This quick 15-minute hummus pasta is delicious and full of flavor! Robust, smooth, and zesty, this easy pasta recipe will become a staple in the household!

Vegan Hummus Pasta

oz dry spaghetti

olive oil

sun-dried tomatoes, (choppped)

pine nuts

baby arugula

garlic cloves, (mince)

Cup hummus

½ cup + 2 tablespoons pasta water

salt and pepper, (to taste)

Cook the pasta according to package instructions in boiling water. Before draining the pasta, reserve ½ cup + 2 tablespoons of the cooking water and set aside. Drain the pasta and add it back to the pot.

In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the garlic and the chopped sun-dried tomatoes and cook for 2 minutes or until fragrant.

Add the cup of hummus and about ½ cup + 2 tablespoons of the pasta cooking water and stir until a creamy sauce forms. Add more pasta water as needed to thin the sauce to your desired consistency.

Add the cooked pasta and arugula and cook for 1 more minute, tossing everything together. Top with some roasted pine nuts and black pepper and serve immediealy.

5 Ingredient Hummus Pasta

Garlic Hummus*

Sun-dried Tomatoes, sliced

½ -¾ cup Filtered Water

Lemon

Parsley

Salt & Black Pepper,

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook your pasta according to package instructions.

Use a colander to drain your pasta, but do not rinse. Return the pot to the stove over medium-low heat. Mix the hummus and 1/2 cup of filtered water together in the base of the pot, then slowly whisk additional water into the sauce until it reaches your desired consistency. Add in the sun-dried tomatoes and cook for 2-3 minutes.

Return the pasta to the pot and fold it into the sauce. Turn off the heat and stir in the lemon juice, plus any salt &amp; pepper if necessary. Transfer into serving bowls, top with fresh herbs, and enjoy!

Hummus Pasta is a quick weeknight meal that tastes much more decadent than it is! Keep this recipe in your back pocket when you have leftover hummus to use up.

Easy Hummus Pasta

pasta of choice

hummus

oregano

fine sea salt

black pepper

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to the directions on the package. When the pasta is done cooking, reserve some of the cooking water to prepare the sauce. (I usually save about 1/2 cup, but you might not need all of it.)

To prepare the sauce, add the hummus, oregano, salt, and pepper to a skillet. You can wait until the pasta is done cooking, to avoid using multiple pans, or you can use a separate skillet to make the process move faster. Add in a ⅓ cup of water (pasta cooking water is great, but plain water will also work here) and whisk well, until the hummus is evenly distributed and the sauce looks creamy. Add another tablespoon of water, if needed, to help thin out the sauce to your desired consistency.

When the pasta is done cooking, add it to the creamy hummus pasta sauce and toss well to coat. Add more salt or pepper to taste, and then it&#39;s ready to serve. I highly recommend garnishing this with fresh basil and a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes, if you like a hint of spice, but that&#39;s optional. You can add in any extra veggies or protein that you love, too.

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. Reheat it in a skillet over medium heat, and add a splash of water, as needed, to make the sauce creamy again.

This hummus pasta is made with sun dried tomatoes, fresh basil and of course, hummus, for an easy and delicious meal that is ready in 15 minutes!

Hummus Pasta

Pasta ((450 grams) Dry Weight)

Tbsp Olive Oil

Medium Onion (White, Yellow or Brown, Chopped)

Cloves Garlic (Crushed)

tsp Red Pepper Flakes

Sun Dried Tomatoes ((180 grams) Sliced)

Hummus ((225 grams))

Pasta Water (Reserved after cooking the pasta)

Lemon Juice (Freshly Squeezed)

Fresh Basil (Chopped)

tsp Sea Salt

tsp Ground Black Pepper

Ground Black Pepper

Put your pasta on to cook according to package instructions. Drain and set aside but keep 1 cup of the pasta water to use in your sauce.

Add olive oil and chopped onions to a pot on medium heat and sauté until the onions are softened.

Add crushed garlic and red pepper flakes and sauté for around 1 minute to lightly toast the spices.

Add sun dried tomatoes and sauté for a couple of minutes to heat and blend the flavors.

Reduce the heat to low and add hummus, lemon juice and half a cup of the reserved pasta water and stir it in. You can keep adding small amounts of pasta water until the sauce is as thick/thin as you like.

Cook until the sauce is mixed well and heated through.

Turn off the heat and add in chopped basil and salt and pepper and mix it in.

Add the cooked pasta and fold into the sauce so that the pasta is well coated. You can add in a little more reserved pasta water at this stage if you need to, to thin the sauce out a bit more.

Serve topped with ground black pepper, with lemon wedges on the side.

With just 20 minutes a handful of ingredients, this creamy hummus pasta dish can be on your dinner table! Use homemade hummus for an oil-free version or grab a container of store-bought for an even quicker option. Kid and husband approved!

In a large pot on the stove, cook the pasta according to package directions in well-salted water. BEFORE draining, reserve 1 cup of the pasta cooking water and set aside.

Transfer the cooked noodles back to the pot. Add the hummus, tomatoes, spinach, lemon juice, salt and pepper. Stir to combine.

Add 1/2 cup of the pasta cooking water and stir well until the sauce is creamy and smooth. Add more pasta cooking water, if needed, to reach the desired consistency.

Taste and adjust seasoning, as needed. Add more salt, pepper, lemon, or even more hummus, as desired.

Made it tonight for dinner.  My wife and I were concerned about how the humus would work out   I’m glad we were curious enough to try!

I made this easy hummus pasta for lunch today and it was really, really good! Fun to make, too. I didn't feel the need to add extra salt after cooking my pasta in salted water, but that's just a preference.

Hummus pasta is the easiest weeknight dinner to make when you don't feel like cooking. This hearty pasta recipe comes together with just 5 ingredients and 15 minutes! 

15 Minute Hummus Pasta

pasta of choice (gluten-free if necessary)

pasta water

garlic hummus*

yellow onion, sliced

cherry tomatoes, halved

spinach

Salt and black pepper

In a medium pot, cook pasta al dente in salted water according to package instructions.

While the pasta is cooking, heat a little oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Once hot, sauté the onions 2-3 minutes until translucent. Add in the tomatoes and cook an additional 2 minutes. 

Drain the pasta when it is done cooking, reserving 1/2 cup of the pasta water. Set pasta aside and do not rinse! 

Add the hummus to the saucepan with the sautéed veggies, and slowly stir in the pasta water until it’s smooth and creamy. Add spinach and cook until wilted.

Pour the pasta into the saucepan and stir until evenly coated with sauce. Taste and add salt and pepper if desired. 

This is such a quick and easy meal to make! It was perfect for meal prepping for the week. I always have hummus lying around, and you can throw in any veggies that you have on hand as well, so it doesn’t require much prep or grocery shopping. Very customizable and simple!

Yum! Added garlic because all I had was roasted red pepper hummus. Also added fresh basil with the spinach. Easy and delicious for a hot summer day!

You can watch the video in the post for visual instructions.First, cook the pasta according to its package instructions (usually minus 1-2 minutes for al dente pasta), then drain it, reserving one cup of the pasta cooking water.

Meanwhile, soak the sun-dried tomatoes in hot water for 5-10 minutes, then drain and chop them into small pieces. Then, peel and finely dice the onion and mince/crush the garlic.

While the pasta cooks, heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the onion and sauté for 3-5 minutes, until soft and fragrant.

Add the sun-dried tomatoes and sauté for a few more minutes, then stir in the garlic to sauté for a minute.

Reduce the heat to low, stir in the hummus, lemon juice, and half a cup of the reserved pasta water.

Stir in the spinach, basil, and seasonings (added to taste). Remove it from the heat.

Finally, stir the pasta into the sauce and, optionally, add more pasta water until you reach your desired consistency. Garnish with vegan Parmesan or nutritional yeast, and enjoy!

This recipe reminds me of five start quality pasta. It is so good. We added more spinach to it. Really enjoyed it. Quick easy and so good. Never thought about putting hummus onto pasta. 
Definitely doing it again, maybe adding fresh tomatoes and Chickpeas. My non-vegan boyfriend also thought about adding chicken or tofu for me.
