I boiled my potatoes until they were just tender then grilled. No, not because I cannot wait 15 minutes but because the kabobs I was making with them cooked faster that that. These were very good!

Really good...I'm a vegetarian & only have a George Foreman grill. They took a lot longer than 15 minutes to cook since the heat isn't as high as a regular grill. I may try them in my air fryer next time. Still, they were delicious!

Modern Grilled Salt Potatoes Recipes with Less Salt

Foil packets are a quick and easy way to prepare potatoes for the grill, oven or even the campfire!

Grilled Potatoes in Foil

Place foil packets on the counter and spray with cooking spray.

Wash and slice potatoes (and onions/mushrooms if using).

Place potato slices (approx 1 potato per packet) and any optional toppings on each foil piece. Top with a generous pat of butter and salt/pepper to taste. Fold each packet closed.

Grill over medium heat for 30 minutes or until soft.

Combine the spices for the potato seasoning. Drizzle most of the olive oil over the spice mix and stir well to combine. Only add the remaining oil to the potatoes if necessary.

Slice the potatoes into ½ inch thick slices. I like to thinly slice the round ends off so that each side of potato is able to lay flat on the grill.

Place the potato slices into a large bowl and drizzle them with the olive oil/seasoning mix. Toss to combine well.

Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.

Layer two large pieces of foil down and lightly coat it with cooking spray.

Place the potatoes on top of the foil, in a single layer if possible. Cover with another sheet of foil and seal it shut.

Place the foil packet on the grill and shut the lid. Heat for 20 minutes.

Remove the top layer of foil and use kitchen tongs to flip the potatoes. Leave the foil off the top and heat for an additional 5-10 minutes with the lid shut.

Remove from the grill and serve!

Grilled Baby Potatoes are a delicious addition to any meal! Slightly charred and crispy outside and creamy and sweet on the inside, they will be your most requested side this summer!!

Grilled Baby Potatoes

(1½ lb) baby potatoes

Put the potatoes into a large pan of cold water with 1 teaspoon of the salt. Bring to a boil and cook them until you can just stick a fork or knife into them with some resistance (about 10 minutes but this varies depending on the size).  then remove from the heat and drain.

Remove from the heat, drain and run cold water all over them before draining again. This will stop them cooking anymore.

Put the potatoes carefully into the freezer bag or lidded container.

Pour in the oil, rosemary, remaining salt and pepper then seal the bag/container and give it a good shake around to distribute the oil and herbs all over the potatoes.

Leave to marinate in the fridge for as long as you can, but for at least 30 minutes. They can be prepared like this up to 24 hours in advance.

When you are ready to cook the potatoes, remove them from the fridge and thread onto skewers. If using wooden skewers make sure you soak them in cold water for a while first so they don&#039;t burn on the grill

Place the skewered potatoes on the grill and cook for around 25 to 30 minutes, turning frequently.

Once golden brown all over, very soft and slightly charred, remove from the grill and serve.

Preheat the grill

In a large bowl, toss together the potatoes, bell pepper, onion and garlic.

In a small bowl, whisk together the lime juice, olive oil and fajita seasoning.

Pour the seasoning mixture over the potatoes and toss to coat.

Place two sheets of heavy duty aluminum foil on a flat surface and pour the potatoes into the center of the foil.

Bring a large pot of water to a boil.

Add potato wedges to the boiling water and cook for 6 minutes.

Drain and let the potatoes cool slightly.

In the meantime, preheat the grill to medium-high.

Grease the grill grates with oil.

In a large mixing bowl combine salt, garlic powder, oregano, basil, and paprika; add in the olive oil and mix until well incorporated.

These are really
good! I followed the recipe exactly and I can now say I agree with others- boil maybe 5-7 minutes, or you’ll get mush.

The prep time and total time says just five minutes. What happened to adding the time to cut, boil, mix, heat the grill, grill, toss, serve?

I cut my wedges a little thinner, coated them with grape seed oil and seasoned salt, and put them on the grill without even boiling them, they came out great after about 15 minutes. Flipped each one 4 times.  I used the gold potatoes instead of russets.

For sure you don’t need to parboil that long. Mine were mush. Garlic was overwhelming as was the salt. Will modify if I try it again.

We loved it.  

I used the technique and ingredients but modified the details based on the previous comments and my eyeballs.  

For me, 5 minute parboil was not enough because the wedges barely yielded to the fork poke.  Parboiled for 2 minutes longer for a total of 7 minutes.   

Used about 2t garlic.  Grilled for 5 minutes medium-high but I wanted them to crisp up....turned to high for 5 minutes and turned them.  Tossed  in the oil/herb mix.  This will be in the regular rotation.   Next time I will indeed add MORE GARLIC but not 2T.  Also will reduce salt.

This recipe is WAY OFF with respect to the amount of time to parboil the potatoes. You only need five minutes of parboiling--not 10. Otherwise, you will end up with over-cooked, mushy potato wedges that will not grill properly.

Preheat grill to 450° to 500° surface temperature. That is about medium-high on most grills. That temperature matches well with chicken, pork chops and tenderloins.

Wash about 1 1/2 pounds of thin skin potatoes and cut into bite-size pieces with no more than 3/8 inch of any part of the piece to an outside surface.

Mix with 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1 teaspoon kosher salt, 1/2 teaspoon pepper, and 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder.

Place in a grill pan and close lid.

Stir every 5-7 minutes until an internal temperature of 200°-210° — about 30 minutes.

Wash and dry the potatoes.

Use a fork to prick a few holes in the potato.

Microwave the potatoes for 5-10 minutes (depending on your microwave strength) until they are soft, but not too soft. (About 80% baked.)

Allow the potatoes to cool slightly.

Using a sharp knife cut the potato (the short way) about 1/4-1/2", making sure to not cut all the way through to the bottom.
