Old Bay seasoning (plus more for garnish)

shrimp (peeled and deveined (leave tails on))

Cut 2 of the lemons into quarters. Cut the remaining lemon into wedges and reserve the wedges for later use.

Fill a large pot with 12-14 cups of water. Place the 2 quartered lemons in the water along with the Old Bay seasoning, garlic and onion. Bring to a boil.

Add the potatoes to the pot and cook for 10-12 minutes or until just tender. Add the corn and sausage and cook for another 3-4 minutes.

Add the shrimp to the pot and cook for 2-3 minutes or until pink and opaque.

Drain the shrimp mixture from the pot, reserving 1 cup of the broth.

Melt the butter and whisk it into the reserved broth. Pour the broth over the shrimp mixture.

Garnish with chopped parsley and lemon wedges. Sprinkle with additional Old Bay seasoning to taste, then serve.

Viet-Cajun Seafood Boil

unsalted butter

In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.  Add garlic, lemongrass, cayenne, and salt.  Simmer until softened and flavors combine, about 5 minutes.

Make Spicy Garlic Butter Sauce:

Add water, lemongrass, garlic, ginger, fish sauce, Cajun seasoning, and Old Bay into large stockpot.  Bring to a boil and simmer until flavors combine, about 5 minutes.  The broth should be flavorful and spicy, almost too salty.

Make Broth:

Add potatoes and sausages.  Cover and boil for 8-10 minutes, until potatoes are almost done.  (The potatoes and sausages take longer to cook than clams, shrimp, and corn.)

Add clams, shrimp, and corn.  Cover and boil until clams open and shrimp are pink and curled, about 4-5 minutes.

Using a mesh strainer, transfer potatoes, sausages, clams, shrimp, and corn to a tray.  Leave behind broth and aromatics (garlic, ginger, lemongrass).  Cover tray loosely with foil and set aside.

Bring broth to a boil.  When the broth is furiously simmering, add lobsters.  Cover and boil until cooked through, about 10-12 minutes.  The lobsters should be bright red.  Transfer to tray with tongs, making sure to remove the foil first.  Scatter with sliced green scallions.

Serve with Spicy Garlic Butter Sauce divided evenly into 4 ramekins.  Also, serve the broth in small bowls for additional dipping.  Enjoy!

Garnish with chopped parsley and lemon wedges. Sprinkle with additional Old Bay seasoning to taste, then serve immediately.

Ultimate Seafood Boil

lemons (sliced)

Italian parsley

thyme

dill

salted butter

apple cider vinegar

tbsp creole seasoning

lbs king crab legs

lb jumbo shrimp (peeled & deveined)

lb crab claws

lobster tails (I used 4 oz lobster tails)

lbs andouille sausage sausage

potatoes (I used russet potatoes)

tbsp mild hot sauce

lemon (juice only)

½ tsp creole seasoning

paprika

tsp parsley flakes

Make sure that all the seafood, herbs, and etc are nice and clean.

Slice up 2 large lemons, and one large onion, then toss them into a large pan.

Toss in the Italian parsley, fresh thyme, dill,  and cloves of garlic.

Now add in 1 stick of salted butter, 1 tbsp of apple cider vinegar, and 2 tablespoons of creole seasoning in the large pot.

Pour in 16 cups of cool water, and place the pot over high heat.

Bring the water to a boil, then turn the heat down to medium high.

Let cook for 45 minutes.

Reduce the heat to medium.

Now fish out all the herbs and etc ( or as much as you can).

Add in the andouille sausage, and corn. Let cook for 15 minutes.

Next add in the potatoes, and cook for 10 minutes.

Start adding in the crab legs &amp; claws, and the lobster tails. Cook for 15 minutes.

Now toss in the shrimp, and turn the heat off!

Let sit for 10 minutes.

While the seafood boil is sitting, we can make our creole spiced garlic sauce.

Combine the butter, minced garlic, hot sauce, lemon juice, creole seasoning, paprika, and parsley flakes into a sauce pan, and place it over medium heat.

Once the butter is melted, stir the ingredients, and reduce the heat to low.

Let cook for 10 minutes.

You can pour the sauce over the seafood boil, or use to dip!

Seafood Boil with Creole Butter Sauce - I Heart Recipes

This Cajun Seafood Boil with Garlic Butter Sauce is a flavorful feast of shrimp, crab, lobster tails, mussels, clams, sausage, and potatoes. Prepared in under an hour, this easy seafood boil recipe is the perfect meal for entertaining guests.

Cajun Seafood Boil with Garlic Butter Sauce

12 oz Beer (cans)

qts Water

Bay leaves

Old Bay Seasoning

tbsps Smoked paprika

tbsp Cayenne pepper (less

tbsp Black pepper

Lemons (sliced)

Salt

lb Red potatoes (halved)

Corn

lbs Andouille sausage

Snow crab clusters/legs (about 2 lb)

Lobster tails (about 1-1 1/2 lbs)

lb Mussels (optional)

lb Clams (optional)

lbs Jumbo shrimp

Butter (4 sticks)

Garlic (diced finely)

Cajun seasoning

tbsp Old bay seasoning

tbsp Red Pepper Flakes (optional)

onion powder

(to taste (I used 1 tsp))

Reserved broth (from above)

parsley (garnish)

Hot sauce (for serving)

Add beer, and water to a large stock pot. Bring to a boil and then add bay leaves, Old Bay seasoning, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, black pepper, thyme, salt, lemons, garlic, and onions. Stir together and boil for 5 minutes to allow flavors to come together.

Add halved red potatoes and corn to the pot and allow them to cook until the potatoes are tender but not mushy (about 15 minutes). Then add sausages and allow them to cook for another 5 minutes.

Add crab legs, lobster tails, mussels, clams, and shrimp. Cover the pot with a lid and allow everything to boil together for 10 minutes. (The mussels and clams will pop open once they are finished and the shrimp will be pink) Stir together, save 2 cups of the broth, then drain.

Roll out newspaper or a large serving tray and place seafood on top. 

Make the sauce. Melt butter over medium low heat in a large sauce pan, then add garlic and cook until fragrant, about 3 minutes. Then add cajun seasoning, old bay seasoning, red pepper flakes, onion powder, and salt. Add 1 cup of the reserved broth and simmer on low for 3-5 minutes, until sauce thickens. (For a thinner sauce, add 2 cups) Add freshly diced parsley and remove from the heat.

Pour sauce over the seafood and enjoy! Serve with hot sauce (optional)
