Lemon Garlic Butter Baked Fish

butter

garlic cloves,

lemon

½ fish

EACH: sea salt and pepper

Preheat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. 

Melt the butter in a small frying pan over medium heat. Add the garlic and let it cook for 1 minute. Zest the lemon (preferably with a Microplane) and add it to the butter. 

Thinly slice the zested lemon and place the slices in the bottom of a baking dish. If there are extras, save them for the top of the fish. 

Dry the fish with paper towels, season both sides with salt and pepper, then lay the fish on top of the lemon slices. Spoon or brush the garlic butter over the fish.

Bake the fish for 10-12 minutes, or until it flakes easily with a fork. Serve with a little parsley sprinkled over the top for color.

Super easy way to prepare haddock! Came out delicious. Served over farro with roasted asparagus, and drizzled some of the leftover butter sauce over the top. Yum!

This looks quick and easy. Most importantly, I think my son will actually eat it. He is not a fish lover. Fish was a staple when I grew up. We lived very close the Baltic Sea and a fish monger would come around once a week with fresh caught fish. The grocery stores of course had fish as well.

Baked Fish 

Crispy Fried Tilapia cooked in a tasty sweet and sour sauce.

Sweet and Sour Tilapia

tilapia (cleaned)

Knorr Liquid Seasoning

red bell pepper (julienne)

green bell pepper (julienne)

carrot (julienne)

garlic (crushed)

onion (sliced)

thumbs ginger (julienne)

cornstarch

water

white vinegar

tomato ketchup

white sugar

cooking oil

Salt and black pepper

Apply Knorr Liquid Seasoning all over the tilapia. Let it stand for 10 minutes so that the fish can absorb the flavor of the seasoning.

Heat around 1 cup of cooking oil in a pan. Once the oil gets hot, fry the fish until the color turns golden brown. Flip to fry the opposite side. Remove from the pan. Place on a clean plate. Set aside.

Make the sauce by heating 3 tablespoons of cooking oil in a cooking pot. Saute onion and garlic for 10 seconds. Add ginger. Saute for 12 seconds.

Pour white vinegar and water. Let boil.

Add tomato ketchup. Stir until it completely dilutes in the mixture.

Add sugar. Stir until the sugar gets fully incorporated.

Put carrots and bell peppers. Cook for 3 minutes.

Combine cornstarch and 3 tablespoons water. Mix well. Pour into the cooking pot. Stir until sauce thickens.

Season with salt and ground black pepper. Add a piece of tilapia and cook for 3 minutes.

Transfer to a serving plate. Serve with rice. Share and enjoy!

Garlic Butter Baked Tilapia

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Grease an 9x13 baking pan with cooking spray*. In a small bowl, whisk together butter, parsley, onion powder, paprika, garlic and lemon juice. Set aside.

Season tilapia with salt and pepper, to taste and place onto the prepared baking dish.

Pour the butter mixture over the tilapia fillets.

Place into oven and bake for about 10-12 minutes or until tilapia flakes easily with a fork. Serve immediately with rice, cauliflower rice, mashed potato, mashed cauliflower or roasted veggies.

This 5 ingredient tilapia recipe with miso butter is a delicious dinner, which is ready in 15 minutes. I always love easy, 15 minute dinner recipes that are also very kid friendly!

5 Ingredient Tilapia with Miso Butter

tilapia fillets

In a small bowl melt butter in the microwave (usually 30 seconds for me). Whisk in miso paste until mixed. 

In a nonstick pan over medium-high heat add 1/2 of the butter/miso mixture and the tilapia fillets. Cook 6-8 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the tilapia fillets are coked through and browned on both sides. Note: don&#39;t flip the fish more than once, otherwise it will fall apart.

Sprinkle tilapia with salt while it&#39;s cooking if it&#39;s desire (I usually just add a pinch, but it&#39;s fine without it if using salted butter.)

Cook green beans and rice (I use frozen green beans which can be steamed/cooked in the microwave and 90 second rice).

Divide rice and beans on plates, top with tilapia fillet, and then drizzle/spoon remaining butter/miso mixture onto the tilapia.

Baked Tilapia with Mustard Sauce

1.5 lbs Fish, 4-5 tilapia fish fillets, skinless

Oz Creme Fraiche, sour cream

whole-grain mustard

Capers,

tbsp Red Onion, fine minced red onion

Salt

tsp Lemon, fresh grated lemon zest

Black Pepper, freshly ground

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. In a bowl, combine the creme fraiche, both  mustard - stone ground and dijon, minced red onion, capers, salt, black pepper, lemon zest. Mix well until salt is fully mixed in. Set aside.

Spoon 1/4 of the sauce on the bottom of a large ovenproof baking dish and spread evenly. Place tilapia fish fillets in the dish. Spoon the remaining sauce over the tilapia fillets, making sure the fish is completely covered.

Bake uncovered for 12 to 15 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fish. Once done take out and let rest for 5 minutes. Serve hot with the sauce from the pan spooned over the top. Enjoy with a slice of bread or rice and fresh salad.

Baked Tilapia 

cherry tomatoes, sliced

shallot,

olive oil, divided

block feta cheese

Italian seasoning

red pepper flakes (optional)

smoked paprika (or standard paprika)

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.

Chop the tomatoes, shallot, garlic, and lemon as noted above.

Place the chopped vegetables and lemon slices in the bottom of a 9 x 13&#8243; baking dish and mix with 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and fresh ground black pepper. Crumble the feta cheese into rough chunks and add it to the pan, tossing gently to combine.

Pat the tilapia dry. Rub it with 1 tablespoon olive oil and 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt, split between the filets. Place it on top of the vegetables and feta in the pan. Sprinkle both fillets with the Italian seasoning and a few grinds fresh ground black pepper, then add the red pepper flakes and smoked paprika. Sprinkle the capers over the top.

Place the pan in the oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes (depending on the thickness of the fish), until the fish is flaky and the internal temperature is 140 degrees Fahrenheit when measured with a food thermometer. Garnish with chopped parsley and remove the lemon slices when serving (or eat them if you like!).

Made this for dinner tonight. Very good, quick and easy.  Served with roasted broccoli and roasted yukon gold potatoes.

Loved the recipe, didn’t have Italian seasoning so I just used salt,pepper,dill,oregano, and paprika and it turned out great, also used cream cheese instead of feta and cilantro instead of parsley. The cooking time was perfect, thank you for the recipe, my mom loved it

Delicious! Didn’t have capers or feta cheese, still excellent. Cooked 12-15 min. Served on bed of angel hair pasta with Italian seasoned steamed zucchini, yellow squash and tomatoes. Sprinkled grated Romano cheese. So colorful. Will definitely make again!

Pan seared tilapia is all about the breading and seasonings! Add a bit of paprika, salt, and pepper for a crispy, tasty fish fry.

Crunchy Breaded Pan Seared Tilapia

tilapia filets

olive oil (separated)

tsp kosher salt

tsp black pepper

panko breadcrumbs

smoked paprika

avocado (diced)

pico de gallo

In a small bowl mix together the pico de gallo and diced avocado. Cover and refrigerate while you make the tilapia.

Avocado Salsa

Drizzle tilapia with 1 tablespoon olive oil, season with salt and pepper and sprinkle panko crumbs on top, pressing gently to adhere. Sprinkle smoked paprika over the breaded tilapia. Turn and repeat on other side.

Heat remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil in large skillet over medium-high heat. Add tilapia filets and saute for 3 minutes, then carefully flip filets over and cook other side for 3 minutes.

Remove pan from heat, and transfer fish to serving plates. If desired, serve over steamed rice and top with avocado pico de gallo and fresh lime wedges.

Combine the lime juice, cumin, paprika, garlic, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.

Cover and place in the refrigerator to marinate for 20 minutes or so.

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet or casserole over medium-high heat. Add the peppers and onions and cook until they begin to thaw, about 3 minutes.

Add the tomatoes and marinated tilapia and mix them in.

Pour the coconut milk over everything, mix and cover, and simmer about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

In the last few minutes, stir in the cilantro (optional).

When the tilapia is cooked through, garnish with additional cilantro (if desired) and serve.

tilapia (6 oz each (1.5 lb total))

garlic powder (for seasoning tilapia)

tsp sea salt

salted butter (for sauce)

tbsp lemon juice (from 1 lemon)

garlic powder (for sauce)

Prepare the Tilapia

Pat 4 tilapia fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with garlic powder, sea salt, and black pepper. Set aside.

Heat the Pan

Heat 2 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat for about 2 minutes, until hot but not smoking.

Cook the Tilapia

Place the seasoned fillets in the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 3-4 minutes on the first side, until the edges turn opaque. Flip gently and cook the other side for 2-4 minutes, until the fish is fully cooked and flakes easily. Transfer to a plate and cover with foil to keep warm.

Make the Lemon Butter Sauce

Reduce the skillet heat to medium-low. Add 1/2 cup salted butter and let it melt, stirring occasionally. Stir in lemon juice and garlic powder, cooking for 1-2 minutes until smooth and slightly thickened.

Drizzle a small amount of lemon butter sauce on each plate. Place the cooked tilapia fillets over the sauce and drizzle more sauce on top. Serve immediately with your choice of sides.

WOW, this dish was superb! I started with excellent tilapia and followed exactly as described (except using regular paprika and not smoked).  Zero left in the dish after dinner tonight.  We are eating the Mediterranean diet as much as we can.  This hit all my happy tastebuds, with the lemon, garlic, tomatoes, capers, feta, seasonings…A dish of perfection! I will be making this on a regular basis 😋

I made that last night with tilapia and also 2 chicken breasts for my kiddos. It came out so perfectly! So flavorful! Fast! Healthy! I will definitely repeat this recipe again.

My husband and I are blown away by this recipe. I put his portion over brown rice and I put mine over greens to make a warm salad. Both equally delicious. The only thing I would change is covering the pan with foil because the capers got a bit too crispy. Otherwise, super delicious! Very complex flavors
