Homemade Chili Seasoning is the best DIY spice mix and tastes great in everything from ground turkey and beef to vegan chili recipes.  This chili seasoning recipe has a secret ingredient, is naturally gluten-free, vegan, low-carb, Whole30, and Paleo, is super easy to make, and can be stored for up to a year!

Homemade Chili Seasoning Recipe

Tbsp. chili powder

½ Tbsp. cumin

paprika

cayenne pepper

garlic powder

oregano

cinnamon

black pepper

salt (optional)

Whisk together all of the ingredients in a small bowl until well combined.

Use 3-4 tablespoons of seasoning mix for every 1 pound of ground meat.

Make this Instant Pot Turkey Chili with it or store in an airtight container for up to 6 months in a cool, dry place.

I grew up marinating cucumbers, onions and tomatoes every summer as a side dish. Always a great side to a summer time meal.

Herby Whipped Ricotta With Pea &amp;amp; Walnut Pesto 

whole milk ricotta

unsweetened Greek yogurt

lemon

dill and fresh parsley

Parmigiano Reggiano, shredded or grated

garlic, roughly chopped

extra-virgin olive oil

salt and pepper

Add all ricotta ingredients to a food processor and blend until smooth.

In the same food processor, add all pesto ingredients and blend until smooth. 

Spoon the pesto spread on top of the ricotta. Garnish with additional olive oil, salt, pepper, and a squeeze of lemon. Serve alongside crusty bread and fresh vegetables.

Our easy affogato recipe is the perfect Italian-inspired summer dessert. This simple coffee treat can be made in just five minutes with two ingredients

<p>Several hours in advance, lay ice cream on a freezer-proof tray and put the tray back in the freezer.</p>

<p>To serve, put balls of ice cream into 6 small glasses or bowls, and pour a shot of hot espresso coffee over each. Serve straight away, stirring the vanilla ice cream into the hot coffee so that it melts a little.</p>

Panfried lamb shortloin with greens and greek lemon sauce

Lamb

Tbsp oregano

½ tsp Cracked black pepper

Garlic cloves, squashed

Tbsp Extra virgin olive oil

500 ml Chicken stock

Lemon juice, fresh

broccoli

g Snow peas, stalk ends cut off (Main)

Spinach leaves (Main)

Lemon, zest only

Put the lamb into a large bowl and add the oregano, pepper, garlic and oil. Mix well and leave to marinate for 1 hour.

Bring the stock to a very gentle simmer in a saucepan.

Put the egg yolks and lemon juice into a roomy heatproof bowl and beat well. Reserve.

Remove the garlic from the lamb and season the lamb with salt. Heat a frying pan over moderate heat and panfry the lamb for about 4 minutes on each side for medium (pink and juicy on the inside but cooked). Remove from the heat, place on a plate, loosely cover with foil and allow to rest while you cook the vegetables and make the sauce.

Bring a large saucepan of salted water to the boil and add the broccoli. Bring back to the boil and boil 3 minutes then add the snowpeas and spinach and boil a further 2 minutes. Drain well.

Bring the stock to a rolling boil then remove from the heat. Whisking continually, add the stock slowly to the egg yolk and juice mix. Pour back into the saucepan and place directly over moderate heat and stir until the sauce thickens slightly. Do not boil or it will curdle. Taste and season with salt.

Slice the lamb on the diagonal across the grain of the meat. Serve the lamb on the vegetables with the sauce over it and sprinkled with the zest and the rice on the side.

This dipping sauce is so good you're going to find reasons to use it. It's zesty from the brown mustard and Worcestershire sauce, creamy from the mayo, and a little zing from the chili sauce. Super easy to make and very flavorful, this a great companion to hot, crispy fries.

My son goes through a kick where he wants Hamburger Helper. I have a very hard time buying it. It just doesnt seem right to me. So, I did some research and came up with a blend that comes close to the nasty store bought. You can add any spices to suite your liking. I make up these packages and store them in the cabinet then any time you want, just brown the hamburger and make it like the box mix. Saves alot of money too!

This Mediterranean salad is full of summer goodness. Cucumbers and tomatoes are classic summer salad ingredients, but this takes that salad to another level. Frozen Gin &amp;amp; Tonic

lime simple syrup

Lime wedges,

Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until slushy and smooth. Serve in a chilled glass with a lime wedge.

For the cocktail:

Combine the sugar and water in a saucepan set over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is dissolved.

Turn the heat off, stir in the lime zest, and let sit for 20 to 30 minutes.

Strain into a glass jar and let cool. Store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks

For the lime simple syrup: 

If you have ever had jerk chicken you know it has a bit of heat. This sauce has all the flavors you would expect with quite the kick. Serve with rice and fried plantains and your guests will think they're at a Jamaican restaurant. It takes a little planning to allow your protein to marinate, but it's worth it.
