:  Place 1 ½ cups of...

OR INSTANT POT:  Place 1 ½ cups of beef stock along with the remaining ingredients in the instant pot (except the cornstarch) and select the meat/stew setting. Cook on manual high pressure for 35 minutes. Once the stew is cooked allow natural pressure release for 10-15 minutes. This gives the meat a chance to really soak up all those flavors. Click the ‘sauté’ setting. Dissolve the cornstarch with 2-3 tablespoons of water and add that to the instant pot once the liquid starts bubbling. Allow the sauce to thicken, about 1-2 minutes, stir to combine. If the gravy becomes too thick, you can add a couple more tablespoons of water to thin it to your desired consistency. Adjust salt and pepper to preference and serve over mashed cauliflower, mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles.

In a large skillet over medium high heat add the olive oil.  Salt and pepper the stew meat and add in batches to sear on both sides until brown, but do not cook throughtout.  Add the stew meat to the slow cooker.

Add the beef broth, dry onion soup mix, onions, mushroom, and garlic.  Cook on low for 5-6 hours or high 3-4 hours.

30 minutes before it is done cooking, mix together in a small bowl the water and cornstarch.  Stir it into the slow cooker and allow it to thicken.

Serve over pasta or mashed potatoes.

Beef Tips &amp; Gravy

In a large pot or dutch oven, heat 1 tablespoon olive oil over medium-high heat. Season beef with salt and pepper and brown in small batches. Remove beef from the pot and set aside.

Turn heat down to medium, add remaining oil and onion. Cook until softened, about 10 minutes.

Add beef, broth, soup, Worcestershire sauce and bay leaf to the pot. Bring to a boil, cover and reduce heat to simmer 1 1/2 to 2 hours or until beef is fork tender.

To thicken gravy, combine cornstarch with 1/3 cup cold water. Pour into the beef a little at a time while stirring until it reaches desired consistency.

Taste and season with salt and pepper. Discard bay leaf and serve over mashed potatoes.

These beef tips are steak pieces that are seared to golden brown perfection, then simmered in a savory mushroom gravy. A comfort food classic that&#x27;s easy to make, and the perfect dinner option that the whole family will love.

Beef Tips with Mushroom Gravy

sirloin

mushrooms (I used cremini)

garlic (minced)

Heat the olive oil in a large pan over high heat. Season the steak with salt and pepper to taste.

Place the meat in the pan in a single layer. Cook for 3-4 minutes per side until browned.

Remove the steak from the pan; cover to keep warm.

Melt the butter in the pan. Add the mushrooms and onions; season with salt and pepper to taste.

Cook the mushrooms and onions for 5-6 minutes or until tender and browned. Add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds.

Add the flour to the pan. Cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.

Slowly add the beef broth; whisk until smooth. Bring the sauce to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes until thickened. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce and soy sauce.

Add the steak back to the pan and toss to coat with the sauce. Cook for another 1-2 minutes or until warmed through. Sprinkle with parsley, then serve.

This one-pot Instant Pot Beef Tips and Gravy with Mashed Potatoes

recipe was truly a breeze to whip up, thanks to the instant pot. You have tender beef tips that are smothered in rich brown gravy, and then, of course, the creamy mashed potatoes help complete this soulful and hearty dish.

Beef and Noodles is an easy recipe that can be made with ground beef or beef tips in a creamy brown gravy with cream of mushroom soup and egg noodles.

Beef and Noodles

Salt/Pepper

egg noodles

chicken bouillon cube

soy sauce (can sub Worcestershire sauce)

onion powder

garlic powder

mustard powder

thyme

Tablespoons Butter

Tablespoons Flour

heavy cream (can sub milk)

(10.5 oz.) can cream of mushroom soup

cheddar cheese (shredded)

Prep Work: Combine beef broth, chicken bouillon, soy sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, mustard powder, and thyme. Set aside.

Cook the Beef and Onions: Cook the ground beef and onions over medium-high heat until browned and cooked through. Drain grease. Add minced garlic and season lightly with salt (if desired) and pepper. Cook for 1-2 minutes. Remove meat and set aside on a plate.

Begin Boiling Pasta Water: Begin boiling salted water for the egg noodles and cook the noodles according to package instructions once the boil is reached, then drain.

Make the Roux: Melt butter over medium heat in the same pan that you cooked the meat in. Sprinkle in the flour and whisk for 2 minutes or until you can no longer smell flour and it begins to brown

Add the Beef Broth mixture: Add about ½ cup of the beef broth mixture and let it come to a gentle boil. Add the remaining broth in splashes, stirring continuously. Do this slowly to keep the mixture nice and thick. Let it boil gently and reduce while the pasta boils, about 10 minutes.

Stir in the cream and cream of mushroom soup.

Reduce heat to low. Stir in the cheese, then add the beef back.

Add the cooked noodles and stir to combine. Note: If you like saucier pasta, you don’t have to add in all of the noodles.

Sauce will continue to thicken upon standing. Serve!
