Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add tequila, lime juice, Simple Syrup and orange liqueur. Cover and shake until mixed and chilled, about 30 seconds. (In general, the drink is ready by the time the shaker mists up.) Place Lime-salt-sugar on a plate. Press the rim of a chilled rocks or wine glass into the mixture to rim the edge. Strain margarita into the glass. 

Put the sugar and water in a small saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring, until the sugar dissolves. (Alternatively, heat in the microwave.) Store in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 1 month. 

Blend together lime, salt and sugar in a small blender or mini food chopper. 

I made these for a Mexican dinner and they were absolutely delicious!  My daughter introduced me to this recipe a couple of years ago but she didn’t bother with the salt mixture.  I followed the recipe exactly, including the lime-salt-sugar for “frosting” the glasses’ rims, and my daughter agreed that prepared this way, the drinks were truly spectacular.  I wish I had one in my hand right now!  

Very good, very strong! I recommend adding an extra splash of simple syrup. And use good tequila.

Good proportions, but instead of simple syrup, try using agave nectar.  :)

This is a authentic delicious margarita recipe. Your friends will love it too. I will be making again. Just need to figure out how to make more than one at a time!

This margarita recipe is a must! Not too sweet and the perfect amount of juice and tequila! Made these for a cinco de mayo party and everyone loved them!

A little sweet for my tastes but still great on a warm day.

I found that the recipe required 3 oz simple syrup and 2 tsp orange liquer.

Followed the exact recipe but combined Grand Marnier and Dekuyper triple sec.  Perfect! Refreshing and no one flavor overwhelmed the others.  Wonderful Blend!  Fresh lime is a must, and so (I suspect) is having top grade tequila - agave blue aged.  On-the-rocks makes a difference in quality of tequilas.  My guests raved ("best margarita ever!" etc.) 

Fresh is best! Margaritas really shine when they are simple and made with the best freshest ingredients. The most amazing Margaritas my husband and I ever had was outside the Tulum Mayan ruins from a little man in a lean-to hut, squeezing limes and pouring the good tequila. This recipe is very reminiscent of that spectacular memorable moment. ¡Salud!

Tequila Sunrise

High-quality maraschino cherry,

In a highball glass filled with ice, pour in the tequila and orange juice. Slowly pour the grenadine into the glass over the back of a spoon or by drizzling it down the side of the glass, allowing it to settle at the bottom. Garnish with an orange slice and maraschino cherry.

I'm a drinker, but not a tequila drinker. However, these are good, mild, smooth, refreshing, super easy! We're on number three now, working in the garden, grilling a chicken, listening to the Beatles. I would MUCH rather have these than margaritas any day!

I really like this recipe. Not sure why - but the word sunrise in the name makes me think it’s a hair of the dog, summer, morning/afternoon drink. For this reason I added a little bit of brut champagne/sparkling wine to the drink to give it some fizz and boy oh boy was it good. Definitely will be making this again. I like adding sparkling to cocktails from time to time, especially to ones that call for orange juice. Yum yum yum. 

Delightful. Husband and I had them Sunday. We are planning on serving them to our family for a Mexican themed dinner in July, but will definitely be having more of them before then. Lovely technique with the grenadine and the spoon to get it to the bottom. Really super, Geoffrey!

Making it with fresh squeezed orange juice is the way to go. Very pretty drink. 

Slushy margaritas are just one more thing you can throw together in your ice cream maker. You can even make and chill the sweetened tequila-lime base ahead of time so that your cocktails churn up more quickly.

Ice Cream Maker Margaritas

Food Network Kitchen’s Ice Cream Maker Margaritas for One-Off Recipes, as seen on Food Network.

Combine the sugar and 1/3 cup water in a small saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring, until the sugar dissolves, about 5 minutes. Let cool completely.

Whisk together the tequila, lime juice, cooled sugar syrup, orange liqueur and 1 cup cold water in a medium bowl. Freeze until slushy in an ice cream maker according to the manufacturer's instructions, about 45 minutes (see Cook's Note). Transfer the frozen margaritas to a chilled pitcher. Store in the freezer until ready to serve. 

Fill a small plate with an even layer of salt. Moisten the rims of 4 chilled rocks or wine glasses and press into the salt to rim the edges. Divide the margaritas among the glasses. Serve with lime wedges.

Mango Margaritas

Begin by zesting the limes. Pour the coarse sugar over the lime zest and toss with your fingers to combine. Set aside. 

Throw the mango chunks into a blender. Top off the blender with ice. Pour in the tequila and triple sec. Add the granulated sugar and squeeze in the juice of the limes. Blend until completely smooth, adding more ice if necessary to get the consistency you want. Use a piece of one of the limes to moisten the rims of the glasses. Dip the rims in the lime sugar. Pour the drinks and serve immediately.

This was an amazing recipe.  I used pineapple instead of mango because that’s what I had in the freezer.  I also reduced the sugar by half but replaced the other half with agave syrup.  Will indeed make these again.  

Anyone know about how much ice one should have? Looks delicious!

Thank you Ree Drummond! Made this yesterday for the 4th of July! This is my new favorite cocktail! I have a small freezer and can't hold much ice, so I bought four 10oz bags frozen mango chunks and didn't need to use any ice. My blender is smaller, so I had to halve the recipe to make two batches, each serving four, instead of one batch that served 8. The lime zest mixed with sugar for the rim was wonderful. I may need to have a margarita night once a week just to make these. Absolutely amazing!

Addictive!  Mine wouldn’t get real frothy though but still yummy!

Excellent! I halved the recipe and used one fresh mango. Perfect for 2 people! 

It’s a good recipe.  I would use it again.  I felt like it needs a little something more though.

These were amazing! Will double the batch next time; just enough for 4 people.

In a large punch bowl, add the scoops of lemon, mango and raspberry sorbet. Add the pineapple juice, then the ginger ale. Garnish with the lime and lemon wheels. If adding tequila, pour it directly into the punch bowl, or add it to individual glasses.

Made this today for a Mother’s Day luncheon.   Recipe looked interesting, but I wasn’t sure about these ingredients together.  Decided to trust GZ and so glad I did.  It was a big hit, even with the guys!  Didn’t add any alcohol as this was a family party, but I think it would be fantastic with tequila. Will try it next time.

This was easy, refreshing and really good.  I have to wonder if there was a typo when this was first posted.  I cannot see anyway anyone could have read pinapple tequilla in this recipe, let alone two people.  

Very good and I don't understand how reviewers thought the recipe said pineapple tequila.

went to 4 liquor stores. no one ever heard of it. tried plain tequilla and i didn''t think it was that good. i am sure the pineapple tequilla would have made the difference.

unsalted butter, melted

For the crust: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Process the graham crackers and sugar in a food processor to a fine crumb. Add the melted butter and tequila, and pulse until moist. Press the crumbs into a 9-inch pie plate, and bake until firm, 12 to 15 minutes. Let the crust cool completely on a wire rack.

For the filling: Whisk together the condensed milk, limeade, tequila, lime juice, liqueur and salt in a large bowl until smooth and combined. Beat the cream with an electric mixer fitted with a whisk attachment on medium-high speed in another large bowl until stiff peaks form. Reduce the speed to low, and drizzle in the condensed milk mixture. Return the mixer to medium-high, and beat until the mixture is completely incorporated and fluffy, about 30 seconds, stopping to scrape down the side of the bowl if necessary. Transfer the filling to the cooled crust, cover loosely with plastic wrap and freeze until firm, at least 6 hours or overnight.

Transfer the pie to the refrigerator 30 minutes before serving. Garnish with lime wedges dipped in salt, and serve.

Caramelized Spanish Onion, recipe follows

Lime wedged and sliced,

canola oil

Spanish onion, peeled, halved, thinly sliced

Combine into a pitcher the tomato juice, orange juice, tequila, lime juice, agave, hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, onion, chile, and pepper. Stir to combine, cover and refrigerate. In a shallow bowl or plate, combine the smoked paprika and salt. Moisten the rim of the glass with a lime wedge, and dip into the paprika-salt mixture. Put ice into a glass, and pour the mixture over and garnish with a lime slice.;

Heat 1 tablespoon canola oil in a medium saute pan over medium heat, then add the onion and cook, stirring occasionally, until golden brown and caramelized, about 25 minutes. Let cool before adding to the drink.;

Delicious!  I saw this on his show and really wanted to try it. I altered the ingredients just to make one glass. I used Cabo Wabo tequila and mango Tabasco. I really like the paprika salt rim!  Will make again hopefully with the caramelized onions. This is a great alternative to a bloody Mary. I highly suggest it!

Yes, this is a Sangrita. It's a mix between a Sangria and Margarita.  And, it's delicious. 

That's not a Sangrita recipe. Sangrita has no alcohol in it. You sip it after sipping your good tequila.

A great recipe.  I altered it slightly by using the juice of 6 limes instead of 5 and Camarena Reposado tequila instead of white tequila. The end result is a perfectly balanced, well-rounded margarita. Also, it's very important to freshly juice the fruit as others have recommended. Thank you, Ina!

Really good! But don't try to save time and juice the limes/lemons ahead of time. The juice just gets really bitter :( I've done that before. You must freshly juice the fruit. If you find they are too strong just serve them as Margartinis and serve in a martini glass. Yum!

These were the best margaritas I've ever had.  I served this at a Mexican dinner party I had. They were a hit and so easy to make.

I made this for my bunco club.  First these are strong -- REALLY STRONG.  Reviewers that said you need a designated driver were not kidding.  The first sip left me coughing a little.  I will say that I'm normally a red wine drinker and don't usually do liquor, so that may have been it??  There was absolutely no sweetness in these.  I'm not a big syrupy drink person but this was way too sour and strong.  The women in my bunco club couldn't drink these.  What a bummer.  I had to send my husband out for margarita mix (yuck).  I like the sound of Alton Brown's recipe.  It calls for agave sweet syrup - but you can use simple syrup.  You can make it as sweet  or sour as you like and there's no overwhelming taste of tequila.  I honestly didn't like this drink at all.  Margaritas, to me, are a fun drink - We were celebrating Cinco de Mayo.  This recipe is not fun at all.  It's a get drunk drink, laced with lime juice.  

These have become a summertime staple in our house.  They're fantastic!  We're throwing a big birthday bash in a couple of weeks and will be making these by the pitcher!

This was easily the best margarita I've ever had! Even the non-margarita drinking people loved them. I was concerned about sweetness after reading the reviews because I do like a sweet margarita, but it was perfect and I did not need to add any type of sweetener. Be warned, you definitely need a designated driver!

Put the tequila, lime juice, agave, egg white and jalapeno in a cocktail shaker and muddle the jalapeno. Add large ice cubes, shake vigorously and single-strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice. Garnish with a lime wedge and serve.

This is our new favorite margarita! Not too sweet, not too heavy. Never would have thought to use egg whites in a cocktail but  it turned out fabulous.

Tequila Lime Chicken

gold tequila

lime juice (5 to 6 limes)

orange juice (2 oranges)

chili powder

jalapeno pepper (1 pepper seeded)

garlic (3 cloves)

(6 split) boneless chicken breasts, skin-on

Tequila lime chicken is placed into a casserole dish with a set of tongs.

Combine the tequila, lime juice, orange juice, chili powder, jalapeno pepper, garlic, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Add the chicken breasts. Refrigerate overnight.

Heat a grill with coals and brush the rack with oil to prevent the chicken from sticking. Remove the chicken breasts from the marinade, sprinkle well with salt and pepper, and grill them skin-side down for about 5 minutes, until nicely browned. Turn the chicken and cook for another 10 minutes, until just cooked through. Remove from the grill to a plate. Cover tightly and allow to rest for 5 minutes. Serve hot or at room temperature.

This has been a staple recipe for me, for almost 3 years now.  It is fairly simple and so flavorful.  

My boys are firefighters and I’m always testing recipes for them to make at the firehouse. I really really wanted this to work with a fabulous lime avocado mango salad.  I followed the recipe to the letter. Chicken came out gummy and the flavors didn’t really pop like I had expected after marinating overnight. I’m thinking I may still try the marinade with a flank steak. But this chicken was meh. 

Excellent! Don’t forget to salt and pepper prior to grilling though
