This Homemade Ranch Dressing is the best tasting dressing! Buttermilk, mayonnaise, sour cream and the perfect blend of seasonings and garlic!

HOMEMADE RANCH DRESSING

mayonnaise

buttermilk

sour cream

garlic (finely minced)

tsp dried dill ((or 1 tbsp. fresh dill))

tsp dried parsley ((or 1 tbsp. fresh parsley))

onion powder

salt

tsp pepper

In a medium bowl, whisk together all ingredients.

You want to make sure you really mince your garlic.

I have a garlic press so I used that but if you are chopping it up by hand, get it as finely minced as you can.

The fresh garlic adds a ton of flavor to the dressing.

Store in a jar or bowl with a lid in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.

This dressing will thicken up slightly as it sits in the fridge.

Also, I think it gets even better tasting after it's been in the refrigerator for at least a day.

It really helps the flavors come together.

Combine all ingredients in a 1 quart mason jar. Shake well, until all ingredients are combined. Alternatively, you can puree the ingredients in a blender or with an emulsifier

Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.

Remaining salad dressing should be stored in an airtight container in the fridge and kept in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.

Ranch Dressing

Toss lettuce and raw vegetables in a large bowl. Add some of the ranch dressing and toss to coat. Add more dressing if needed. Or, serve undressed with dressings on the side.

Top with homemade croutons, nuts or sunflower seeds if desired.

Place the spices (dried parsley - fresh chives) into a food processor and pulse a few times, until the spices have been ground up a bit.

Scrape down the sides.

Place the remaining ingredients - greek yogurt, buttermilk, Dijon, and lemon juice - into the food processor and pulse until the ingredients have been fully incorporated.

Scrape down the sides, if needed, and pulse again.

Transfer into a sealable container (like a mason jar) and place in the fridge until you're ready to use it!

This dressing tastes great immediately and even better after a 10-minute rest. Use as desired, and store leftovers in the refrigerator, covered, for 5 to 7 days.

My son loves ranch dressing and because he's living with us for a short while I am going to surprise him with this dressing tonight. You posted this a couple months ago, so you probably already tried it, but I did make this recipe today using plain Greek yogurt, and it turned out great!

Any plain Greek yogurt works as a terrific and healthier substitute for sour cream. It can be used for any dressing or dip or even any baked good that calls for sour cream. I use it each time I make this dressing and the result is so so good.

Well, I don't know how it tastes with the sour cream, but I just made it (very easy!) and I think it's pretty delicious with the nonfat plain Greek yogurt.  (I used Chobani.)  Next time I make it I'm going to spice it up with a bit of sriracha, but we'll have it as a regular ranch this time.  Thanks, Kate!

Kate...this is great!  Of course, due to the lack of several of the ingredients, I substituted.
* NO sour cream, so I used plain yogurt for that.
* used regular milk
* Mayo
* dried herbs:  basil, garlic, S &amp; P, smokey paprika
* left out lemon juice, because the yogurt is tangy enough

When I DO have all those ingredients in your recipe, I will def try it that way.  Thank you!

This Homemade Ranch Dressing is made with a base of only 2 ingredients and a ton of fresh herbs and spices! It’s the creamiest, easiest dressing that you will want to put on everything!

Add mayo to a large bowl. Add the spices and fresh herbs on top. Add the milk (start with about 4 tbsp and add more if needed as you go)

Using a whisk, slowly mix together until combined and you reach your desired consistency. If it’s too thin, add more mayo! If it’s too thick, add more milk!

Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.

Enjoy on pizza, burgers, fries, or a salad! Keeps in the fridge in a mason jar for 3-4 days.

Whisk the 3 tbsp. buttermilk, 2 tbsp. mayonnaise, and 2 tbsp. sour cream together in a medium bowl.

Stir in the dried herbs (1 tsp. dried minced onion, 1 tsp. dried parsley flakes, 1/2 tsp. dried chives, 1/4 tsp. each of onion powder, garlic powder, and dried dill).

Stir in a pinch each of salt and pepper, taste, and add more of either if preferred. For a thinner dressing, stir in more buttermilk (1 tsp. at a time) until the dressing is the consistency you like.

Cover and chill for an hour in the refrigerator for the best flavor, or serve immediately!
