Put all the ingredients (except the slices of orange) in a slow cooker on low for 1 1/2 - 2hrs until hot. Ladle into heatproof glasses and serve with slices of orange. Using the 'keep warm' setting (if your cooker has one) will ensure the mulled wine stays hot during the party.

Mulled Wine Recipe

Place all ingredients except the oranges into a medium sized pot

Using a sharp knife or peeler, peel half of one orange

Avoid peeling as much pith (white part) as possible, as it has a bitter taste

Juice the oranges and add to the pot along with the orange peel.	Over medium heat, warm the mixture until just steaming

Heat for 30 minutes to let the spices infuse.	Strain the wine and serve into heat-proof cups

Spiced Mulled Wine Recipe

Combine all ingredients in a (non-aluminum) pot or saucepan set over medium heat.&nbsp;

Gently bring the wine to a low simmer over medium-low heat- do not boil&nbsp;as this will boil off all the alcohol. Heat for approximately 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

To serve, carefully ladle the mulled wine into the desired number of serving glasses, leaving spices behind for re-use.

Garnish with additional orange slices, blackberries, and cranberries, if desired.

Add all ingredients to a 4-quart slow cooker. Cover and set your slow cooker to LOW. Warm for approximately 1 hour, or until wine is warm throughout. Ladle into glasses leaving behind any spices.

To prepare the oranges, if using 2 small, slice one orange into rounds and slice the other in half. If using 1 large orange, slice it in half through the round middle, then slice one of the halves into rounds. Place the rounds into a medium heavy-bottomed pot or small Dutch oven. Squeeze the juice from the remaining oranges into the pot.

Pour the wine into the pot, followed by the brandy. Add 1 tablespoon of the sweetener for now. Add the cinnamon sticks, star anise and cloves.

Warm the mixture over medium heat until steaming (about 5 minutes), and keep an eye on it. When you start seeing the tiniest of bubbles at the surface, reduce the heat to the lowest of low. 

Carefully taste, and add another tablespoon of sweetener if it’s not sweet enough for your liking. If it&#8217;s not spicy enough to suit your preferences, continue cooking over very low heat for 5 to 10 more minutes.

Serve in mugs with your desired garnishes! If you&#8217;re adding cranberries as I did, you can add them to the pot to make it look extra festive.

If you expect to polish off the mulled wine within 20 minutes or so, you can keep it on the stove over extra-low heat (it will become more spicy with time). Otherwise, remove it from the heat, cover, and rewarm over low heat if necessary. Leftovers will keep in the refrigerator for a couple of days, covered (pour it through a strainer if you don&#8217;t want it to become any more spicy than it already is).

Made this before going on an evening walk to look at Christmas lights and the stars. It was a perfect warm spiced drink to come home to after a cold winter's walk. I did half honey and half date syrup for the sweetener and it turned out really well. Thanks for another great recipe!

Mulled Wine

Add the first 7 ingredients to a saucepan. Juice the lemon and orange and add the juice to the pan.

Bring to a boil over medium heat then reduce to low heat and simmer for another 15 minutes.

Serve warm with orange slices.

Mulled wine is a must during the holidays. We've been making this recipe for years and it never disappoints. It's easy to make, perfectly spiced, and tastes like Christmas. Bonus: we make it with maple syrup for extra rich flavor and so it's refined sugar-free.

Brandy Mulled Wine Recipe

red wine (see notes)

apple juice

maple syrup (see notes)

cinnamon sticks,

black peppercorns

Optional garnishes: orange slices, cinnamon sticks, star anise, cranberries

Add all the ingredients to a large pot over medium-high heat. As soon as you start to see steam rising from the pot, reduce the heat to medium. Keep the pot on the heat for 15 minutes for the spices to infuse the wine.

Strain the mulled wine into mugs or thick-walled wine glasses and top with any or all of the optional garnishes.

Classic mulled wine

We had some red wine that was disappointing but mulled to your recipe it was delicious especially home on a cold wet wintry day . We added the brandy as specified and a bit more maple syrup than in the recipe . So thanks for a great brew . We have some left I strained for today so will be interested to see if I need to add more spice .

Poached pears in spiced red wine

Halve the vanilla pod lengthways, scrape out the black seeds and put in a large saucepan with the wine, sugar, cinnamon and thyme. Cut each piece of pod into three long thin strips, add to pan, then lower in the pears.

Poach the pears, covered, for 20-30 mins, making sure they are covered in the wine. The cooking time will very much depend on the ripeness of your pears – they should be tender all the way through when pierced with a cocktail stick. You can make these up to 2 days ahead and chill.

Take the pears from the pan, then boil the liquid to reduce it by half so that it’s syrupy. Serve each pear with the cooled syrup, a strip of vanilla, a piece of cinnamon and a small thyme sprig.

German Mulled Wine: Gluhwein

Bruise your cardamom pods with the back of your knife. Put all ingredients except of sugar in a pot over medium low heat. Before it starts to boil, remove from heat and add sugar. Let sit for up to 30 minutes, strain and serve. To garnish, put a few orange slices in a mug along with a cinnamon stick.

To keep the mulled wine warm for a longer time put your mulled wine on a really low heat and pour it into glasses as your guests arrive. Enjoy!

German Mulled Wine: Glühwein

Embrace the festive period with this delicious mulled wine that&#039;s alcohol free

Non Alcoholic Mulled Wine

cranberry juice (500 milliliters)

red grape juice (500 milliliters)

water (250 milliliters)

Star anise

Cinnamon sticks

Cloves

Cardamom pods

Agave syrup

orange (optional)

Pour the cranberry juice, red grape and water into a medium sized saucepan on medium heat

Then add the slices of orange, lemon along with the spices - cardamom pods, star anise, cinnamon sticks, cloves and nutmeg.

Bring to the boil then reduce the heat to low, cover the saucepan and simmer for 15 minutes.

During the time do a taste test to determine how much sweetness you desire.

After the given time remove the saucepan from the stove and leave to steep for another 15 minutes

Use a sieve/muslin cloth to strain the excess spices and fruit.

Squeeze half the orange over the ready made mulled wine if including then stir

Serve warm (re-heated strained if needed) in heat proof glasses

Stove top version

Add the orange, lemon slices along with the spices - star anise, cardamom pods, cinnamon sticks, nutmeg and cloves to the stainless steel inner pot.

Pour in the grape juice, cranberry juice and water.Secure the lid and turn the knob to the &quot;sealling&quot; position.

Pressure cook on &quot;high&quot; for 5 minutes. Once finished allow the pressure to release for about 10 minutes then do a quick release afterwards.

Use a slotted spoon/small mesh strainer to remove the fruit slices and spices.

Stir in your sweetener to taste and squeeze in half an orange.

Serve warm or alternatively select the &quot;keep warm&quot; function to keep the mulled wine warm until ready to serve.

Instant Pot version

Add all of the ingredients to your slow cooker.

Switch on the unit and select &quot;low&quot; and set for 60-90 minutes.

Use a slotted spoon/small mesh strainer to remove the fruit and spices.

Stir in the sweetener to taste and squeeze in the half an orange.

Once the drink is done, keep the crock pot in &quot;keep warm&quot; mode until you are ready to serve.

Slow Cooker version

Make mulled wine minus the booze with this fruity, alcohol-free recipe. Combining pomegranate juice, blackberries and spices, it's just as warming as the real deal
