Rich, dreamy, creamy... How to make 4 ingredient chocolate peanut butter banana ice cream that's good for you. How to freeze your bananas, and flavor combinations. Vegan, dairy free.

4 Ingredient Chocolate Peanut Butter Ice Cream

bananas (frozen)

almond milk (or milk of choice)

peanut butter (natural)

cocoa powder

Place all ingredients into a high powered blender or food processor

Blend until smooth

Serve immediately as 'soft serve' or freeze for 2 hours or more for firmer ice cream.

This chocolate peanut butter nice cream tastes like eating a frozen peanut butter cup!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Nice Cream

frozen overripe bananas

peanut butter, (or allergy-friendly sub)

tbsp dutch cocoa or chocolate protein powder

tsp pure vanilla extract

salt

Make sure the bananas are at least partially brown before chopping and freezing them. Combine all ingredients in a blender, food processor, or Vitamix. Process until completely smooth, adding a little milk of choice if your blender isn’t strong enough to handle the frozen banana. (If you’re not using a high-speed blender like a Vitamix and don’t want to add any liquid, simply thaw the bananas a bit before blending.) Either serve immediately as soft serve, or freeze for up to an hour before scooping out with an ice cream scoop for the classic ice-cream look. This tastes best the day it is made, but you can technically freeze leftovers for up to a few weeks and thaw before serving.View Nutrition Facts

The easiest one-ingredient ice cream recipe! Banana ice cream is one of my favorite desserts. I like adding a bit of protein powder and nut butter for a more balanced treat but there are endless flavor variations you can try. How about peanut butter, mint chocolate chip, strawberry or matcha? YUM.

Banana Ice Cream

bananas, peeled, chopped and frozen until solid

Place the frozen banana in a food processor and pulse a few times to start breaking it down.

Once it’s fairly well broken down, slowly start blending stopping to scrape down the sides as needed. It will seem a little dry and icy at first but continue blending until it forms a smooth, creamy, soft serve ice cream-like texture. Depending on your blender or food processor you may need a little splash of dairy-free milk but for best results, try to use just the banana.

Scoop the ice cream into a bowl and enjoy right away or place back in the freezer for 30-60 minutes for firmer ice cream.

I added almond butter, cocoa powder and banana and made it in my food processor. Worked great!! Kids and even husband loved it. So happy to have a healthy, easy dessert option. We'll try a bunch of fun toppings next time to make sundays!

This is SO yummy! I just added cocoa and a bit of natural peanut butter to mine. I couldn’t believe how good it was.!

Amazing. Made the strawberry version and it was SO yummy!

I made this recipe with cocoa and two packets of Stevia and three dates. I it came out very well just like the ice cream that you would buy in the store. I will make it again.

AMAZING. I made the strawberry version and added some coconut milk. So, so good. I will make this all the time now!

Process the bananas until they break down and have a smooth and creamy ice-cream-like texture. Serve right away for a soft serve consistency.

For a scoop-able ice cream, transfer the banana ice cream to a freezer-safe dish and freeze for 2 hours. Scoop and serve.

Leftover ice cream can be stored in a tightly covered container for up to 3 months, but it will harden so you'll need to let it thaw on the counter for 15 to 20 minutes before serving again.

Freeze: Peel and chop bananas into chunks. Lay in a single layer on a parchment-lined plate. Freeze until solid (at least 2 hours).

Blend: Allow bananas to thaw for 5 minutes, then transfer to a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth, scraping down sides and adding a splash of milk as needed.

Frozen banana "ice cream" layered with an almond milk caramel sauce sweetened with dates and maple syrup and topped off with crunchy toasted cinnamon almonds makes this guilt-free shot glass dessert.

Caramel Almond Crunch Ice Cream

Medjool pitted dates, (about 6 dates)

tsp sea salt

maple syrup

raw almonds, (coarsely chopped)

tsp pure maple syrup

cinnamon

Peel and slice bananas. Spread out in a single layer on a baking sheet and freeze until very firm, at least 6 hours or preferably overnight.

First, prepare the crunchy almond topping. Preheat oven to 325F. Toss the chopped almonds with maple syrup, cinnamon and sea salt in a small bowl. Spread out on a lined baking sheet and toast until caramelized, about 10 minutes. Remove from oven and set aside to cool.

Next, prepare the caramel sauce. Put the dates in a food processor and pulse until chopped. With machine running, add the vanilla and sea salt. Pour in the almond milk and maple syrup and process until smooth. Transfer to a jar and refrigerate.

Just before serving, blend the frozen banana slices in a high-speed blender, just until they are smooth and creamy. Be careful not to over process, as the friction from the blender will melt the ice cream.

Layer the banana ice, caramel sauce and crunchy cinnamon almonds in shot glass or parfait glasses and serve immediately.

For a sweet and refreshing plant-based treat, simply combine espresso powder, cacao and frozen bananas. Blend and enjoy!

This Banana Ice Cream Recipe is made with 2 ingredients and takes just 5 minutes. You'll love this easy, homemade soft serve ice cream!

Strawberry Banana Ice Cream Recipe + Video

strawberries (frozen)

sugar (optional)

Place strawberries in a bowl or measuring cup. If your strawberries are not very sweet, sprinkle with sugar and toss to combine. Place the bowl in the microwave at 30-second intervals until the strawberries soften slightly and the sugar dissolves in the juice (if used).

Add bananas and strawberry mixture to the blender and blend until they reach the perfect consistency.

When your ice cream stops moving in the blender, you will want to stop and scrape down the pitcher of the blender and stir a few times, about 2-3 minutes of total blending time.

Your frozen fruit may separate into tiny frozen chunks before it becomes a fabulous creamy consistency, so be patient.

Serve and enjoy! You can also transfer to a freezer-safe container and allow ice cream to firm up in the freezer for 2 to 3 hours.
