This Halloween Candy Bark is a super easy and yummy treat! This is really fun to make with your kids. You can melt the chocolate and let them sprinkle on their favorite candies.

Halloween Candy Bark

Preheat oven to 300 degrees.  Line a cookie sheet with wax paper or baking paper.  Pour out the first bag of chocolate chips so that they are close together but not stacked on top of each other.

Put the cookie sheet in the oven, and watch closely.  When chocolate chips begin to look shiny and just starting to melt, pull tray out and smooth the chocolate out with a spatula.

Sprinkle on half of your candies then layer on the second bag of chocolate chips.  Put in the oven again and when the second layer of chocolate chips begin to look shiny and a little melty, remove, smooth out chocolate, and sprinkle on more candy.

Let the bark sit out at room temperature until completely hardened.  Break the bark into serving size pieces and place onto a serving plate or bowl.

This salty and sweet chocolate bark is a super easy holiday variation of classic Chocolate 'Crack.'

Peppermint 'Crack' Recipe

51 saltine crackers (approximately)

unsalted butter

dark brown sugar

vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a 12 x 17 inch jelly roll pan with foil. Place saltine crackers salt side up and side-by-side in the pan as tightly as possible without overlapping. Use saltine pieces to fill any gaps at the bottom of the pan. Set aside. Chop chocolate so pieces are about the size of standard chocolate chips and set aside.

In a medium saucepan melt butter over medium heat stirring frequently with a spatula. Once butter has melted, add brown sugar and vanilla stirring to combine. Cook for about 5 minutes or until mixture is an even dark brown color and has begun to bubble. Remove from heat and pour over saltines using spatula to spread sauce.

Bake crackers for 5 minutes or until butter mixture begins to bubble. Remove from oven and sprinkle evenly with chocolate allowing the heat to melt the chocolate. Spread chocolate evenly with the spatula so all of the crackers are completely covered.  

Let the chocolate cool slightly, so that it it cool to the touch, but not hardened. Sprinkle crushed candy canes or peppermints evenly on top and refrigerate until chocolate sets and hardens. Break apart and serve.

Line a sheet pan with parchment paper.

Beat soften cream cheese and powdered sugar substitute in a large mixing bowl with an electric hand mixer.

Add in the yogurt and vanilla and mix for 1 -2 minutes until mixture starts to become fluffier.

Scoop cream cheese mixture into your prepared pan and spread until it is about 1/2&quot; thick.

Pour melted dark chocolate on top and use a toothpick to swirl into the bark.

Sprinkle strawberries and walnuts on top. Press them gently into the bark so they will stay in place.

Freeze for about 3 hours, or until set.

Cut and serve. Keep in freezer to store.

Place the two types of chocolate into two microwave-safe bowls, and microwave in 30 second intervals at 70% power, stirring after each time, until melted. It should take 3-4 intervals. Be very careful not to overheat the chocolate. Stop microwaving if only little bits of chocolate are left, as there should be enough residual heat to melt the rest.

Spread the dark chocolate into a large rectangle on parchment paper or a silicone mat to your desired thickness. I like it about 1/4&quot; thick.

Drop the melted white chocolate in piles on top of the dark chocolate. Using the tip of a spoon or a butter knife, swirl the two together. If high peaks remain from swirling, drop the tray on the table a few times to flatten it together.

If you have time, toast the nuts/seeds: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Toast the nuts/seeds on a rimmed baking sheet until fragrant and turning lightly golden on the edges, about 6 to 9 minutes. Transfer the nuts to a cutting board and roughly chop them.

In the meantime, melt the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second increments, stirring after each one. Don&#8217;t overdo it. The chocolate is done when it&#8217;s about 90% melted—keep stirring off the heat and the pieces should completely dissolve. (Alternately, you can use melt it in a heat-proof bowl set over a saucepan of gently simmering water.)

Cover a large, rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper. Use a silicone or rubber spatula to spread chocolate evenly over the center area of the baking sheet—aim for about 1/4&#8243; thickness (it won&#8217;t reach the edges).

Sprinkle the nuts evenly over the chocolate, followed by the dried fruit. If you&#8217;re adding flaky salt, crush it between your fingers as you sprinkle it over the chocolate. Lightly use your palms to press the toppings into the chocolate.

If you&#8217;re in a hurry, place the pan on a flat surface in the refrigerator to harden for about 15 minutes. If you&#8217;re not, let the chocolate cool at room temperature for 2 to 4 hours, until completely hardened.

Once the chocolate is completely hardened, use your hands to break it into about 25 pieces. Serve immediately, or cover and store at room temperature for up to 1 week.

I was baking cookies for a potluck yesterday and ran into a major issue and had to toss them along with my baking trays :/ my BF picked up some pure baking chocolate on his way home and I was able to quickly make this instead. Everyone loved it and I didn’t get to take any home!

Well at first I put it in a cookie sheet and put in the freezer, then try to spatula it out and my nuts and stuff didn’t stick , so I put the whole think in the oven to melt a bit ,then when melted mixed  it together, put back in the freezer , cut it / broke it apart from the 8x9 pan and it great ! Hi Kate, I was introduced to your blog by a friend and I have been making the healthy banana bread and zucchini brownies since a few months now, it's amazingly simple to make and sooooo healthy...also it's mostly a hit with friends and family..i recently subscribed to your site..... I am Planning to make these barks for toddlers, can I blend the roasted nuts into a paste and add them to chocolate, skip the dried fruits... So that it's mostly chocolate visible to kids but had the goodness of Dryfruits as well.. Also will only salt do instead of sea salt

I made it. ...soo easy. ..so wick. .so good...I used semi sweet chips...topped with walnuts. .dried cranberries..almonds. .and pumpkin seeds

So we took all the remnants of pretzels, nuts, granola, dried berries and decided to try this.  Awesome and easy and sooo delicious.  My teens are loving it.

I had a little trouble with the chocolate setting up. I let it cool on the counter 10 minutes and then put it in the fridge for an hour. It firmed up somewhat but as soon as you touched it to break it up it was melting all over our fingers. Has anyone else had this problem? And what did you do to fix it, please. Thank you

I used choc chip semi sweet it didn’t get hard feels sticky on fingers love taste cranberries pistachio raisins sunflower seeds few pecans was wondering if it all can be incorporated into the melted chocolate then lay it flat

Reading this receipe over gave me a great idea. I melted my bag og Geradeli white chocolate chips and spread out evenly. Next I sprinkled dried cranberries over the top. I used a fine grater on several naval oranges and sprinkled over the top. I then added roasted pistachios. Not only did it taste delicious it was beautiful and festive. Thank you.

Melt

Place the white chocolate and dark chocolate into 2 seperate heat-safe bowls. Microwave them each in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval, until the chocolate is melted and smooth.

Spread

Pour the dark/semi-sweet chocolate onto a silicone mat or piece of parchment paper and spread the chocolate out to a thin layer, about 1/8-inch thick, using the back of a spoon or spatula.

Pipe

Place the melted white chocolate into a pastry bag or sandwich bag. Cut off a small tip and pipe swirls or circles randomly over the chocolate.

Design

Gently drag a toothpick or butter knife, through the white chocolate to create what looks like spider webs or a marbled effect.  

Refrigerate

Allow the bark to fully harden at room temperature or place in the refrigerator for 15-30 minutes to quickly harden.

Store

Break the bark into small pieces and store it in an airtight container in a cool, dark, dry area (like the refrigerator) for up to 2 weeks.

150 g (¾ cup) caster sugar

0.5 tsp baking powder

0.25 tsp bicarbonate of soda (baking soda)

65 g (¼ cup + 1 tbsp) unsalted butter, melted

150 g (1 cup + 2 tbsp) dark chocolate

tbsp morello cherry conserve

220 ml (¾ cup + 3 tbsp) double (heavy) cream, cold

icing sugar

275 g (2 cup + 2 tbsp) dark chocolate, broken into chunks

265 ml (1 cup + 2 tbsp) double (heavy) cream

Preheat the oven to 180C/350F. Lightly brush a 13”x9” swiss roll tin with melted butter, line the base of the tin with parchment paper, then brush lightly again to stick the paper down evenly. Set aside.

Into a small bowl, sift together the flour and cocoa.

Place the eggs, sugar, baking powder, bicarbonate of soda and salt into the bowl of a stand mixer. Using the whisk attachment, whisk at a medium-low speed for 3 minutes to combine and dissolve the sugar. The mixture will have fine bubbles throughout.

Increase the speed to medium-high and whisk until thickened and pale with fine, foamy bubbles, around 5 minutes of beating time.

Increase the speed again to high and whisk the eggs mixture until pale and doubled in size, another 5 minutes.

Reduce the speed to medium low and drizzle in the melted butter and vanilla, mixing together. Immediately reduce the speed to low and add in the sifted flour and cocoa powder, mixing until nearly combined. Turn the mixer off, detach the whisk attachment and use it to finish folding the flour in by hand, to avoid losing too much air from the mixture.

Carefully pour the mixture evenly over the pan, then gently tip the pan to spread the cake mixture out across the pan. Use an offset spatula to help, if required.

Gently drop the pan twice on your worktop to help level the mixture. Bake until puffed and firm to the touch, but still soft enough to hold a shallow impression when gently poked, about 12 minutes.

Immediately after removing the baked cake from the oven, place on a cooling rack and cover tightly with some foil, crimping around the sides to seal. This keeps the cake moist whilst cooling, so it will roll more smoothly and not crack. Allow to cool to room temperature, about 30-60 minutes.
