Combine the chia seeds with the milk, vanilla, and maple syrup in a bowl.

Add frozen berries to a saucepan and cook on medium-high heat, mixing around until they break down and begin to boil.
Step 6
Once the mixture is boiling reduce the heat to medium-low and allow the mixture to thicken and reduce.
Step 7
Taste the compote and add sweetener if needed. If too sweet you can add lemon or orange juice/zest.
