Step 1
This is an important step whether your mac and cheese has been baked or if it has not been baked. You’ll want to let it cool. If you freeze mac and cheese while it’s still hot, it can create condensation inside the packaging which will alter the texture of your delicious mac and cheese.
Step 2
Decide the portion that you want to freeze. Maybe you want to freeze the whole pan to take out and serve to a larger group of people. Or maybe you want to freeze smaller individual portions that can be pulled out to serve one or two people at a time.
Step 3
Once the portion size has been decided you’ll want to place them in freezer safe zipped bags.
Step 4
If you’re freezing a whole pan, you should cover it tightly with plastic wrap and then another layer of aluminum foil that is sealed tightly.
Step 5
If you freeze a lot of items, you’ll want to be sure to label your mac and cheese with its name as well as the date. This will help you keep track of what is what and use it in a timely manner.
