Macaroni Tuna Casserole

(7-1/4 ounces) macaroni and cheese

(10-3/4 ounces) condensed cream of celery soup, undiluted

(5 ounces) tuna, drained and flaked

milk

cheddar cheese

Fast, tasty, filling comfort food.  I used cream of mushroom soup and topped with bread crumbs before baking.  Good stuff!

This was so easy to make and one of the best Tuna dishes I have had.

Sounds like high school eats but it really is fast and good.   On a crappy day, this'll fix what ails you!!

I found this recipe almost 20 years ago in a Taste of Home magazine.  I have made it numerous times over the years.  If you like tuna casserole you are sure to enjoy this.

Although I added sprinkled seasoned breadcrumbs on top before baking. The family loved it.

Completely delicious recipe!  I made just as stated with one addition: I added a small amount of pepper-jack cheese because I had an open package that needed using.  It turned out great.  Just a hint of the pepper-jack for added flavor but it was not overpowering.  I want to try this with added mushrooms sometime but even without extras, this is an awesome recipe.  Thanks for sharing.

It was very good but instead of using cream of celery soup I used cream of chicken soup

@ Alfoa - Whenever a recipe says to prepare according to package directions, it means to use the ingredients on the package and prepare like the box says to. The recipe usually does NOT include those ingredients or measurements, unless it specifically says so. So, in this case, you would use 1/4 cup milk, margarine, and the 1/2 cup milk called for in this recipe ingredients list.  With this particular recipe, it wouldn't matter..you can make with a little less milk (even substitute evaporated milk or half-n-half) or no butter, use cream of celery, chicken, or mushroom soup. It will taste slightly different with each change, but still be delicious!

I was looking for a quick and easy supper and this filled the bill nicely.  It was so good and creamt!  I used cream of mushroom instead of cream of celery,  It was fabulous.  The extra cheese on the top was the perfect touch.

This was a nice change of pace from my typical tuna casserole. I did make some changes though. I didn't make the mac and cheese as directed before adding the other ingredients. I cooked the noodles and then after draining, I returned the noodles to the pot with about a half cup each of diced celery and onion. I sprinkled the powdered cheese over the mixture and then used a half cup of buttermilk to dissolve the powdered cheese. Also, I mixed in the shredded cheddar instead of topping the casserole with it. Then, about ten minutes before serving I topped it with crushed potato chips because I think any casserole is better with a crunchy top! The results were very creamy and delicious.

I made this dish frequently while my kids were growing up-- it's SO kid-friendly!  I have always doubled the amount of tuna called for in ANY tuna recipe to make sure there was enough protein per person served and this dish was no exception.  1 6-oz. can is hardly enough for 2 folks, let alone 4.  I enjoyed the cream of celery flavor--a nice change from the cream of chicken or mushroom that is more prevalent.  The recipe is so easy, the kids can help you make it!

I made this dish using cream of broccoli soup and almond milk. It was delicious and easy! My family loved it.

I make this except I don't put in the extra cheese.  I may try that though as you can't ever have too much cheese!

I never make any other tuna casserole as they just don't taste as good as this.

This was good, but it tastes just like tuna chesse helper.  I get hamburger helper on sale for 0.75 and just to buy the cream of celery soup for this recipe was $1.20.  So it makes more sense to make tuna helper, which is cheaper and only dirty's 1 pan.

Fast, easy and absolutely delicious !!  My 17yr old couldn't believe that there was cream of celery soup in this casserole !  No leftovers :)

Been in a dinner rut lately and needed some inspiration...made this with some modifications. Used the boxed mac n cheese but didn't have the cream of celery so I made a cup of white sauce and threw in some diced celery and a sprinkle of celery seed. Also added 2 chopped hard bolied eggs some diced onion and mixed a handful of shredded cheddar into noodle and tuna mix. Topped with crumbled potato chips. Yummo! Add-ins are endless. Will be making this again!
