Halloween Puppy Chow Snack Mix

Rice Chex Cereal

chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)

peanut butter

unsalted butter

sugar

Reeses' mini peanut butter cups

M&M's or other orange and black chocolate candy

candy eyes

corn

Place cereal to large mxing bowl.

In a small microwave safe bowl, combine chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter.

Heat for 1 minute, and stir to combine until completely melted.

Pour chocolate mixture over cereal and stir to coat completely.

In a large resealable bag, add powdered sugar and the cereal mixture.

Seal bag and toss to coat completely. Remove from bag and pour into large bowl.

Add  peanut butter cup, orange and black M&amp;M&#039;s, candy eyes and candy corn to the bowl and stir to combine.

Store in airtight container.

White Candy Melts - I used CandiQuik

Starlight Peppermints

Christmas Sprinkles

Cover two baking sheets with parchment paper or a silicon baking mat

In a ziplock bag, crush approx. 30 peppermints (I used the flat side of a meat tenderizer) to crush them very finely

In a VERY large bowl combine Chex Cereal, Bugles and pretzels

Melt the candy melts according to the instructions on the package

In small increments, drizzle the candy melts over the dry mixture and immediately sprinkle the M&amp;Ms, crushed peppermint and sprinkles on the candy (so it sticks to the candy).

Mix gently with a spoon until all ingredients are evenly coated.

Repeat this step until all of the melted candy is mixed in with the dry mixture.

Divide the mixture in half and spread in even layers on the baking sheets.

Let the candy set (if you are in a rush, you can put it in the refrigerator for a few minutes until it sets)

Break apart and serve - you can store in a airtight container

Using Chex Mix flavors here isn&#039;t just a gimmick — these are genuinely really good chicken tenders. A three hour bath in a buttermilk brine keeps the chicken tenders juicy, while the crushed Chex cereal provides lots and lots of crunch. For maximum Chex Mix flavor, don&#039;t skip on the dipping sauce!

Worcestershire sauce

buttermilk

flour

TBSP corn starch

⅔ cup crushed Chex corn cereal ((1½ cups whole Chex))

¼ tsp red chile powder

mayonnaise

sriracha

Combine all the ingredients for the brine in a large gallon resealable bag.

Cut the chicken into 1-2&quot; strips. You should get about 6-7 strips from each chicken breast, and may end up with some awkwardly shaped strips. That&#039;s okay!

Add the chicken to the brine in the bag. Press out any air, and squeeze the chicken around so it&#039;s all evenly coated.

Chill in the fridge for a minimum of 3 hours but no more than 8 hours.

Brine the chicken

Begin heating about 1½&quot; of vegetable oil in a large cast iron skillet over low-medium heat.

Prep your breading station. Scoop Chex cereal into a bag, seal tightly, and roll over it with a rolling pin a few times to crush the Chex into pieces. Combine crushed Chex, flour, corn starch, and spices in a wide, shallow bowl.

Unseal one corner of the bag with the chicken and brine and pour the brine into a second wide, shallow bowl. Get as much of the liquid out as you can. Set up a cutting board to put your breaded chicken tenders on to rest before frying. Tear several paper towels and have them within reach.

Unseal and roll the top of the bag down. Pick one hand to be your &quot;wet&quot; hand and one hand to be your &quot;dry&quot; hand. (I find it&#039;s easiest to use my dominant hand as my &quot;dry&quot; hand and my non-dominant hand as my &quot;wet&quot; hand).

Working with no more than 3 chicken strips at a time, pat the chicken dry with a paper towel. Then use your dry hand to lay it flat in the dredging mixture and push some of the flour and chex mix on top of it. Flip it over and press it flat in the dredging mixture again. Make sure all sides are fully coated.

Use your dry hand to pick the chicken strip up out of the flour and lay it down in the dish with the excess brine, being careful not to let your fingers touch the liquid. Then, use your wet hand to flip the chicken strip over and make sure it&#039;s fully coated, then pick it up, letting any excess liquid drip off, and lay it back in the dredging mixture.

Use your dry hand to flip the tender over, pressing it into the dry mixture so that it&#039;s fully coated on all sides. Remove from the dredging mixture to the cutting board and let rest for 10 minutes. Repeat until all chicken strips have been dredged and rested for 10 minutes.

While the chicken strips rest, increase the heat under the cast iron to a little above medium. To test if the oil is ready, dip the end of a wooden chopstick in the oil — if you see tiny bubbles around it, the oil is ready. Otherwise, you can dip a corner of one of the chicken strips in — if it bubbles immediately, you&#039;re ready to fry.

Line a sheet pan with paper towels and a cooling rack. Work in batches to fry the chicken strips for 3-4 minutes per side. Add more oil if needed between batches; there should be enough oil that it comes about halfway up the strips when they&#039;re laying flat in the skillet. Remove the strips to the cooling rack and repeat until all the strips have been fried.

Breading and frying

Combine mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce, and sriracha in a small bowl. Adjust proportions to taste.

These Chex Mix chicken tenders are infused with Chex Mix seasoning. The fried chicken is juicy thanks to a Chex Mix seasoning infused buttermilk brine, and crispy thanks to crushed Chex cereal in the breading. They're not a gimmick and they're so so so good.

Chex Mix Chicken Tenders by The Practical Kitchen

Buffalo Cheddar Chex Mix.

corn chex

mixed nuts (or 1 cup peanuts)

sourdough pretzel nuggets

pita chips

(3/4 cups) butter (melted)

hot sauce (I

cheddar cheese (finely grated)

blue cheese (crumbled (optional))

Pre-heat oven to 250 degrees F.

In large bowl, mix the Chex cereals, mixed nuts, pretzels and pita chips. Set aside.

Melt the butter in a bowl and mix in the hot sauce and seasoned salt. Pour the buffalo sauce over the cereal mixture, tossing well for 3-5 minutes or until the cereal mixture is evenly coated. Spread evenly over two greased baking pans. Sprinkle the cheese over top of both baking pans.

Bake 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Remove from the oven and toss with blue cheese. Allow the cheese to melt five minutes and then spread on paper towels to cool, about 15 minutes (or just start eating!!). Store in airtight container.

Low FODMAP Chex Mix Snack

Garlic-Infused Oil,

(90 g) Rice Chex

Position rack in middle of oven. Preheat oven to 250°F/121°C. Have a rimmed half-sheet pan handy.

Melt the butter and oil together in a large microwave safe bowl. Whisk in Worcestershire sauce, salt and cayenne, if using. Fold in cereal, nuts and pretzels until evenly coated. It will be a light coating. Scrape Chex Mix out onto rimmed sheet pan.

Bake for about 30 to 45 minutes or until lightly golden, turning once during baking. Cool pan on rack. Chex Mix is ready to eat or can be stored in an airtight container for up to 1 week at cool room temperature.

This Buffalo Chex Mix will be your new favorite snack! It&#x27;s spicy and sweet and every bite is exploding with flavor!

Tangy Buffalo Chex Mix

Combine buffalo sauce, melted butter, worcestershire, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, salt and brown sugar.

Pour over Chex Mix ingredients and stir until well coated.

Dump onto a cookie sheet or roasting pan and spread out evenly. Bake for 1 hour and 20 minutes. Stir about every 20 minutes to keep from burning. The mix will seem very soggy for a while, but it will get cooked in!

Sweet and salty and addictive! This Chex Mix will be your new family favorite!

Honey Mustard Chex Mix

Chex cereal (I use rice, corn and wheat)

white cheddar Cheez-its

Melba toast, broken into pieces (optional)

Preheat oven to 250 degrees.

Combine melted butter, honey, Dijion mustard, onion powder, garlic powder, dried mustard and salt. Pour over Chex Mix and stir until coated.

Pour onto a cookie sheet and spread out evenly. Bake for 1 hour and 10 minutes. Stir every 20 minutes or so.

Let cool and serve!

Christmas M&Ms (any flavor)

Place 3 cups of rice Chex in two separate large bowls. Line two cookie sheets with wax paper.

Melt white chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl for one minute on HIGH. Stir and continue heating for 30 second intervals until melted. If you’re like me and can never get it to melt right, add a teaspoon or two of vegetable oil, stir, and continue melting. It should melt smooth. Immediately pour over one bowl of rice Chex and stir to coat. Spread on one of the wax-paper lined cookie sheets. Chill until hardened; about 5 minutes.

Repeat step 2 with the milk or semi-sweet chocolate chips and the second bowl of rice Chex.

While chocolate Chex is chilling, stir M&amp;Ms and pretzels in a large bowl. Once chocolate and white chocolate covered Chex is hardened, break into pieces and add to the M&amp;M pretzel mixture, then stir to combine.

You can serve this in a big bowl or in individual bags. For individual bags: place 1 cup of mix into a fold-top sandwich bag. Fold closed and secure with a staple. Cut out the printable and fold in half. Secure to top of bag with double-sided tape.

This sweet Chex mix is a staple recipe at my house every Christmas season! It's perfect for gifts and parties, but be warned it's highly addictive!&nbsp;It's loaded with crunchy cereal, dotted with mixed nuts, and swirled with coconut. Then it's covered with an ooey gooey sweet and sticky coating. The best part -&nbsp;it couldn't be faster or easier to make.

Sweet Holiday Chex Mix

Rice Chex cereal*

Corn Chex cereal

Golden Grahams cereal

nuts**

sweetened, (shredded coconut)

light-corn syrup

salted butter

tsp vanilla extract

In a large mixing bowl, toss together Rice Chex, Corn Chex, Golden Grahams, mixed nuts and coconut, set aside.&nbsp;

In a medium saucepan combine sugar light-corn syrup and butter. Bring mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally.&nbsp;

Allow mixture to boil for 2 minutes, stirring occasionally.&nbsp;

Remove from heat, stir in vanilla and carefully pour sugar mixture over cereal mixture and toss to evenly coat.&nbsp;

Store in an airtight container at room temperature.

This sweet and salty White Chocolate Chex Mix is fool-proof, made with just a few simple ingredients and ready in a matter of mere minutes! Sea Salt & Sprinkles

Toss mix

Toss mix: In a large bowl, gently toss together the Cheerios, both types of Chex cereal, peanuts and pretzels. Set aside.

Melt chocolate

Melt chocolate: Add the chocolate and extract to the bowl of a double boiler (SEE NOTES). Use a rubber spatula to stir constantly until the chocolate is almost fully melted – avoid overheating the chocolate as it will harden! Remove the bowl from the double boiler and continue to stir until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth in consistency.

Combine

Pour chocolate over Chex mix: Pour the melted white chocolate over the Chex mixture. Use a rubber spatula to gently toss the mixture well until it is evenly coated and covered in chocolate.

Add candy

Add M&amp;M’s: Add both M&amp;M’s to the mixture. Toss until evenly combined.

Dry: Line two large baking sheets with parchment or wax paper. Spread the chocolate Chex mixture out evenly over the prepared baking sheets. Quickly sprinkle flaky salt and sprinkles all over the Chex Mix while the chocolate is still wet. Transfer to the refrigerator and chill until the chocolate is cool and set, about 20-30 minutes.

Serve

Serve: Break the holiday Chex mix apart into serving-sized pieces and enjoy!

(120 g) Rice Chex

(23 g) confectioners’ sugar

Line a rimmed half-sheet pan with aluminum foil and lightly coat with nonstick spray; set aside.

Melt the chocolate in a large microwave safe bowl in the microwave. Whisk in peanut butter, maple syrup and salt until all combined. Fold in the cereal until evenly coated, then scrape out onto prepared pan in an even layer. Allow to sit at cool room temperature for several minutes just until the chocolate coating feels tacky to the touch. Place mixture in large zip-top bag, add confectioners’ sugar and cocoa to bag and shake, shake, shake! Pour out onto pan to cool completely. Muddy Buddies are ready to eat or pack into airtight container and store at cool room temperature for up to 3 days.

Preheat oven to 300 degrees F. Line 2 large rimmed baking sheets with parchment paper; set aside.&nbsp;In a large bowl, combine 3 cups pretzels, 2 cups nuts, and 3 cups cheese crackers. Melt 6 tablespoons of butter in the microwave. In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, 1/3 cup buffalo sauce, 1 tablespoon grated parmesan cheese, and 2 tablespoons dry ranch powder seasoning. Pour mixture over snack mix and toss well with 2 large cooking spoons. Spread mixture onto a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.In a large bowl, pour 5 cups Chex cereal. In a bowl, melt 2 tablespoons butter. Combine butter with 1/3 cup buffalo sauce, 1 tablespoon grated parmesan cheese and 1 tablespoon dry ranch powder seasoning. Pour mixture over Chex cereal then toss with 2 large cooking spoons to coat well. Pour mixture onto second prepared baking sheet.&nbsp;Sprinkle both sheet pans with 1 tablespoon&nbsp;dried parsley.&nbsp;Bake in oven for 50 minutes. Halfway through baking, stir both mixtures and rotate the sheet pans to ensure even baking.&nbsp;Allow to cool at least 10 minutes.
