Recipe video above. Sticky, savoury and sweet, this is the marinade I use for grilled chicken that I know is a guaranteed hit with everyone, kids and adults! It tastes like a country-style rub, and it&#039;s finger licking&#039; good.

Sticky Grilled Chicken

700 grams/ 1.4lb chicken thighs (, skinless boneless (Note 1))

ketchup

brown sugar (, packed)

soy sauce (, all purpose

tbsp apple cider vinegar

olive oil

Worcestershire Sauce

garlic (, minced)

Mix Marinade in a large bowl.

Scoop out 1/2 cup and reserve for basting (&quot;Glaze&quot;).

Add chicken, turn to coat. Marinade overnight (minimum 3 hours, up to 48 hours, or freeze).

Brush BBQ with vegetable or canola oil, then preheat to medium.

Pick up chicken, allowing excess Marinade to drip off.

Place on BBQ, cook 4 minutes until nicely caramelised.

Turn chicken, then brush generously with Glaze. Cook 4 minutes.

Flip, brush with more Glaze, flip again and brush with Glaze.

Remove chicken onto plate, cover loosely with foil.

Rest 3 minutes before serving, sprinkled with parsley if using. Pictured in post with Macaroni Salad!

Grill:

Stove - follow up steps in a non stick pan, heated to medium high with 1 tbsp oil (cook in batches if needed).

Grilled tequila lime chicken served with fresh mango salsa is a perfect meal&nbsp;for warm summer nights. Each piece of lean white meat is glazed with a honey-lime mixture for enhanced flavor.

Tequila Lime Chicken with Mango Salsa

tequila

lime juice (plus zest)

garlic (minced)

cumin

smoked paprika

Whisk all marinade ingredients together; tequila, 2 tablespoons lime juice, zest, garlic, cumin, paprika, salt, chili powder, black pepper, and olive oil.

Place the chicken in a resealable plastic bag just large enough to fit.

Pour marinade over the chicken, turning to coat. Remove any air from the bag and seal.

Allow chicken to marinate for 20 to 30 mins at room temperature or 1 hour refrigerated.

Marinade

Combine in a small bowl, 2 tablespoons honey and 1 tablespoon lime juice, set aside.

Glaze

In a medium-sized bowl combine mango, tomato, avocado, red onion, lemon zest and juice, jalapeno, and cilantro.

Cover and refrigerate until ready to use.

Mango Salsa

Heat grill to medium-high. Add a small amount of vegetable oil on a folded piece of paper towel, and then carefully grease the grill grates with the oil.

Once the grill is nice and hot, add the chicken breasts and discard the marinade.

Cook until no longer pink (160-165°F), about 4-6 minutes on each side, depending on the thickness.

After flipping the first side, brush the glaze onto the chicken.

Remove the chicken from the grill and transfer to a clean plate, cover to keep warm.

Brush more glaze on the chicken before serving and top with mango salsa.

Grilled Chicken

The absolute best Grilled Chicken Marinade recipe! This easy-to-whip-together marinade will become a summer staple. This marinade creates ridiculously great-flavored chicken and keeps it super moist.

Grilled Chicken Marinade

1 and 1/2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts

vegetable oil

+ 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce

Worcestershire sauce

red wine vinegar

black pepper ((use 1 teaspoon if sensitive))

Italian flat-leaf parsley, (finely minced)

mustard

garlic

honey (divided)

butter

lemon juice lemon zest

MARINADE: Combine 3/4 cup vegetable oil, 1/4 cup + 2 tablespoons soy sauce, 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce, 1/4 cup red wine vinegar, about 3-4 tablespoons lemon juice, 1 teaspoon lemon zest, 1/2 tablespoon black pepper, 2 teaspoons minced parsley, 3 tablespoons yellow mustard, 1-2 teaspoons minced garlic (for a more intense flavor use 2), and 1 tablespoon honey in a large bowl.

RESERVE: Set aside 1/3 cup of the marinade and save it for basting later.

PREP CHICKEN: Remove fat from the chicken and pound the chicken to an even width (about 1 inch wide everywhere.) If breasts are very thick, cut them in half to get them 1 inch thick. Prepping the chicken like this will ensure even grilling and make sure more chicken gets all those great marinade flavors.

MARINATE: Place the chicken in the marinade and marinate for at least 30 minutes to 6 hours. The chicken is best at 4-6 hours. Too much longer and it tends to get salty/cooked by the vinegar and lemon.

PREP GRILL: Make sure your grill grates are clean and greased. To grease, dredge a paper towel in vegetable oil and holding it with tongs, rub it all over the grate. Grease, once the grill has been preheated to about 375-450 degrees F. Don&#039;t go hotter than 450 to avoid drying out the chicken.

GRILL: Grill the chicken until completely cooked through (about 4-6 minutes per side depending on the heat of the grill and thickness) Chicken should register 160 degrees F at its thickest part (carry-over heat will bring it to 165 degrees). For 1-inch-thick breasts grilled at 400 degrees, it takes generally 5 minutes on the first side and 4 minutes on the other side.

BASTE: Generously brush chicken with the reserved marinade mix as it grills. Keep grill closed as much as possible though.

OPTIONAL: For a quick lemon-butter sauce to serve over the chicken, combine 3 tablespoons melted butter, 3 tablespoons lemon juice, 1-2 teaspoons lemon zest, 3 tablespoons olive oil, and 3 tablespoons honey in a small bowl. Add some pepper and parsley if desired. Serve with the chicken.

Grilled Chicken Breast

Place the chicken breasts on a cutting board (leave several inches between them and work in batches as needed). Cover with plastic wrap to keep things tidy, and with a meat mallet, rolling pin, or your fist, pound the chicken an even thickness. It doesn&#039;t need to be ultra thin—just make sure the middle is fairly even with the ends (the chicken will be about 1/2-inch thick).

Poke

With a fork, poke holes all over the chicken (this will allow the marinade to absorb).

Combine

In large ziptop bag, combine all of the marinade ingredients, then add the chicken.

Marinate

Seal the bag to evenly coat the chicken with the marinade. Place in a pan or bowl to catch any drips. Let the chicken marinate at room temperature for at least 30 minutes, or refrigerate it to marinate for up to 8 hours (5 to 6 hours is ideal). Even 15 minutes is better than nothing!

Preheat

When ready to grill, preheat the grill to high (475 degrees F). If your chicken has been in the refrigerator, remove it and allow it to come to room temperature for at least 10 minutes. Clean and oil the grates.

Grill

Place the chicken on the grill presentation (smooth) side down, shaking off any excess marinade. Cover the grill and let cook 4 to 5 minutes on the first side, then flip. The chicken should lift easily off the grill; if it is sticking, allow it to cook another minute or two.

Recover the grill and cook on the other side for 4 to 8 additional minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through (chicken is considered cooked at 165 degrees F. I remove mine around the 155/160 degree F mark and allow the carryover cooking to finish the rest). DO NOT OVERCOOK or your chicken will be dry.

Rest

Place the chicken on a plate and let rest at least 5 minutes (resting is mandatory!). Add any desired toppings. Enjoy!

Marinate &amp; Cook: Seal bag (squeezing out air) or cover dish, and marinate in refrigerator for at least 30 minutes and up to 24 hours (Note 4). Cook marinated chicken with preferred method, such as baking (Note 5) or grilling (Note 6).
