Lime Baked Tortilla Chips with Sea Salt

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees and line two baking sheets with foil.

Using a pizza slicer, cut tortillas into 8 triangles by cutting in quarters then eighths; place in a bowl.

Drizzle olive oil and salt over tortilla triangles and mix well so all tortillas are evenly coated in oil and salt.&nbsp;

Divide tortillas evenly between both baking sheets and spread out so that they are in an even layer. Bake for 18-25 minutes or until browned.&nbsp;

Sprinkle chips with lime zest and lime juice before serving with hummus or dip of choice.

Homemade Tortilla Chips

Corn tortillas (each tortilla makes 6 to 8 chips)

Prep: Stack tortillas to make cutting quicker, cutting into 6 or 8 wedges. Pour oil to fill a heavy-bottomed skillet (like a cast iron) ¼ to ½ inch deep, then heat over medium/high heat. Aim to keep the temperature around 360°F (182°C).

Fry: Working in batches, gently drop tortilla triangles into the hot oil. Fry for 2 to 3 minutes, flipping as needed, until chips are golden and crispy. Use a metal slotted spoon to remove tortilla chips, placing them on a few layers of paper towels to soak up excess oil. Immediately sprinkle with salt and let cool slightly before eating.

Prep: Preheat oven to 350°F (176°C). Lightly brush each tortilla with soybean oil. Stack tortillas and cut into 6 or 8 wedges.

Bake: Arrange triangles in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake for 6 minutes, flip each chip over, then continue baking for another 6 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Sprinkle warm tortilla chips with salt and enjoy!

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Cut 12 corn tortillas into quarters. Then cut quarters into halves creating 8 chips per tortilla.

Salt chips.

Bake 10 to 15 minutes depending on your baking sheet.  Darker baking sheets cook faster. They are done when completely crunchy. You may need to cook in multiple batches.

Let chips cool before serving. Store in airtight container. They should stay crispy up to a week.

Preheat the air fryer to 340°F, or preheat the oven to 350°F. Spray both sides of the tortillas with oil, or mist with water/lime. Sprinkle with salt. Stack the tortillas and cut into 8 wedges.

AIR FRYER Instructions: Place in a single layer in the air fryer basket, and air fry for about 6 minutes, checking on them at the halfway point AND once or twice during the last couple of minutes. The air may cause the chips to fly around inside the basket, making it impossible to keep them in a single layer. It&#39;s okay! Shake the basket as needed.Tip: Air fryers vary, so after an initial test batch you may need to adjust the temperature and/or time for your machine.

OVEN option: Place in a single layer on a large baking sheet. Bake for 8 minutes, flip the tortilla chips, and bake for another 7 to 10 minutes or until crisp and golden.

With three ingredients and just 10 minutes, you can have homemade baked tortilla chips anytime you want.

Easy 10 Minute Baked Tortilla Chips

corn tortillas (1 package, preferably organic)

spray oil (olive, avocado, etc.)

Cut tortillas into six triangles each using kitchen shears, pizza cutter or chef&#039;s knife. Spread into a single layer on a large cookie sheet (use more sheets if needed to fit single layers).

Spray triangles with olive oil - only the top side. Don&#039;t worry too much about perfection, but try to make sure every triangle has some oil on it. Sprinkle with salt.

Bake for 4 minutes. Remove pan and shake a bit to move chips around (or use a spatula) and return to oven for 2-3 more minutes, being careful not to burn them. Note: The shaking of the chips is to make sure the chips on the edges of the pan don&#039;t burn first - not to turn the chips. The chips will cook without turning, so don&#039;t waste time trying to turn each chip - but do make sure they stay in a single layer.If you do have some chips on the edge that are browning quicker, you can remove them and continue baking the rest.

Remove from oven and cool (they will crisp a bit more as they cool). Repeat with any additional cookie sheets, as needed. Add more salt if desired and serve immediately.*

I love these. I love tortilla chips but won’t fry because of the mess and I don’t like the calories. These fill that need perfectly!!
