Simple Hummus Without Tahini

Add the garbanzo beans, 2 tablespoons of water, the olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, cumin, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt to a food processor. Process until smooth and creamy. If needed, add additional water to thin out the hummus and 1/4 teaspoon of salt to your taste preference.

Store covered in the refrigerator.

Place chickpeas in a blender or food processor with garlic, lemon juice, paprika, cumin and reserved liquid from the canned chickpeas. Blend or puree until very smooth, adding more liquid or lemon juice as needed to thin out to desired consistency. Season with salt and pepper and add 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil to help achieve a super creamy texture, if desired.

Serve on pitas, crackers, veggies, or sandwiches. Adjust seasonings as you like and sprinkle with red chili flakes if desired.

Peel the garlic. Drain the chickpeas into a liquid measuring cup. Juice the lemon.

Add the garlic to the bowl of a food processor and process until finely chopped. Add chickpeas, lemon juice, tahini, kosher salt, and 2 tablespoons water from the chickpea can (aquafaba). Puree for 30 seconds, then scrape down the bowl. Taste. If necessary, add 1 to 2 tablespoons aquafaba. Puree for 1 to 2 minutes to come to a creamy consistency. Store refrigerated for 7 to 10 days.

If desired, make the garnish: toast the pinenuts in a dry skillet for a few minutes, stirring frequently, until golden brown (or bake in a single layer on a rimmed baking sheet for 6 to 8 minutes at 350F).

Top the hummus with cilantro leaves, a sprinkle of paprika, a drizzle of olive oil, and toasted pinenuts. Serve with veggies, pita bread, or crackers (like these homemade crackers!)

Place lemon juice, garlic cloves, tahini paste,olive oil and water in a food processor, and whip this up until creamy.

Add the salt, pepper, cumin, chickpeas and blend until really smooth. Add more cold water, a tablespoon at a time, until it is the consistency you like, and blend for 3 more minutes.

Taste and adjust salt and lemon. Add any optional additions you like.

To serve, spoon the hummus into a wide, shallow bowl or onto a plate or platter, using the back of your spoon to create a &#8220;well&#8221; for the olive oil (or other sauces). Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with Za&#8217;atar.

How to make the Best Hummus

This homemade Hummus recipe is authentic, delicious, and better than anything you can buy! It&#39;s made with chickpeas (garbanzo beans), garlic, lime, tahini, and spices. You won&#39;t believe how easy it is to make!

15 oz can chickpeas (garbanzo beans)* (, reserve liquid from can)

Tablespoons tahini*

Prep Chickpeas: Drain the canned beans, reserving the liquid from the can. (See notes for using dry chickpeas*). If time permits, peel the outer skin away each individual chickpea. This will result in very soft and smooth hummus.

In a food processor add beans, tahini, garlic, salt, sumac, cumin, and juice from half of a lime. Blend well, adding small amounts of reserved bean liquid (or water), until you reach a smooth, creamy texture. Taste and add additional salt, if needed.

Garnish: Add mixture to a bowl and use a small spoon to make a swirl on top of the hummus . Drizzle a little extra virgin olive oil on top and sprinkle sumac around the edges. Squeeze additional 1/2 lime on top.

Enjoy with pita bread, pita chips, fresh veggies, on sandwiches, with gyros or chicken shawarma bowls.

Store leftover hummus in a covered container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.

Place all of the ingredients, except for the garnish, in a food processor.

Blend for 2-3 minutes in 30-second increments, or until it looks mostly creamy. It may not be completely creamy, but that is normal and it'll taste creamy - I promise!

Heat the oven to 180°C and add the Tenderstem to a baking tray then drizzle with olive oil, salt and pepper. Roast for 15 min, until tender and charred.

In the meantime, heat oil in a small saucepan. Once hot, add the sunflower seeds and cook for 3-5 mins, until golden. Pour everything into a small bowl and add the smoked paprika and cumin seeds. Season lightly with salt.

Slice the fennel finely, then toss with the lemon juice and chilli flakes. Finely chop the parsley. 

Tip the chickpeas and their juice into a saucepan, heating them gently. Take off the heat and add tahini, grated garlic, and the rest of the lemon juice. Give it a good mix, then mash with a masher or fork until smooth-ish, season with salt and pepper. 

Spoon the warmed chickpeas into shallow bowls and add the fennel salad and broccoli. Drizzle with the sunflower seed oil and scatter with parsley. Serve with flatbreads.

This deliciously creamy homemade Hummus is super simple to make. No need for soaking beans overnight - just grab a few simple ingredients and your food processor, and you can pull together this tasty Mediterranean snack.

In a medium pot, add drained and rinsed garbanzo beans. Cover with 3 cups of water and allow to come to a simmer over medium heat. Add the baking soda and stir. Reduce heat to medium-low and allow to gently simmer for 10-15 minutes. Remove pot from heat. Drain and rinse beans to stop the cooking.

Once water has cooled off beans, using hands, gently rub garbanzo beans between the palms helping to remove the skin from the beans. Place on a dry paper towel on a flat surface. Once all beans have been skinned, cover with a separate paper towel and swirl the beans to help remove any additional excess skin.

Add beans to a food processor. Add garlic and pulse several times until the beans have a more powdery consistency.

Next, add the salt, tahini, ice cubes, and lemon juice. Run the food processor for about 5 minutes, scraping down the sides several times during the process. Add one tablespoon hot water at a time, to help thin the hummus until it reaches the desired consistency.

Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, until ready to serve. Top with a tablespoon of olive oil and sprinkle with smoked paprika. Serve with your favorite veggies, or pita chips!

Drain and rinse the canned chickpeas (garbanzo beans). Depending on your personal preference, you can remove all or half of the skin/husks or leave them on. I always leave them on.

Add the tahini and lemon juice to the food processor. Process for 1 minute, scraping the sides and bottom of the bowl, then process for another 30 seconds. It will help make the chickpeas and tahini creamy and smooth.

Add the minced garlic, olive oil, ground cumin, salt, and pepper to the blender. Process for 30 seconds, scrape the sides and bottom of the bowl, then process another 30 seconds or until well blended.

With the food processor running, slowly add 2 to 3 tablespoons of water until the hummus is smooth and creamy. If it&#39;s still too thick, add more water until you reach your desired consistency.

To serve, scrape the hummus into a bowl (or individual mini bowls), then drizzle about one tablespoon of olive oil and sprinkle with paprika, toasted pine nuts, and chopped parsley. Hummus is best at room temperature.
