Step 1
In a saucepan, bring 1 1/2 cups of water to a boil over medium heat, then stir in the uncooked rice. Reduce the heat to low, cover the saucepan, and let the rice simmer until it’s tender and has absorbed all the liquid, which should take about 20 minutes.

Step 3

Step 4
Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the butter and vanilla extract until combined.
