Creamy Coleslaw

apple cider vinegar

Dijon mustard

maple syrup

celery seeds

sea salt

black pepper

green cabbage

red cabbage

carrots

scallions (chopped)

Make the coleslaw dressing. In a medium bowl, whisk together the mayo, apple cider vinegar, mustard, maple syrup, celery seeds, salt, and several grinds of fresh pepper.

Make the coleslaw. In a large bowl, toss together the cabbage, carrots, and scallions. Pour the dressing over the top and toss to coat. Season to taste with more salt and pepper, as desired.

Coleslaw is so easy to make at home. It&#x27;s just a mix of cabbage, carrots and creamy coleslaw dressing. Watch the video above to see how quickly it comes together!

The Best Coleslaw Recipe

green cabbage (finely shredded)

red cabbage (finely shredded)

mayonnaise

tbsp apple cider vinegar

tbsp honey ((or more for desired sweetness))

tsp salt

tsp black pepper

Add the shredded green cabbage, red cabbage, and carrots to a large bowl. 

Combine the mayonnaise, honey, apple cider vinegar, salt, pepper, and celery seeds in a small bowl and whisk together. (If you want the dressing to be sweeter, add more honey.)

Pour about half of the dressing onto the cabbage and carrots and toss. Slowly add more dressing until you’ve reached your desired slaw to dressing ratio.

Serve and enjoy!

Coleslaw Recipe

(14 oz.) pkg. coleslaw mix

Tbsp honey (or granulated sugar)

Tbsp apple cider vinegar

In a small mixing bowl whisk together mayonnaise honey, apple cider vinegar and a pinch or two of salt if needed.

Place coleslaw mixture in a medium mixing bowl pour mayonnaise mixture over then toss to evenly coat. Serve immediately.

FOR COOKING: 4 eight ounce Pork Chops (bone-in or boneless)

Whisk all of the ingredients together in a large bowl. You can also use a large sealable baggie or plastic bag.

Add your pork chops to the bowl or bag and submerge in the marinade.

Marinate for 1 hour minimum, or up to 24 hours for the best flavor penetration.

When ready to cook, remove the pork chops and discard the marinade. Cook the chops however you’d like!

Easy Vinegar Coleslaw Recipe

Thinly slice the cabbage and measure out 8 cups. Thinly slice the onion and the celery.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the rice vinegar, cider vinegar, dill, chili powder, and kosher salt. Whisk in the olive oil tablespoon by tablespoon until a creamy emulsion forms. 

In a large bowl, toss the cabbage, red onion, and celery with the dressing. Add ground black pepper to taste, and additional salt as necessary. Serve immediately. (Note: The slaw is best served the day that it is made; leftovers do not save well. One idea is to only add dressing to the vegetables that you plan to eat.)

STEP BY STEP:
Remove any outer layers of the cabbage that seem tough or are not fresh, and discard them.
With a large chef's knife, slice off the root of the cabbage.
Cut the cabbage in half through the stem.
Cut the cabbage into quarters.
Remove the root of the cabbage by cutting it out diagonally.
Thinly slice the cabbage in the short direction, using a circular motion with the knife. (Since typically shredded cabbage for coleslaw doesn't need to be in long pieces, slicing it in the short direction makes it easier to eat!)

How to Cut Cabbage

You can make homemade coleslaw that tastes even better than KFC with this easy recipe.

Better Than KFC Coleslaw

cabbage (This is about 1 large head of cabbage

green bell pepper

choped onion

chopped carrot (1 medium size carrot)

Miracle Whip Light

sugar

vinegar

vegetable oil

If you are lucky enough to have a food processor, get it out of your cupboard. Start to cut up the cabbage and place it in the processor. While cutting up the cabbage, also cut up small slices of green pepper, onion, and carrot and add to the processor.&nbsp;

Mixing up the ingredients this way will help distribute the flavors throughout the slaw. You may want to use a little less of the onion, or green bell pepper, but do use all of the carrot.&nbsp; &nbsp;

If you do not have a food processor, no problem, simply chop the cabbage, onions, and carrots into small pieces.&nbsp; Add chopped green bell pepper if desired.&nbsp;

Now mix Miracle Whip, vinegar, oil, and sugar until you have a smooth mixture. The taste should be sweet with just a hint of vinegar.&nbsp;

Amount of dressing may be increased or decreased according to the amount of slaw you are making. Add to cut up veggies and mix well. Let stand at least one hour to let flavors mix.&nbsp;

Here is the recipe: 
1-2 heads of Cabbage
1 Green Bell Pepper (optional, there is no bell pepper in the KFC recipe)
1/2 cup Onion chopped
1 carrot
2 cups of Miracle Whip Light
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup vinegar
1/4 cup vegetable oil
Instructions

If you are Lucky to have a Food Processor Cut up Cabbage, while cutting up Cabbage Cut small slices of Green Pepper and Onion, or Carrot and add to Processor. This will help distribute flavor throughout slaw. You should only use 1/4 to 1/2 of Onion and Green Pepper but use all of the Carrot. If you truly love green pepper or onion you can add all but I do not recommend it.
 Now mix Miracle whip, vinegar, and oil, and sugar. Mix smooth. Taste should be sweet with just a hint of vinegar. Amount of slaw dressing may be increased or decreased according to the amount of slaw you are making. Add to cut up cabbage and Mix well. Let stand 1-hour if possible to let flavors mix. You will be happy with the results.

Transfer the coleslaw to a gallon sized ziplock bag. Store in the fridge, but periodically take it out give it another gently shake, then store it flipped over on the other side.

One of the tips to getting the coleslaw to taste just like KFC's is to let the coleslaw recipe sit overnight before serving. I recommend making the salad at least 6-8 hours ahead of time!&nbsp;

Mix Dressing ingredients together.

Place cabbage and carrot in a bowl. Pour over Dressing, toss well. Set aside for at least 20 minutes before serving, preferably 2 hours - this will make the cabbage go limp as it should, and also draw moisture out of the cabbage and carrot to thin out the dressing. Overnight is even better!

raw, unsalted sunflower seeds

carrot ((1 large carrot))

(3.5 ounce) wonton strips ((about 2 cups))

olive oil ((or vegetable oil))

½ tablespoons vinegar

¼ teaspoon toasted sesame oil, (or to taste, optional)

flavor packet from instant noodles

Preheat the oven to 350ºF. Spread sesame seeds, almonds, and sunflower seeds on a large baking pan. Bake the seeds and almonds for about 10 minutes or until golden brown. Watch closely near the end of the baking time as they can burn quickly. Remove from baking pan, spreading on a plate to cool completely. Don’t leave them in the pan because they will continue to brown. (See note for toasting nuts in skillet.)

Remove flavor packet from ramen noodle package, set aside. Crush noodles into bite size pieces using your hands.

In a very large mixing bowl, combine the cabbage, carrot, green onion, and bean sprouts. 

Make the dressing in a jar or small bowl. Add olive oil, sugar, soy sauce, vinegar, salt, pepper, sesame oil, and flavor packet from the noodles to bowl or container. If using a bowl, whisk ingredients together thoroughly. If using a jar, shake ingredients until well combined. Make sure the oil and vinegar are mixed together well and not separated. 

When you are ready to serve, pour the dressing over the salad and use salad tongs to combine. Stir in wonton strips, crushed ramen noodles, seeds and almonds. Serve immediately.

Pickled Mustard Seeds Recipe - How to Make Pickled Mustard Seeds

yellow mustard seeds

apple cider vinegar (plus ¼ cup + more as needed)

honey or sugar (or more for more sweet and less bitter)

red pepper flakes (optional)

Rinse the mustard seeds with water through a sieve or through a cheese cloth.

Add the rinsed seeds, 3/4 cup of the apple cider vinegar, and salt to a small bowl and soak for two hours at room temperature.

Add the soaked mustard seeds to a small pot. Stir in the honey or sugar, red pepper flakes and black pepper. Bring to a quick boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 20 minutes.

Allow to cool. Stir in the remaining ¼ cup vinegar and transfer to a sealable jar or container. Keep in the refrigerator.
