This cinnamon roll casserole made with Pillsbury cinnamon rolls is THE MOST POPULAR recipe on my whole site. Why? Because it&#39;s a delicious, easy to make breakfast casserole. Perfect for holidays and weekend mornings. Tastes like gooey, baked cinnamon French toast with icing!

Easy Cinnamon Roll Casserole

tubes Pillsbury cinnamon rolls (12.4 oz each)

butter (melted)

eggs

heavy whipping cream

tbsp flour

cinnamon

tsp nutmeg

tsp vanilla extract

pecans

cinnamon rolls

Powdered sugar or maple syrup (if desired)

Melt butter and coat a 9x12 baking dish with the melted butter (There will be extra, that's OK)

In a bowl, beat together eggs, cream, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla.

Open canned cinnamon rolls, slice each cinnamon roll like a pizza, into eighths. Place cinnamon roll pieces into the bowl of egg mixture and toss to thoroughly coat. Then pour the pieces, coated in egg mixture, into the greased baking dish and spread out evenly. Any remaining egg mixture, you can pour or brush over top of areas that look like they might get dry. Sprinkle with pecans (optional)

Bake in the oven at 350˚for 18-25 minutes or until light golden brown. Smaller, deeper pans may require additional bake time. Type of cinnamon rolls used can also vary cook time. Best to keep an eye on things and check one of the middle pieces to be sure dough is set before removing from oven.

When all dough is set, remove the french toast bake from oven. Warm icing from cinnamon rolls in microwave for 15 seconds; pour evenly over cinnamon roll pieces. Sprinkle with powdered sugar or top with maple syrup if desired. Serve warm. Enjoy!

This recipe is actually really good with a couple of small adjustments. I used 6 eggs, 3/4 cup of milk, and added 4 tablespoons melted butter. I let the mixture sit overnight so it soaked into the rolls and baked it the next morning. Making it the night before was really great because it's less work the next morning! I added the frosting to the top after baking while they were still super hot.

Tried it. I don’t think I’ll make it again. Too mushy and cook time and temp has to be a mistake. No way it would cook. Had to leave it in longer and eat still undercooked.

Temperature has got to be a mistake.  I had to cook it an extra 30 minutes before it even started to solidify.  And yes, my oven is new so that definitely wasn’t the problem.  After it finally did cook, everyone really liked it.

Ok so I did this today and took what everyone said.  So I did 400 degrees for 20, added the egg mixture.  But after 15 minutes I used a spatula to flip the bread so it doesn't  burn. I'm thinking, you don't really need the egg mixture. On the plus, my kids love it. I make fresh baked goods every Sunday.

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

Spray a 3 qt casserole dish with non-stick cooking spray and set aside.

Cut each cinnamon roll into 4 pieces and add them all to the prepared casserole dish

Melt butter and pour over the cinnamon roll pieces

Mix the brown sugar and cinnamon in a separate bowl then sprinkle over the top of the buttered cinnamon roll pieces like a crumble.

Cut up apples in the filling and place them in a bowl, add lemon juice and mix together

Add the diced apples and filling over top of the crumble, then the pecan halves.

Use a spoon to mix these into the casserole a bit to incorporate.

Bake for 40 minutes, covered then uncovered for another 3-5 minutes or until golden brown on top. (Be careful while browning because pecans can burn quickly when on top)

Place all the icing in a microwave safe bowl and melt slightly for 10 seconds.

Drizzle the warm icing over the casserole and serve warm!

Spray baking spray in the liner of the slow cooker. Set aside.

Open the cinnamon roll cans. Separate all the cinnamon rolls.

Cut each roll in quarters. You should have 64 pieces of cinnamon rolls.

Spread evenly the cut cinnamon rolls into the slow cooker liner.

Pour the cooled butter over the cinnamon rolls. Set aside.

In a medium size mixing bowl, add the eggs, brown sugar, whisk until combined.
