In a large stockpot over medium-high heat, add the bacon and cook until crispy, about 10 minutes.

Add the onion and the garlic and cook, stirring, until the onion is golden-brown, about 10 minutes.

Immediately stir in the cabbage and cook until the cabbage starts to soften, about 10 minutes.

Step 4

Season the cabbage with the salt, the pepper, the onion powder, the garlic powder, and the paprika.

Step 5

Reduce the heat to low and cover the pot.

Simmer the cabbage mixture, stirring occasionally, until the flavors meld together and the cabbage is truly softened, about 30 minutes.
