Recipe video above. This is garlic bread - on crack! Great to share with a crowd, or as a centre piece for dinner accompanied by a simple salad.

Cheese and Garlic Crack Bread (Pull Apart Bread)

Preheat the oven to 180C/350F.

Combine butter, garlic and salt in a heatproof bowl and melt in the microwave. Stir through parsley.

Cut the bread on a diagonal into 2cm/1" diamonds but do not cut all the way through the bread.

Use your fingers or a knife to pry open each crack and drizzle in a teaspoon of butter and stuff in a pinch of cheese. This might sound like a bit of an effort, but I promise you it is worth it! You don't need to be super neat, it's nice to have some of the butter drizzled over the crust.

Brush surface with remaining butter.&nbsp;

Wrap with foil and bake for 20 minutes until the cheese has mostly melted, then unwrap and bake for 5 - 10 minutes more to make the bread nice and crusty.

Serve immediately. (See note 1 for best make ahead methods)

sourdough starter (18 oz.)

water (8 oz.)

milk (8 oz.)

olive oil (1 oz.)

honey (1 oz.)

sharp cheddar cheese* (.75 pounds)

The morning of the day you&#x27;d like to bake, add to a mixer bowl the active (fed the night before) sourdough starter, water, milk, oil, honey, and flours. Mix for about 3 minutes with a dough hook. Let sit for 15 minutes.

Add the salt and mix with the hook for another 5 minutes. Cover the mixer bowl with plastic and set aside to rise until doubled, about 4 hours.

When the dough has doubled, add the cheese and mix with the hook until distributed through the dough.

Divide between two greased 8.5 x 4.5-inch loaf pans, smoothing the tops as needed (the pans should be filled halfway with the dough). Oil the tops and cover with plastic again to rise for 2 more hours or until the dough is at the top of the pans.

Heat the oven to 400 degrees. When hot, bake the loaves for 35-40 minutes, turning as needed for even cooking, until browned.

Cool for a few minutes in pans before turning out onto a cooling rack. Serve warm or toasted.

This sourdough cheese bread requires no starter required and is so easy! It tastes like it&#x27;s from a fancy bakery! Who can resist homemade cheesy bread?!

Add sour cream as needed to form a very moist and wet dough. If it’s at all dry or crumbly, add more sour cream (or Greek yogurt) until it comes together. I used one-17.6 ounce tub of Greek yogurt and almost 1 cup lite sour cream. Dough will be seem like it’s almost too wet and it’s very heavy, but this is what you want. Err on the side of wetter than drier because flour and yeast love moisture when rising.

If you want to start this before work or before bed and made as an overnight dough and it’ll go 8-10 hours, that’s fine (I started it before bed and finished in the morning). There’s really no harm in letting it rise for up to 18 hours and the longer you let it go, the more of a classic sourdough/fermented flavor that will develop. Pão de Queijo | Brazilian Cheese Bread is a gluten free bread / roll made with Tapioca flour, egg, milk and cheese. This can be made in under 20 minutes and is perfect for Breakfast, Brunch or snack.

Pão de Queijo | Brazilian Cheese Bread

Tapioca flour

Milk

In a blender jar or a food processor bowl, add the tapioca flour, milk, oil, salt and egg.

Pulse it a few times to blend it into a smooth batter.

Add the cheese and just do couple of small pulses to combine everything.

Fill each hole halfway with the batter. This allows plenty of space to let the bread puff up.

Bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes until the bread is crusty on the outside and lightly browned. Mine took only 15 minutes to bake.

Remove the pan from the oven and let it sit for couple of minutes in the pan. Carefully remove the Pão de Queijo in a bowl and serve warm.

Little Caesar's Italian Cheese Bread is one of our favorites! This is my copycat version of it!  Made from scratch and ready in under an hour! This cheesy garlic bread will have you ditching the take out and making it yourself!

Copycat Italian Cheese Bread Recipe

(2 1/4 tsp) Active Dry Yeast

Sugar

Cup Warm Water

Tbs. Olive Oil

Cups Flour

Cups of pre-shredded Italian Blend Cheese

Tbs. Butter

Italian Seasoning blend

Dissolve the yeast with the warm water and sugar in your mixing bowl.   Let stand to activate for 5 minutes.

Add the olive oil, salt and 2 cups of flour.

Mix together and knead until a sticky dough forms.  It will be a softer dough and won't come together in a firm ball.  Add more flour if you need.

Cover the dough and let rise until doubled, about 20 to 30 minutes.

Line a 9x13 baking dish with tin foil and spray with non-stick cooking spray.

Lightly press the risen dough into the prepared baking dish and cover to let rise for 10-15 minutes while your oven preheats.

Once your oven is preheated sprinkle the 2 cups of italian cheese blend evenly over the dough.

Bake at 400 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes.  The cheese will be mostly golden brown.

Melt the butter and brush it across the top of the hot cheese bread.

Sprinkle garlic salt across the top.  We like a generous amount.

Sprinkle the italian seasoning across the top.

Lift the hot cheese bread out of the baking dish and place it on a cutting board.

Slice into 12 pieces with a pizza cutter.

Delicious!!! Is there a way to possibly freeze the dough at some point to make it easier for quickly making for dinner?

These are really good. The dough is impossible to press into the pan due to being so sticky, but the bread comes out so soft. I oiled the pan so the bottom would develop a golden crispy crust. They were perfect.

I made this today. I wasn’t sure about that very slack dough, but it turned out great. Delicious!

In a large mixing bowl, with something basic like a wooden spoon, combine the flour, salt, and yeast together until mixed. Stir in the water and olive oil until a chunky, thick dough forms. If it needs a little more water, add just a few more tablespoons. Gently stir in the cheese. It’s gonna look scrappy and weird and you’re going to question me, but just you wait.

REST

That&#8217;s it. You don&#8217;t have to touch a thing. Just cover the mixing bowl with plastic wrap, or a towel, and let it rest for 12-18 hours at room temperature. Overnight is ideal.

Stir up a dough - with a wooden spoon is perfect. Work a little cheese in there. Cover and let it rest.

When it&#8217;s baking time, preheat the oven to 450. Stick a 6 quart Dutch Oven (or similar) in the oven for about 30 minutes to preheat. At this point, the dough should be big and puffy and pretty loose, with little bubbles in it. Gently scrape the dough out onto a well-floured surface. (Remember: NO KNEAD.) Gently shape it into a ball with flour on the outside, set on a piece of parchment, and wait for your pan to heat up.

Now it's puffy and loose, so just roll it out and onto a piece of parchment. Bake it in a Dutch Oven with a tight-fitting lid, and finish without the lid to get it browned.

Lift the dough and parchment together into the pan. Bake, covered with a tight fitting lid, for 30 minutes. Remove the cover and bake another 10-15 minutes to get the exterior nice and golden brown and crispy. Now start breaking chunks off, admiring the cheesiness, spreading with butter and salt, and dunking in all your best soups. THIS IS LIVING!

Tear into it. Dunk it. Butter it. Butter and salt it. Dunk it again. Impress your friends and family because you are a now a person who makes homemade cheese bread.

Why do we add olive oil for the cheese version? Will it work ok without it? We just made the regular type today, and it was super!  BTW, I used active dry yeast and it worked great.

Oh, my, but this is SO good. If one has little time today but even less time tomorrow, this is the perfect solution. Warm, crusty without being hard, and oh so fabulous with sharp cheddar. Thank you!! As an aside, I use a pizza screen in my Dutch oven when I bake bread, as I prefer having a slightly softer bottom crust. Otherwise, I made it exactly as written. My Facebook feed now features your bread, along with photos of the side of the bread after being sliced to show off its nice, even crumb.
