One of my most popular recipes and for good reason! This is the best chili I've ever tasted! Slow cooking it allows for the flavors to meld and the most tender beef. Try it tonight and see why everyone loves this! Recipe makes about 12 cups.

Slow Cooker Chili

olive oil

lbs lean ground beef

yellow onion, (finely chopped)

garlic, (finely minced)

tomatoes

tomato sauce

beef broth

Tbsp chili powder

tsp cumin

paprika

tsp unsweetened cocoa powder

sugar

tsp coriander

Salt and black pepper

(15 oz) can dark red kidney beans, (drained and rinsed)

(15 oz) can light red kidney beans,

Shredded cheddar cheese, (for serving)

Heat olive oil in a large and deep non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.&nbsp;

Add onion and saute 3 minutes, then add garlic and saute 30 seconds longer. Pour onions into a 6 or 7 quart slow cooker.

Return skillet to medium-high eat, add beef and cook stirring occasionally until beef has browned.

Drain most of fat from beef, leaving about 2 Tbsp in with beef (this is optional, I think it ads flavor but you can drain it all if you'd prefer). Pour browned beef into slow cooker.

Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, beef broth, chili powder, cumin, paprika, cocoa powder, sugar, coriander and season mixture with salt and pepper to taste.

Cover with lid and cook on low heat for 5 - 6 hours.

Stir in dark and light red kidney beans and allow to heat through, about 2 minutes. Serve warm with desired toppings.

This easy turkey chili is a weeknight dinner the whole family will love. 

Slow-Cooker Turkey Chili

red onion, finely chopped

green Bell Pepper, chopped

turkey

Kosher salt

black pepper

tomato paste

(28-oz.) can chopped tomatoes

(15-oz.) can black beans,

beans,

c. low-sodium chicken broth

chili powder

cumin

oregano

This is a great recipe: very easy to follow and it turns out delicious! Can't go wrong!
I always put in a little too much liquid, but it's great, anyway! I serve it over pasta or rice.

Delicious! I added corn and jalapeños, and for the last 30 minutes left it uncovered to thicken up :)

We altered the recipe a bit: 
Eliminated the green pepper, but added (1) zucchini, chopped, (1) yellow squash, chopped, and (1) small bag of spinach, chopped. Upped the tomato paste to a small can (6 oz), and upped the chili powder to 2 tbsp. Upped the meat to 2lbs.
Turns out thick and very colorful.

Great tasting recipe! The ratio of spices is spot on, and using only salt/pepper to cook the ground turkey lets those spices shine through the chili! My only changes were using 2 lbs of ground beef and a full 14.5 can of broth (only because I had extra and didn't want to toss either). I'm thinking of adding corn and maybe some diced jalapeños to give it a little kick next time. :)

Loved it. Since I'm the only one who eats ground turkey,  I halved the recipe and put it in a 4 quart Crockpot  I only used black beans which I happened to have on hand and added a spoonful of chipotle adobo sauce, then after 4 hours, turned it off and added 1/2 cup of frozen corn, letting the residual heat warm it through.

Great recipe, my family loves it.  I added a 16 oz. light beer and some seeded Serrano peppers for a little heat turned out great!

Husband and I really enjoyed it!
I used diced tomatoes (instead of chopped) and chili beans (instead of kidney beans).

BBQ Lovers: This Pulled Pork Chili Is The Only Chili You'll Ever Make Again

This slow cooker chili is a blend of beef, beans, tomatoes and spices, all simmered together in the crock pot for a rich and hearty dish. Crock pot chili is perfect for parties and any occasion where you need to feed a crowd!

beef (I use 90% lean)

onion (finely diced)

garlic

28 ounce can diced tomatoes (do not drain)

smoked paprika

cocoa powder

salt (divided use)

pepper

dark red kidney beans (drained and rinsed)

sour cream and green onions

Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium high heat. Add the beef and season with 1 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon pepper. Cook, breaking up the meat with a spoon, until beef is browned and cooked through.

Place the ground beef in the slow cooker along with the onion, garlic, tomatoes, tomato sauce, beef broth, chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, cocoa powder, sugar and remaining 1/2 teaspoon salt.

Stir to combine, then cover and cook on low for 6 hours or high for 3 hours. Add the beans and cook for an additional 20 minutes until beans are warmed through. Serve immediately.&nbsp;

The Best Vegetarian Chili (Slow-Cooker or Stovetop)

onion,

garlic, chopped

tsp sugar

TB chili powder

TB cumin

cinnamon

TB oregano

green bell peppers

(14.5 oz each) fire roasted tomatoes, with juices

vegetable broth

(14 oz) black beans, rinsed and drained

(14 oz) white beans, drained

(14 ounces) garbanzo beans, drained

(14 oz) corn kernels,

(12 oz each) packages vegetable burger crumbles

kosher salt and black pepper

Optional Garnishes: shredded cheddar cheese (vegan if desired,) cilantro, avocado, limes

For Stovetop

In a large heavy pot or Dutch oven, heat olive oil until hot. Add onion and garlic, stirring until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Add sugar, chili powder, cumin, cinnamon, oregano, and coriander. Stir to combine, 10 seconds. Add tomato paste and stir 30 seconds.

Add bell peppers, fire-roasted tomatoes with juices, 1 tsp kosher salt, 1/4 tsp black pepper, and broth. Scrape bottom of pot while stirring. Bring chili to a simmer. Simmer covered 20 minutes. Add beans and vegetable crumbles, stirring to combine well. Bring chili back to a simmer and cook, covered, another 20 minutes. Remove from heat. If desired, add kosher salt and black pepper to taste. Serve warm with desired garnishes.

For Slow Cooker

Add all ingredients into slow cooker. Cover and cook on Low for 6 hours.

I love this recipe and I've made it a couple of times as written.  This time I made a few changes - left out a bag of the veggie crumbles and added soy chorizo.  Oh my goodness.  It is so good!!!  Thanks!!

Do you prefer your chili served with crackers or chips?

I've made this recipe several times - both with turkey and beef. It's come out pretty well and has been popular. However, I have found it can come out a bit bland and really needs some additional flavor - more of the ones already included and I have tried others (brown sugar, chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, etc). Any ideas or additions anyone has found to work well?

Very little flavor after 7 hours in a slow cooker

this recipe came out delicious the only difference was I cooked it on high in the slow cooker and it only took about 3 1/2 hrs

and added more seasoning after about 1hr 1/2

This was a hit with my kids. They don't like chili but with fritos they ate it all!

Beef Chili That's Perfect On Crisp Fall Days

An easy Slow Cooker chili recipe with Ground Beef, beans, tomato sauce, and the best homemade chili seasoning. It putters away in the slow cooker for the juiciest beef and rich flavor.

Classic Slow Cooker Chili Recipe

lb lean Ground Beef ((90/10 or 93/7))

onion

cumin powder

garlic powder

salt (or

tsp black pepper

oz black beans

oz kidney beans (two 15 ounces cans, drained and rinsed)

oz diced tomatoes (with their juice)

oz diced tomatoes and green chilis (with their juice)

Place a large skillet over medium-high heat and sauté beef until it releases fat (4-5 minutes), breaking it up with a spatula.

Add onion to the skillet and sauté until tender (4-5 minutes). Add minced garlic and seasonings: cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, dried oregano, salt and pepper. Cook another 30 seconds stirring constantly. Transfer to a 6 Qt slow cooker.

Add remaining ingredients into the slow cooker: rinsed and drained beans, diced tomatoes with their juice, diced tomatoes and green chilis with juice and tomato sauce. Cook on high for 3-4 hours or on low for 6-8 hours. Season to taste if desired and serve warm.

Portions are way off. Too much meat, not enough bean, too much sauce, not enough pasta, too much spice, not enough cheese. Also WAY more than 4 portions.

Really good but servers way more than 4 more like 6-8. Next time I plan on doing less meat and pasta.

This dish is very good.  You need a pretty big slow cooker for this.  I used a 10 quart and was ok, but I could see smaller ones having trouble.  I would also use double the pasta recommended in the recipe.

Everyone needs to try this dish! Was a total hit in my house! Definitely making again!!

I haven't eaten it yet, but looks like it will feed a group, and my taster says it's good. Lost one star because the ratio of liquid to pasta is off, so it's more soupy than the picture, and soupier than I would want.

Slow Cooker Chili is easy to make and full of flavor. This is the perfect crockpot meal for family dinners or for feeding a crowd!

kidney beans (rinsed and drained)

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet on the stove over medium-high heat. Add the onion to the pan and cook until softened, about 2 minutes.

Add the ground beef in the pan and cook until browned, crumbling with a spoon or spatula.

Add the garlic to the pan and cook, stirring, for 30 seconds. Remove the pan from the heat. Transfer the contents of the skillet to the slow cooker.

Add the bell pepper, chili powder, cumin, oregano, paprika, brown sugar, salt, black pepper, tomato paste, broth and diced tomatoes to the slow cooker. Stir.

Gently stir in the kidney beans and black beans.

Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or on high for 3 to 4 hours.

Serve chili with toppings as desired.
