Combine salt and pepper. Season all sides of meat with a heavy coat of the salt and pepper mixture.Add A NoteIngredients1 (3-5 lb) tri-tip1/8 Cup pepper1/8 Cup salt

Place tri-tip directly on the grill grate and cook until it reaches an internal temperature of 130℉, this should take about 60 to 90 minutes.Probe: 130 ˚FAdd A Note

When tri-tip reaches 130℉, pull off the grill and wrap in foil.Probe: 130 ˚FAdd A Note
Step 5
Increase the Traeger temperature to 500°F and preheat, lid closed for 15 minutes.Grill: 500 ˚FAdd A Note

When grill comes to temperature, remove tri-tip from foil and sear for 4 minutes on each side.Grill: 500 ˚FAdd A Note
Step 7
