Combine all rub ingredients (below).

Remove silver membrane from the back of the ribs. Rub front and back of the ribs with spice mixture.

Place onion, sliced garlic, water and ribs in a slow cooker.

Cook ribs on high 4 hours or low 8 hours or until fork tender.

Preheat broiler. Combine ketchup, chili sauce and barbecue sauce.

Brush ribs with sauce mixture and broil (or grill) 3-5 minutes or until charred.

Slow Cooker Barbecue Ribs

(500 milliliters) barbecue sauce

brown sugar

Worcestershire sauce

Spray inside of a 6-quart slow cooker with cooking spray.

Remove inner skin (membrane) from ribs and place ribs in slow cooker. Discard skin.

Combine bbq sauce, brown sugar, garlic, Worcestershire sauce and cayenne pepper in a small bowl. Mix well to combine and completely cover with half of the sauce.&nbsp;

Season with a good amount of salt and pepper; cover with lid and cook on low setting for 7-9 hours or high setting for 3-5 hours *see notes. Refrigerate remaining sauce to use later.

When ribs are tender and falling apart, transfer onto an oven tray (or baking sheet), lined with parchment paper. (Lift them carefully as the meat will be very tender and falling off the bone).&nbsp;

Pour half of the juices from the slow cooker bowl into the remaining sauce. Baste ribs with half of the sauce and broil (grill) in preheated oven at 400°F (220°C) for about 10 minutes or until beginning to char and crisp on the edges.&nbsp;

Serve ribs with remaining sauce.

(18 oz) jar barbecue sauce

Spray insert of slow cooker with nonstick spray.

Season ribs with salt and pepper and place ribs in slow cooker.

Pour Coca Cola into the slow cooker, then pour 1/2 of the barbecue sauce over the ribs.

Cover and cook 8 hours on low or 4 hours on high.

If desired, place cooked ribs on a rimmed baking sheet, brush with remaining barbecue sauce and broil until caramelized, about 5 minutes.

Remove the membrane from the ribs and trim off any excess fat. Mix spices together for dry rub, remove 1 tsp and reserve for BBQ sauce. Rub remaining spice rub all over both sides of ribs.

Add 1/4 cup of water to slow cooker, then add ribs. Cook on high for 4 hours or low for 8. (I prefer to cook on high for 4 hours).

In a small pot heat all ingredients for BBQ sauce over medium heat. Bring to a boil and cook for 3-5 mins, stirring frequently so it doesn't burn. Remove from heat

Carefully remove ribs from slow cooker, discard excess fat + liquid. Brush with BBQ sauce. Place on a foil lined baking sheet and broil for 2-4 minutes (check frequently as it can burn quickly depending how hot your broiler is).

These slow cooker BBQ baby back ribs are seriously delicious and so tender! They fall off the bone beautifully and melt in your mouth. They are seasoned with a homemade dry rub, slow cooked for 6 hours until tender, and broiled with your favorite BBQ sauce.

Slow Cooker BBQ Baby Back Ribs

Your favorite BBQ sauce (about 1 cup or to taste)

Remove the outer membrane from the back side of the rack of ribs. Here’s how: on one end of the ribs, run a paring knife through the outer membrane layer until the layer starts to loosen and separate. Then carefully peel off the membrane all the way to the other side. Note: For visuals, see photos within this blog post under “Step-by-Step Instructions.”

Pat dry ribs with paper towel. In a bowl, mix all the dry rub ingredients. Evenly distribute and rub the seasoning all over the ribs, on both sides.

Place the ribs in a large slow cooker, lined up or curled up against the sides of the pot (see photos above). Add onions, garlic, and water in the center. Cover with the lid, making sure it closes completely.

Cook on LOW for 6 hours until the meat is tender (if you have 4-pound ribs, cook for 6.5 hours). Note: Don&#39;t overcook, otherwise they will fall apart too much, 6 to 6.5 hours is enough. Also, if you can&#39;t fit the entire rack, cut into 2-3 pieces and arrange them as best as you can for even cooking.

Remove from the slow cooker carefully and transfer to a large sheet pan, being careful not to break apart the meat. If it&#39;s difficult to get the cooked ribs out of the slow cooker, cut into 2-3 equal pieces and then lift the ribs from the bottom using a large spatula.

Brush ribs with your favorite BBQ sauce. Broil for 2-4 minutes until caramelized. Tip: don’t broil too close to the heating element to prevent it from burning. I use the middle rack.

Serve with more BBQ sauce if needed. If desired, serve with some of the onions from the slow cooker. Enjoy!

Crockpot Baby Back Ribs

2.5 lbs baby back ribs

pepper

water (OR beer, apple juice, broth)

BBQ sauce

Remove membrane from ribs. The best way to do this is to stick a butter knife under the membrane and pull the membrane back with a paper towel (it’s hard to grip and the paper towel helps!)

Mix together dry rub.

Spray both sides of ribs with olive oil cooking spray

Coat both sides of the ribs generously with the dry rub. You can gently press the rub into the ribs so it adheres. Optional: let the ribs sit with the dry rub for 5-10 minutes.

Pour the liquid in the crockpot. Place the ribs in a greased crockpot. You can lay flat if they’ll fit or curl so that they fit in the crockpot.

Cook on low for 4-5 hours. We don’t recommend cooking on high.

After 4 hours, preheat the oven to 425.

Gently remove the ribs from the crockpot and place on a nonstick foil lined baking sheet.

Top with barbecue sauce and bake for 15 minutes.

These baby back pork ribs are cooked in the slow cooker for several hours to create ultra tender meat that just falls off the bone!

Coca Cola (Slow Cooker) Ribs

barbecue sauce

Coca Cola (regular or Diet Coke is fine)

brown sugar (packed)

cayenne pepper (can add more 1-3 tsp depending on your heat preference)

salt and pepper (for seasoning)

Spray the inside of a slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray. 

Remove the membrane (inner skin) from the ribs. Discard the membrane and place the ribs in the slow cooker. If the ribs are too big, cut in half so that the ribs can fit. Season the ribs with some salt and pepper. 

In a medium sized bowl mix the barbecue sauce, Coca cola, brown sugar, garlic, Worcestershire sauce and cayenne pepper. 

Pour HALF of the sauce over the ribs, cover and cook on low for 7-9 hours or on high for 4-5 hours. See NOTES.

Cover the remaining sauce and place in the refrigerator. We will use it again before broiling the ribs. 

Once the ribs are falling apart and very tender, preheat the oven to broil (or around 450°F) Carefully transfer the ribs to a foil lined baking sheet. 

Use a basting brush to baste the ribs. Bake the ribs for 5 minutes or until crisp on the edges and the sauce is caramelizing. Watch the ribs closely, you never want to leave anything under the broiler unattended.

Remove from the oven and serve immediately with the remaining sauce. 

These slow cooker beef back ribs are cooked in a delicious red wine sauce with just a hint of spice from chipotle peppers.

Slow Cooker Beef Back Ribs

Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs and discard.

Cut the rib rack into individual ribs, season with salt and pepper, then set aside.

Heat the oil in a cast iron pan until shimmering.

Sear the ribs on all sides until lightly browned, then transfer to the slow cooker.

Add onion, carrot and celery to the pan you seared the meat in and cook for 8 to 10 minutes, until starting to brown.* Be careful not to burn the browned bits from the ribs that are in the pan. Turn the heat down if you need to.

Add the garlic and cook until fragrant.

Transfer the vegetables to the slow cooker, then pour in the wine, the hot  chicken broth and the hot water.

Add the chipotle peppers and the thyme, then put on the lid and cook on low for 6 hours.

Turn the slow cooker off and let cool for a few minutes. Ladle the liquid into a fat separator.**

Let the liquid sit for a few minutes until separated. Drain the bottom layer into a large pan and discard the top (fat) layer.

Cook the sauce uncovered on medium-high heat until reduced to a syrupy consistency (about 30 min.).

Transfer the meat out of the slow cooker and pull it off the bones. Discard the bones and the vegetables. Shred the meat. (You can use two forks for that but I find it easiest to use my fingers.) Discard any pieces of fat and membrane.

Be sure to remove all bone fragments that might be hidden in the meat, then add the meat to the sauce.

Stir sour cream into the sauce, then serve over egg noodles.

I love my slow cooker and I love beef ribs.  So when I decided to cook up a bunch of these &quot;fall off the bone ribs&quot; with Guinness my favorite Irish beer I knew I&#x27;d have a winner!   And don&#x27;t worry if you can&#x27;t have alcohol, just replace the beer with Root Beer or Dr. Pepper.

Slow Cooker Guinness Beef Ribs

Add chopped onion and garlic with olive oil in your slow cooker on the saute setting, allow to cook for a few minutes.

Add ribs on top of onions and season them with sea salt and black pepper.

Add in all of the remaining ingredients, turning your slow cooker to low.

Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours or on high for 4 hours.

When ribs are done, remove them from the slow cooker pouring sauce from the slow cooker into a saucepan.

Pour off excess grease from liquid and reduce liquid in the saucepan over high heat until the sauce has thickened slightly.

Serve sauce over ribs and enjoy!

Homemade BBQ Sauce (or Store Bought)

Prepare your ribs by removing the membrane and patting dry with a paper towel.

Prepare the rub by combining brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper.  Rub evenly on top of the ribs.

Cut the ribs in half.  Add half of the rack of the ribs into the bottom of the slow cooker.  Pour half of the sauce on top and layer with the other rack with remaining sauce.  You can also wrap the ribs around the slow cooker if the top will fit on.

Cook the ribs on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours.

Preheat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.  Remove the ribs and set on a baking sheet.  Pour the sauce on the top.  Cook for 10 minutes until the tops get crispy.  Brush with additional sauce if needed.

Remove the silver skin on the back of the ribs. Pat the ribs dry and season both sides of the ribs with salt and pepper.

Them combine garlic powder, smoked paprika, ground mustard, chili powder, cayenne powder, onion powder, and red pepper flakes in a small bowl. Mix seasonings together and coat both sides of the ribs with the dry rub. (Tip: you can let these ribs marinate overnight in the fridge for extra flavor)
