Air Fryer Hashbrowns From Scratch

Spray the inside of the air fryer basket thoroughly with a cooking spray.

Peel the potatoes and cut them into quarters.

Put potatoes in a food processor fitted with a shredder disk and shred them.

Put shredded potatoes in the mixing bowl, add melted butter and toss until combined.

Put shredded potatoes in the air fryer basket and spread them in a single layer.

Air fry the hashbrowns at 400F for 13 minutes, or until golden brown (you don&#039;t need to flip the hashbrowns).

Remove the hashbrowns from the air fryer with a spatula, sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste and serve immediately.

This White Trash Hash Is The Ultimate At Home Brunch

Bubble & squeak should be on everyone's radar come Christmas time – it's a great way of using up leftover mash, sprouts and cabbage

Bubble & squeak

tbsp duck fat, goose fat or butter

rashers of streaky bacon, chopped

onion, finely sliced

garlic clove, chopped

Brussels sprouts, sliced,

cold leftover mashed potato, potatoes

Melt 1 tbsp duck fat, goose fat or butter in a <a href="https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/content/top-five-non-stick-frying-pans">non-stick pan</a>, allow it to get nice and hot, then add 4 chopped streaky bacon rashers. As it begins to brown, add 1 finely sliced onion and 1 chopped garlic clove.

Next, add 15-20 sliced cooked Brussels sprouts or shredded boiled cabbage and let it colour slightly. All this will take 5-6 mins.

Add 400g cold mashed potato. Work everything together in the pan and push it down so that the mixture covers the base of the pan.

Allow the mixture to catch slightly on the base of the pan before turning it over and doing the same again. It’s the bits of potato that catch in the pan that define the term ‘bubble and squeak’, so be brave and let the mixture colour.

Hashbrowns, Spinach and Tomato Pie

Ore-Ida Shredded Hash Brown Potatoes (, thawed)

mozzarella cheese (, divided)

olive oil

garlic (, minced)

grape tomatoes (, halved)

spinach

milk ((I use skim))

nutmeg (,

salt and fresh ground pepper (,

Preheat oven to 375.

Spray a 9-inch pie plate with cooking spray; press down the Shredded Hash Brown Potatoes into the pie plate.

Bake for 9 minutes; remove from oven top with 1/2-cup shredded mozzarella and set aside.

Heat olive oil in a skillet.

Add garlic and cook and stir for 30 seconds.

Stir in tomatoes and continue to cook for 30 seconds.

Mix in the spinach and cook for 2 to 3 more minutes, or until wilted, stirring frequently.

Remove from heat and spread over prepared hashbrowns.

In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, nutmeg, salt and pepper; whisk until thoroughly combined.

Pour over spinach and tomatoes.

Sprinkle the remaining shredded mozzarella over the pie.

Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until top is golden brown.

Let cool for 10 minutes before cutting.

Serve.

oz Frozen Diced Potatoes

tbsp Olive oil (Optional)

Salt

Pepper

First spray the air fryer basket with non-stick cooking oil spray

Open the package of potatoes and pour into the basket, trying to fit in a single layer.

Set temperature to 400F and time to 15 minutes.

After 5 minutes of cooking, remove the basket and pour the defrosted potatoes into a large mixing bowl.

Drizzle the potatoes with 1-2 Tbsp olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste. (Unless pre-seasoned). Stir.

Return potatoes to air fryer basket.

Continue cooking for another 5 minutes. Then remove the basket and shake potatoes for even browning.

Return basket to air fryer and finish cooking.

Serve hot and enjoy!

Slow Cooker Cheesy Hamburger Hash

lbs lean ground beef

potatoes (pared and diced (see NOTES))

tomato sauce

10.75 oz can cream of mushroom soup

green bell pepper

red bell pepper

onion

beef broth/stock

cheddar cheese

Brown ground beef and drain any fat.

In a large bowl, mix the browned ground beef, potatoes, tomato sauce, soup, peppers, onion and beef stock.

Place in a 4-6 quart slow cooker.

Cook on low 6-8 hours, high 3-5 hours. (see NOTES)

Stir in cheese until melted and serve immediately.

Bacon Hashbrown Muffins

oz shredded hash brown potatoes (thawed)

bacon (diced)

tbsp finely diced red bell pepper

tbsp finely chopped onion

eggs (beaten)

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Spray a regular-sized muffin pan (6 muffins) very well with non-stick spray.

Heat the oil in a heavy skillet and saute the bell peppers and onions until tender.

Place thawed potatoes in a large bowl. Add the bacon, cheese, sauteed peppers and onions, beaten eggs, salt and pepper. Mix well.

Place in prepared muffin pan, using about 1/3 cup per muffin cup. Press down firmly in the pan.

Bake at 375 degrees F for 25-30 minutes, or until tops are golden brown.

Remove from oven and let cool on rack 10 minutes. Run a knife around the edge of each muffin to remove.

Serves 3 (2 muffins each). Makes 6 muffins

Here are all the secrets to homemade hash browns! No more soggy potatoes: just a few tricks get them perfectly crispy every time.

Homemade Hash Browns (Perfectly Crispy!)

russet potatoes (1 pound)

butter (or more olive oil)

Grate and quick soak the potatoes

Wash the potatoes, leaving the skins on. Use the large side of a box grater or a food processor large grating blade to grate the potatoes. Place the grated potatoes into a large bowl and fill it with cold water. Tip the bowl to drain off starchy water, then fill it again. Stir the potatoes to release starches soak them for 2 minutes.

Dry and season the potatoes

Drain the grated potatoes and squeeze out any excess water. Transfer them to a clean, dry towel. Wring the potatoes in the towel to remove as much liquid as possible. Place the potatoes in a bowl and stir with the kosher salt and lots of fresh ground black pepper.

Cook the potatoes

In a large, heavy skillet (cast iron is best), heat the olive oil and butter over medium high heat. Add the potatoes in an even layer and press them down gently with a spatula. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes without stirring until browned on the bottom. Flip and cook additional 6 to 7 minutes until cooked through, stirring and flipping occasionally to ensure all parts are browned. If necessary, drizzle with a little olive oil when you are stirring to continue the crisping. Taste and add additional salt if necessary: serve immediately.

Grate potatoes into a hash brown-style patty and cook in the oven for a convenient and tasty side dish

Heat oven to 190C/170C fan/gas 5. Dry-fry the bacon in a pan for 5 mins until crisp, then chop into small pieces. Boil the whole potatoes for 5 mins, drain, then place in a bowl of chilled water.

When cool enough to handle, pat the potatoes dry and roughly grate into a large bowl. Toss with the oil as you go, to stop them from sticking. Roughly grate the onion and squeeze out any excess juice, then stir into the potatoes along with the bacon.

Place a baking sheet in the oven for 5 mins to warm through. Liberally grease a 23cm loose-bottomed cake tin with butter. Scatter the potato over the tin, trying not to pack it down, then dot all over the top with butter. Place on the hot baking sheet and bake in the oven for 1 hr 20 mins until the potatoes are cooked through and crisp on top.

This Cheesy Hashbrown Breakfast Casserole is everything you need on Christmas morning! (Or anytime you have guests for breakfast!) Frozen hashbrowns are baked til crispy, then topped with eggs, cheese, and black forest ham. It's an overnight recipe, so you have more time for stockings in the morning! Make ahead breakfasts are always a win at the holidays.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Hash Brown Egg Casserole with Ham

(30-ounce) package frozen shredded hashbrowns

butter (1 stick)

salt and pepper

Monterey Jack cheese (packed)

Cheddar cheese (packed)

evaporated milk OR cream

salt (I

kosher salt (use

pepper

dry mustard powder (optional)

onion powder (optional)

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F.&nbsp;

Spray a 9x13 inch pan with nonstick spray, or grease with butter.

Dump the bag of frozen hashbrowns into the pan. (There is no need to thaw first.)

Melt a stick of butter in a small bowl, and pour evenly over the potatoes. Sprinkle the potatoes with salt and pepper. Use a spoon to gently toss it all together, then spread it out so that it's even.&nbsp;

Bake at 400 degrees for 25-30 minutes, until the potatoes are tender and lightly browned on top. You can even nab a forkful to make sure they are done if you like.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Remove the casserole and reduce the oven temperature to 350.

Layer 1 and 1/2 cups each Monterey Jack and Cheddar cheese over the top of the potatoes (make sure you pack in your cheese! Don&#39;t skimp now!) Add the ham. You can either leave it layered or use a spoon to gently toss the cheese and potatoes and ham together. Either way is fine. (I like to toss for a more even distribution.)

In a large bowl or stand mixer, whisk together 8 eggs, 1 and 1/3 cups evaporated milk OR cream, 1 teaspoon seasoned salt, 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt (use less if all you have is table salt!), 1/2 teaspoon pepper, 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard, and 1/4 teaspoon onion powder. Beat well.

Pour the egg mixture evenly over the top of the casserole, making sure everything gets wet.

Bake at 350 degrees for about 40 minutes. It is done when bubbly. The edges should be starting to brown and the center should not wiggle when you shake the pan.

If the center of the casserole looks very wobbly but the top is starting to brown too much, cover with foil for the last few minutes of baking.&nbsp;

Follow instructions through step 5 (bake the potatoes at 400.) Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.

Follow the instructions above for layering the cheese and ham. Cover tightly and refrigerate overnight.

In a large bowl, whisk together 8 eggs, evaporated milk OR cream, seasoned salt, kosher salt, pepper, dry mustard, and onion powder. Beat well.

&nbsp;Cover the egg mixture and refrigerate overnight.**

In the morning, preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.

Whisk the egg mixture once more, then pour over the potatoes in the casserole dish.

Bake at 350 for 45-55 minutes.&nbsp;It is done when bubbly, when the edges start to brown and the center doesn't wiggle when you shake the pan.
