Place the potatoes in a large pot and cover with cold water. Add the salt. Bring to a boil over high heat and cook until the potatoes are fork-tender, about 20 minutes longer.

Drain the potatoes and press through a potato ricer into a large bowl. Set aside.

Heat the butter, cream, and milk in a small pot over low heat until simmering.

Pour the cream mixture over the potatoes and stir to combine. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

Note: A potato ricer gives these potatoes a super fluffy texture, but you can use a hand masher if you don’t own one.

Ultimate Mashed Potatoes Recipe by Tasty

lb yukon gold potato

On a cutting board, peel the potatoes. Place the potatoes in a large bowl of cold water after peeling to avoid discoloration.

Cut the potatoes into 1-inch (2 cm) cubes.

Add the potatoes to a large pot and cover with cold water. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 12 minutes.

In a small saucepan, bring the milk, heavy cream, and garlic to a simmer over low heat.

Remove the pot from the heat and strain the cream through a fine mesh sieve.

Drain the potatoes in a colander and transfer back to the pot.

Mash the potatoes with a potato masher, potato ricer, or by pushing through a fine mesh sieve with a spatula.

Add the cubed cold butter and salt. Stir to combine.

Gradually add the cream mixture to the potatoes, little by little, until fully incorporated.

Top with freshly ground black pepper and sprinkle with chives and serve.

Chunky, Skin-On Mashed Potatoes Recipe by Tasty

lb red bliss potato, skin on, quartered

unsalted butter, 1 stick, cubed

garlic, minced

Add the potatoes to a large pot and cover with cold water. Add the salt. Bring to a boil over high heat and cook until the potatoes are fork-tender, about 20 minutes longer. Drain and return to the pot. Set aside.

In a small pot over medium heat, bring the butter, cream, and garlic to a simmer. Once simmering, remove from the heat.

Pour the cream mixture over the potatoes. Add the sour cream, then mash with a hand masher until the potatoes are creamy, but still very chunky. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

Note: Any small waxy potato would work well in this recipe — such as Yukon Golds or new potatoes.

(60 milliliters) extra virgin olive oil

(280 grams) Greek-style yoghurt

Butter beans, (large) drained and rinsed or use

parsley

Gently heat the oil in a heavy-based saucepan then add the onion and cook for 5 minutes until the onion begins to soften.

Add the garlic and smoked paprika and cook for a further 30 seconds.

Add the oregano, chopped tomatoes and sugar and season with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Simmer the tomato sauce until it thickens, about 5 minutes.

Add the drained and rinsed butter beans and stir to combine. Simmer gently until the beans are heated through. Stir through the parsley.

Serve hot with any of the suggestions below.

Mom's Secret Ingredient Mashed Potatoes

Russet potatoes

unsalted butter

mayonnaise

Wash, peel, and cut the potatoes into 1-inch cubes. (You&#x27;ll want them to be as close in size as possible so they cook evenly.) Place the potatoes into a large pot and just cover with water.  Add 2 teaspoons of salt and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to a low boil, stirring occasionally, and cook for 15 to 20 minutes or until the potatoes are tender when pierced with a fork.

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add the butter, mayonnaise, and milk.  Use a potato masher to mash the potatoes to your liking. (You can also use a hand mixer to mash the poatotes, just be cautious not to over mix or they may become paste-like.)  Mix well. Add more milk if necessary to get them to a smooth consistency.  Add salt and pepper to taste.  Serve with melted butter on top, if desired.

Twice-Baked Loaded Potatoes Recipe by Tasty

cheddar cheese, divided

½ cup scallions, thinly sliced, divided

Rub each potato with 1 teaspoon of oil, and prick the top with a fork.

Place the potatoes on a rimmed baking sheet and bake for 1 hour.

Transfer potatoes to a cutting board, and cut in half.

Using a spoon, gently scoop out the inside flesh of the potatoes and transfer to a medium bowl. Reserve the skins.

Add the sour cream, melted butter, salt, pepper, ½ of the shredded cheese, and ½ of the scallions, and combine with a hand mixer until smooth.

Use a spoon to transfer the potato mixture back into the scooped out potato skins.

Sprinkle the potatoes with remaining cheese, and bake for 5 more minutes, until the cheese is melted.

Top with sour cream, bacon, and the remaining scallions.

Creamy Garlic Mashed Cauliflower

cauliflower (or 16 oz bag frozen cauliflower)

unsalted butter (or olive oil)

garlic (minced)

Rinse and cut cauliflower into florets. Steam or blanch cauliflower for 10 minutes or until the fork-tender and soft. Remove from heat and drain well.

While the cauliflower is cooking, heat butter over medium-high heat in a small saucepan. Add the garlic and Sautee for 1-2 minutes or until the garlic fragrant and begins to turn golden.

Remove from heat and add to a large food processor along with cooked cauliflower, parmesan, and cream cheese. Season with a dash of salt and pepper, to taste.

Blend until the cauliflower is smooth and resembles the texture of mashed potatoes. Alternatively, mash with a masher until it looks like mashed potatoes.

Serve with pats of butter and herbs of choice.

Lentil Mushroom Stew with Mashed Cauliflower

green lentils

oat milk (or other nondairy milk)

In a medium pot, heat the olive oil on 75% heat. Add the onion and cook for 2 minutes, then add the garlic and mushrooms and cook until shrunken. Add in the lentils and all the seasonings (including soy sauce) and stir for about a minute. Pour in the milk and broth and simmer on medium high heat for 25 minutes, stirring occasionally.

To make the cauliflower, blend (or mash) all the ingredients together. Serve with the lentils.

Chickpea Avocado Mash with Lemon

Rinse and drain chickpeas and place in a medium bowl. Mash with a potato masher. (Mash thoroughly for a smoother consistency, or not as much for chunky texture. I prefer a chunkier texture.)

Cut avocado in half and remove pit and peel. Place avocado flesh in bowl. Add lemon juice, salt/pepper, and any other desired additions.

Lightly mash again to combine. Serve immediately or refrigerate covered for 2-3 days. (Though it&#39;s best when fresh!)

This was wonderful!! We're out camping and this is a fantastic lunch to make. I didn't want to pack avocados, so I bought the organic Wholly Guacamole minis instead. I used two minis in place of 1 avocado, and it worked like a charm! Added diced celery and raisins (like in your curried version). So delighted to have this as a simple camping lunch.

This recipe has been added to my rotating menu! I added the "mash" to a whole grain tortilla, then a couple lettuce leaves, sliced tomato, and another dash of salt &amp; pepper. Brilliant! Thank you! Tammy J.
