These creamy chicken taquitos are the real deal. Baked, not fried - easy to make, super delicious, and freezer friendly.

Baked Chicken Taquitos

oz cream cheese (softened)

salsa

Tbs lime juice (freshly squeezed)

tsp prepared chili powder

tsp cumin

onion powder

garlic (minced)

Tbs cilantro (chopped)

onions

chicken (shredded)

Monterey jack cheese (shredded)

flour tortillas (soft taco sized)

Tbs vegetable oil

Preheat the oven to 425˚F.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Mix together the filling ingredients in a large bowl until thoroughly combined

Heat the tortillas in the microwave until soft and pliable, and keep warm (I use a tortilla warmer)

Spoon filling down the middle of each tortilla and roll up tightly.

Place seam-side down on a baking sheet and repeat with remaining filling/tortillas.

Brush the taquitos with vegetable oil and sprinkle with a pinch of kosher salt.

Bake 15-20 minutes, until crisp and golden.

Devour.

To prepare and eat immediately

Place the baking sheet in the freezer and chill until taquitos are frozen.

Transfer to a freezer safe zip top bag, and place back in the freezer.

To Freeze

Remove desired number of taquitos from the freezer and place on a parchment paper lined baking sheet.

Bake for 20-25 minutes until crisp and golden.

These easy oven baked taquitos make a great appetizer or meal! We like to serve them with sour cream, guacamole, salsa, pico de gallo, lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese!

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Spray a large baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray and set aside.

In a medium bowl, combine the shredded chicken with the cumin, chili powder, salt, garlic powder, paprika, and fresh lime juice. Stir until chicken is well coated with the seasonings. Stir in the shredded cheese.

Get two paper towels damp and place two tortillas at a time in between the paper towels. Place in the microwave for 20-30 seconds. Remove from the microwave and roll up the taquitos.

Place a heaping tablespoon of the chicken and cheese mixture in the center of the tortilla and roll it up tightly. Place the tacquito, seam side down on the prepared baking sheet. Continue rolling taquitos until the tortillas and filling are gone. You should have about 20 taquitos.

Spray the taquitos generously with nonstick cooking spray. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until taquitos are golden brown and crispy. Remove from the oven and serve warm with desired toppings.

Chicken Taquitos

avocado,

1 juice only

1 onion, chopped

jalapeño pepper, seeded and chopped

(340 g) cooked chicken, coarsely chopped

(100 g) Tex-Mex cheese, grated

2 onions, thinly sliced

10 soft wheat tortillas, 6 inches (15 cm) in diameter

tbsp (30 ml) canola oil

Iceberg lettuce, thinly sliced

Homemade or store-bought salsa

Sour cream

In a bowl, crush the avocado with a fork. Add the lime juice, green onion and jalapeño. Season with salt and pepper. Mix well. Set aside.

In another bowl, combine the chicken, cheese and green onions. Season with salt and pepper. Using your hands or a wooden spoon, vigorously mix to form a sticky paste.

On a work surface, lay out a few tortillas at a time. Place about 3 tbsp of the chicken mixture in the centre of the bottom half of each tortilla. Roll up each tortilla, pressing down slightly. Hold the rolled tortillas closed with a toothpick or thread 5 tortillas side-by-side onto a long skewer. If the filling falls out either end, simply pack it back inside the tortilla. 

Heat the oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium heat. Place half of the tortillas at a time in the skillet and cook until golden, about 2 to 3 minutes each on two sides. Carefully remove the toothpicks or skewers and cook on the other two sides until nicely golden. Drain on paper towels. Cook the remaining taquitos, adding oil as needed.

Place the taquitos on a serving dish. Top with the lettuce and serve with the guacamole, salsa and sour cream, if desired.

Excellent! Poulet mariné au jus de lime et Tabasco avant cuisson. Le truc des brochettes pour manipuler les taquitos est très astucieux.

Slow Cooker Cheesy Chicken Taquitos Recipe

boneless, skinless chicken breasts (2-3)

taco seasoning (1 packet)

cream cheese

water

flour tortillas

butter

Place chicken breasts in a slow cooker and cover with taco seasoning. Add cream cheese and water.

Cook on high for 4-6 hours on high, 6-8 hours on low.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Shred chicken with two forks in your slow cooker, then add cheddar cheese. Stir to combine.

Place a small amount of chicken mixture on each tortilla, then roll each tortilla up, placing them seam-side down on a baking sheet.

Brush each taquito with melted butter, then bake for 8-12 minutes until edges start to golden.

Serve warm with salsa for dipping.

How to Make Slow Cooker Cheesy Chicken Taquitos

These tasty Roasted Chicken Verde Taquitos have tender rotisserie chicken, creamy cheese, poblano pepper, green onion, corn, spices and super flavorful Roasted Tomatillo Salsa Verde.

Roasted Chicken Verde Taquitos

cream cheese (, room temperature)

cheese

salsa verde (,

plain non-fat Greek yogurt

poblano pepper (, diced)

cilantro (, chopped, plus more for garnish)

cayenne pepper ((optional))

lime (, zest and juice)

rotisserie chicken (, shredded)

corn (, thawed)

flour

Cooking spray

Salt and pepper

queso fresco, chopped cilantro, lime wedges)

Preheat oven to 425°F. Line a large, rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, using a hand mixer mix together the cream cheese, shredded cheese, salsa verde, yogurt, poblano pepper, green onions, cilantro, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne, lime zest and juice until well combined.

Fold in chicken and corn. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

Fill each tortilla with about 3 heaping tablespoons of chicken filling, and roll up.

Place the taquitos seam side down on prepared baking sheet and spray them with cooking spray. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Bake 15 minutes in preheated oven or until the tortillas are lightly browned and cheese is bubbling at the ends.

Baked Cream Cheese Chicken Taquitos

chicken (cooked and shredded)

Tablespoon green onion (finely chopped)

Preheat oven to 425 and prepare a baking sheet by lining it with foil and spraying it with cooking spray. Set aside.

Soften the cream cheese in the microwave for about 15-20 seconds. In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, salsa, cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, lime juice, and salt. Add in the shredded chicken, colby jack cheese, green onions, and cilantro. Stir until combined well.

Add about 3 Tablespoons of the chicken mixture about 1 inch from the edge of the flour tortilla. Roll it up and place it seam side down on the baking sheet. Repeat with each one and place about 1 inch apart not touching each other on baking sheet.

Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the tortilla is lightly browning around the edges. Serve with sour cream, ranch, or your favorite sauce!

Cream Cheese Chicken Taquitos

chicken breasts

olive oil

coriander

cream cheese, (softened)

green chiles

black beans,

whole kernel corn, (drained and rinsed)

fine salt, (to taste)

olive oil ((or cooking spray))

Preheat oven to 350°F. In a large bowl or ziplock bag, add chicken breasts, olive oil, salt, coriander, chili powder and garlic powder. Toss together to coat.

Place coated chicken on a large baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until fully cooked. Remove chicken from oven and shred chicken with a fork and knife. Taste and season with more salt if needed.

For the chicken

Raise oven temperature to 425°F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.

In a large bowl, add the shredded chicken, cream cheese, green chiles, black beans, corn and chili powder. Mix together using a hand held or stand mixer. Taste and season with more salt if necessary.

Heat the tortillas in the microwave in 30 second increments until they're warm and pliable. Place the warm tortillas in a tortilla warmer or cover with a cloth towel to keep them warm.

To assemble, lay the tortillas on a work surface and fill the bottom third of each tortilla with the chicken mixture. Roll the tortillas up as tightly as possible and lay on a baking sheet seam side down.

Lightly brush or spray the taquitos with olive oil. Sprinkle with some sea salt and bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges of the taquitos are golden brown and crispy.

Serve topped with chopped onions, lettuce, red salsa, cotija cheese, sour cream, limes or your favorite dipping sauce.

Working with a few tortillas at a time, heat them in the microwave between two paper towels until they are soft enough to roll (about 10 seconds).

Spoon 3 tablespoons of the chicken mixture onto the lower third of a tortilla. Roll the tortilla tightly.

Place the rolled tortilla seam side down on the baking sheet. Repeat with remaining tortillas until the mixture is gone, making sure the taquitos are not touching each other.

Spray the tops lightly with cooking spray and sprinkle with a little kosher salt (don’t skip the salt!)
