In a large bowl, beat the eggs until smooth and foamy.

Add in the milk, vanilla, flour, sugar and salt. Mix well.

Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Coat the surface in butter.

Dip the bread (one slice at a time) into the batter. Coat each side thoroughly. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes or until golden brown.

Serve with butter, syrup, and your choice of toppings.
