Ingredients: 1-1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs; 1/3 cup confectioners' sugar; 6 tablespoons butter, melted; FILLING:; 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened; 1 cup confectioners' sugar; 1 carton (8 ounces) frozen whipped topping, thawed (3 cups); 1 can (21 ounces) cherry pie filling

This smooth and creamy cheesecake-like treat is light, sweet and pretty, too. Convenience products make it quick and easy to prepare. “My husband also likes this dessert when I substitute blueberry pie filling,” notes Lanae Powell of McPherson, Kansas.

FILLING:

(8 ounces) cream cheese, softened

carton (8 ounces) frozen whipped topping, thawed (3 cups)

(21 ounces) cherry pie filling

In a bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, confectioners' sugar and butter. Press onto the bottom of a greased 8-in. square pan.

In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and confectioners' sugar until smooth; fold in whipped topping. Spread over crust. Spoon pie filling over top. Refrigerate until set, about 1 hour.

virtually no flavor to the filling, all we could taste was the graham cracker crust and cherry pie filling topping. cherries got lost in the pie filling gel - very unattractive as well - pie did not set up at all, had to spoon it out of the dish.

I tried the fall twist to this recipe: Substituted 3 cups of crushed spiced wafers, added 4 more tbsp melted butter to the crust. I substituted 2 cans of apple pie filling then sprinkled cinnamon over the apples. It was a hit!I did use a 9x13 pan lined with foil. Easier to cut.

Great recipe. I love cherry delight. I might try it with blueberry pie filling.

This has been one of my favorite recipes for 50 yrs. but I have never seen it made in a loaf pan. I make mine in a 9x9. How do you cut this into squares and remove from a loaf pan without a mess?

I used blueberry pie filling and it is really delicious.

I have been looking for a dessert from the 70's, this seems to be it except that crushed Club Crackers were used instead of the graham cracker crust. I am going to try the recipe with the Club Cracker substitution and see if this is the one I was looking for. The recipe also called for Dream Whip as aulait stated.

My Hunny enjoys this Dessert very much!Originally was made w/"Dream Whip" by His Dear Mother.May be less in hydrogenated fats than other "whipped creams".

My husband and I love this light and sweet dessert!  We may even prefer it to regular cheesecake!

Made this for father's day. Everyone loved it. I have a spouse that loves his dessert every evening. Making this he won't get bored with it before he eats it all !!!!
