Fish Tacos {Crispy &amp; Healthy}

flour almond

tsp taco seasoning

garlic powder

cornstarch

tsp salt

black pepper (to taste)

tbsp avocado oil

corn tortillas

plain yogurt (2%+ fat)

mayo (I use avocado oil)

lime (juice of)

cayenne

Cabbage

Tomato

Dredging for fish: In a medium bowl, add flour, taco seasoning, garlic powder, cornstarch, salt and pepper. Stir and set aside.

Fish taco sauce: In a small bowl, add yogurt, mayo, lime juice, taco seasoning, cayenne and black pepper. Stir and set aside.

Toppings: Chop and prepare the toppings.

To cook fish: Preheat large ceramic non-stick skillet on medium-high heat and swirl 1 tbsp of oil. In batches, dredge pieces of fish in flour mixture and fry for 2-3 minutes per side or until crispy and brown. Fish cooks fast, so don&#039;t over cook. Do not overcrowd the skillet - helps to keep fish crispy. Remove onto a plate.

To assemble tacos: Warm tortillas in a cast iron skillet on high heat for 10 seconds per side and pressing on with spatula. Fill each tortilla with 3-4 pieces of fish, add toppings and drizzle with sauce. Serve immediately with your favorite toppings (please see suggestions in notes).

How to Make Fish Tacos

This spicy fish supper is served in a rich tomato sauce and accompanied with a tahini dressing and mint rice. 

Chilli fish with tahini and mint rice

basmati rice

unsalted butter, melted

grams/1½oz fresh mint sprigs

feta,

salt and black pepper

halibut

olive oil

1–2 red chillies,

garlic cloves, thinly sliced

tsp caraway seeds,

plum tomatoes, chopped into 1-cm/½-in dice

tomato purée

½ tsp caster sugar

coriander

salt

grams/1¾oz tahini

lemon juice

grams/1½oz pitted green olives,

pomegranate seeds

grams/1¾oz walnut halves, lightly toasted and roughly broken

pomegranate molasses

garlic clove, crushed

shredded fresh mint leaves

Braised Fish And Napa Cabbage With Chilies

egg white, beaten

sugar

Salt

tilapia

peppercorns

peanut oil

ginger

garlic,

Napa cabbage

leek, white part only, coarsely chopped

chicken stock

soy sauce

chili paste

red pepper flakes

scallion, white part only, trimmed and cut in thin slivers

Mix egg white, cornstarch, sugar and pinch salt in small bowl. Place fish pieces in shallow bowl, pour egg white mixture over them and turn to coat. Set aside 15 minutes.

Heat wok. Add Sichuan peppercorns, and toast until fragrant. Remove, cool briefly, grind in mortar and pass through fine sieve.

Add oil to wok. When beginning to smoke, add fish, reduce heat and cook about 30 seconds, turning with tongs. Remove fish with slotted spoon, drain well on paper towels and set aside. Pour off all but 1 1/2 tablespoons oil, reserving 2 tablespoons for Step 5.

Turn heat to high. Add ginger and garlic to wok, stir-frying until they start to brown, and add cabbage and leek. Stir-fry until wilted. Mix together chicken stock, soy sauce and chili paste, and add. Bring to simmer. Season to taste with salt. With slotted spoon, transfer cabbage and leek to deep serving platter. Top with fish, and spoon on cooking liquid.

Heat reserved oil, add pepper flakes and ground Sichuan pepper and cook 10 seconds, until spices sizzle. Pour over fish, scatter scallion slivers on top and serve.

This fish recipe is so versatile. Cook what ever flat white fish you want and choose your favorite spices. If you’re cooking a thicker fish like halibut or cod, just add a few minutes extra cooking time. We have a crispy breaded version on the website too. Just search “seafood” and you’ll find it! To avoid sticking and tearing of the fish, we like to use perforated parchment/baking paper made for air fryers. Our recipe write up has lots of info on these papers.

Preheat Air Fryer &amp; Season Fish

Pre-heat Air Fryer to 360°F for 5 minutes.Rinse and pat dry the fish filets. Spray or coat with olive oil spray and season with garlic powder, lemon pepper, and/or onion power, salt and pepper. Repeat for both sides.

Line Air Fryer with Parchment Paper

Lay perforated air fryer baking paper inside base of air fryer. Lightly spray the paper. (if not using a liner, spray enough olive oil spray at the base of the air fryer basket to make sure fish does not stick).Lay the fish on top of the paper. Add a few lemon wedges next to fish.

Air Fry White Fish

Air Fry at 360°F for about 6-12 minutes, or until fish can be flaked with a fork. Timing will depend on how thickness of the filets, how cold the filets are, &amp; individual preference.Sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve warm with the toasted lemon wedges.

Air Fryer Healthy White Fish w/ Garlic & Lemon with Time & Temp

In Morocco, <a href="http://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1012763-chermoula">chermoula</a> is traditionally used as a marinade for grilled fish. You’ve used the Moroccan herb and spice blend, chermoula in all sorts of dishes, but not the way it is traditionally used in Morocco, as a marinade and sauce for fish (usually grilled). When you make the chermoula, you can do it as the recipe instructs, in a food processor, or as the Moroccans do, finely chopping all of the herbs. You can also use a mortar and pestle. If you want to you can thin it out with more oil or lemon juice. If the sauce is thick, you can just spread it over the fish with a spatula, like a rub, and let the fish marinate. It is unbelievably delicious and easy. This recipe is for fillets, but you can also use the marinade with a whole fish. I like to use the broiler for this because the juices accumulate on the foil-lined baking sheet and they are delicious poured over the fish. But grilling is traditional.

Broiled Fish With Chermoula

Season the fish with salt and pepper. In a large baking dish combine the fish with half the chermoula and toss together until the fish is coated. If the chermoula is thick it may be easier to spread it onto the fish with a spatula. Refrigerate for 15 to 30 minutes while you preheat the broiler or prepare a grill.

If using a broiler, line a sheet pan with foil and brush the foil with olive oil, or oil a shallow baking dish. Place the fish in the pan in a single layer. If desired drizzle on a little more olive oil or lemon juice. Place under the broiler, close to the heat (about 2 1/2 inches below) and broil 5 minutes. Check the fish; the timing depends on how thick the fillets are; figure on 4 to 5 minutes per 1/2 inch of thickness. It is done when it is opaque and you can pull it apart with a fork. Using a spatula, transfer the fish from the sheet pan or baking dish to a platter or to individual plates. Tip the juices in the pan over the fish fillets. Pass the remaining chermoula and lemon wedges at the table.

This recipe is incredibly versatile – use whichever fish you like (as long as it's sustainable) and add any herbs to the crumb. A fine grating of Parmesan makes a nice addition, too. It doesn’t matter if your bread is a bit stale, it’ll still work fine. And if you haven’t got any bread you can use four smashed-up cream crackers instead.

Fillets of fish like tilapia, cod, halibut, and even salmon are great options. All the fillets will vary in thickness, so you’ll have to adjust timing. Plus all air fryers cook a little different, some hotter or closer to the heating element than others. Once you cook your first batch, you’ll know more of what works for your model of air fryer and size of food. If you use frozen fillets, just make sure to thaw the fillets first.Make sure to completely coat the breading on the fillets with oil spray or else it may cook up dry and crunchy instead of crispy. Preheat Air Fryer

Preheat the Air Fryer at 380°F/193°C for 4 minutes.

Season Fish

If fillets are large, cut in half or to desired size. Make sure they are even sized so they’ll cook evenly. The thicker they are, the longer they will take to cook.Pat the fillets dry then lightly spray with oil spray. Season with the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.

Coat with Breadcrumbs

Put the breading in a shallow bowl. In another bowl, beat the egg.Dip a fillet in the egg, allowing excess egg to drip off. Place the coated fillet in the breadcrumbs (or breading of choice) and then sprinkle more breadcrumbs on top of the fillet. Gently press the breadcrumbs into the fillets to help them stick onto the fish. Repeat this process for all fish pieces.

Place in Air Fryer

Place a perforated parchment paper (optional but highly recommended) in the air fryer basket or tray and lightly coat with oil spray.Lay coated fish in a single layer on the parchment (cook in batches if needed). Generously spray all sides of the breaded filets with oil spray to coat any dry spots.

Air Fry

Air Fry at 380°F/193°C for 8-14 minutes, depending on the size and thickness of your fillets. After 6 minutes, flip the fillets. Lightly spray any dry spots than then continue cooking for the remaining time or until they are crispy brown and the fish is cooked through.Serve with your favorite dip: tartar sauce, mustard, aioli, etc.

Air Fryer Fish Fillets (Easy, Crispy, & Homemade)

This Sri Lankan fish curry recipe is easy to make and on the dinner table in less than an hour. It is less than 500 calories per serving and also suitable for freezing

Sri Lankan fish curry

lime 1, juiced

turmeric 1 tsp

chili powder

green chillies 2-4 long, roughly chopped

ginger a thumb-sized piece, chopped

garlic 2 cloves, chopped

groundnut oil

onions 2, finely sliced

black mustard seeds 1 tbsp

curry leaves

tomatoes 400 grams, chopped

coconut milk 400

light fish stock 150 milliliters

tamarind paste 2 tbsp

rice,

coriander seeds 2 tsp

pods, seeds only

black peppercorns 1 tsp

fennel seeds 1 tsp

fenugreek seeds 2 tsp

This Blackened Fish is so simple, yet so delicious! It is easy and quick enough for a busy weeknight, but flavorful enough to impress guests. Filled with protein and big on taste, you can&#039;t go wrong with this easy dinner idea.

Blackened Fish Recipe

lb fish filets ((3-4 filets))

tbsp butter

salt and black pepper (to taste)

onion powder

Italian seasoning

tsp Old Bay seasoning

tsp cayenne pepper (or up

Combine the garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, Italian seasoning, Old Bay, and cayenne pepper (optional) and mix.

Lay the fish filets flat and sprinkle seasonings on the first side, lightly pat them in, and then sprinkle the remaining seasoning on the back side and pat in. This can sit in the refrigerator for up to an hour seasoned.

Heat a large cast iron skillet over high heat for 2-3 minutes, then reduce to medium high and add the butter.

Once the butter is melted and starting to brown, but not smoke, season the fish with salt and pepper to taste, then put it flat in the skillet. Do not crowd the skillet.  Cook the fish in batches if necessary.

Let the fish cook for 2-3 minutes on the first side without moving or checking it, then flip and cook 2-3 minutes on the other side, or until it reaches the desired doneness, or about 145˚F. Cooking time will vary depending on the size and thickness of your fish filets.

Remove the fish from the skillet (to prevent it from continuing to cook) and serve warm with fresh parsley or lemon juice if desired.

Loaded with bright Mediterranean flavors, this baked white fish takes is seasoned with oregano and garlic and topped with a mixture of tomatoes, olives, and red onions. Ready in about 25 minutes! Be sure to check out my fish tips and the video for how to make this recipe below!

Mediterranean Baked White Fish

½ lb white fish fillet

Kosher salt and ground black pepper

Extra virgin olive oil

cherry tomatoes, (halved)

red onion

garlic cloves, (minced)

thyme leaves

oregano

Heat the oven to 425 degrees F.

Pat the fish dry and season with salt and pepper on both sides. Brush a 9 ½ x 13-inch baking dish with a little extra virgin olive oil and put the fish in it. Squeeze ½ lemon juice all over the top of the fish.

In a medium mixing bowl, combine the tomatoes, olives, onions, garlic and spices. Add a very small pinch of salt and ground pepper. Add a generous drizzle (about 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil) toss to combine.

Pour the tomato and olive mixture over the fish.

Bake in the heated oven for 15 to 20 minutes (this will depend on the thickness of your fish).

Remove from the heat and serve.

Heat the oven to 220C/200C fan/gas 7. Tip the flour into a bowl and add some seasoning. Turn each cod fillet in the flour until evenly coated.

Heat half the oil in a <a href="https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/content/top-five-non-stick-frying-pans">non-stick frying pan</a> over a medium-high heat. Add the cod and fry on each side for 2 mins or until golden brown.

Transfer the cod to a <a href="https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/review/test-five-best-roasting-tins">roasting tin</a>. Arrange the lemon slices and thyme on and around the fish and drizzle with the remaining oil. Bake for 10 mins or until cooked through.
