Add the oats to the bottom of the mason jar.

Stir in the milk, cocoa, and flavoring.

Note: if eating right away, at this point you should microwave your oat mixture for about 1 minute 30 seconds until the oats are cooked to your liking. If making "overnight" style, keep uncooked.
