Instant Pot Korean Ground Beef

olive oil

Hit SAUTE button, and when it reads Hot, add the olive oil and ground beef. Break apart with spatula or wooden spoon, and cook until no longer pink, then stir in garlic powder, ginger, minced onions and sea salt

Hit CANCEl, then pour in beef broth, and deglaze pan to make sure no browned bits are on bottom of pot.

Add soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar and sriracha, but do not stir. Place lid on top, and turn vent knob to sealing position. Hit PRESSURE COOK for 5 minutes

Pot will take a few minutes to reach pressure, then begin counting down and cook. After 5 minutes, do a quick release or let pressure release naturally.

When pin drops, remove lid and stir. Optional -- To thicken beef, hit CANCEl, then hit SAUTE and cook for 5 to 10 minutes to reduce liquid.&nbsp;

Korean Beef Rice Bowls

Combine the soy sauce, 2 tablespoons water, brown sugar, sesame oil and red pepper flakes in a small bowl.

Heat a large deep nonstick skillet over high heat, spray with oil and add the ground beef. Cook, breaking the meat up with a wooden spoon until cooked through, about 5 minutes.

Add the onion, garlic and ginger and cook 1 minute.

Pour the sauce over the beef, cover and simmer on low heat 10 minutes.

To assemble the bowls, place 3/4 cup rice in each bowl, top with scant 2/3 cup beef, cucumbers, Gochujong, sesame seeds and scallions.

These Korean Ground Beef bowls are an easy and quick ground beef recipe, perfect for weeknight dinners!  The flavors of beef bulgogi made easy using ground beef!

Korean Ground Beef Bowl

garlic (finely minced or grated)

rice vinegar

ginger root (grated)

chili garlic sauce

eggs

butter

sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

Whisk together the sauce ingredients, set aside

Place a large pan over medium high heat on the stove. Add the ground beef and brown, breaking the meat up as it cooks until done, approximately 4-6 minutes.

Pour the sauce over the meat and bring to a simmer.  Stir in the white parts of the green onions, cook for 3-4 minutes.

Meanwhile fry the eggs.

Heat a  frying pan over medium heat.  When the pan is hot add the butter.  Once butter is melted, crack the eggs into the pan, being careful not to break the yolk.  Reduce heat to low. Fry until whites are set and yolks are cooked to desired doneness, 4-5 minutes.

To make the Korean beef bowl: Add rice to a bowl, top with korean ground beef, then a fried egg.

Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.

Instant Pot Korean Beef and Rice is made by tossing all ingredients for the sauce together, then adding the cubed beef and cooking together in an Instant Pot until soft. This Asian style beef recipe is perfect for a busy weeknight dinner when all you want is eat, not fuss over the stove.&nbsp;

Add all ingredients for the Korean Beef Sauce to a 6 qt Instant Pot (pressure cooker) and whisk until combined. Add the cubed beef and stir.&nbsp;

Cover with lid and set the pressure release valve to "SEALING". Cook on "Manual", "High" pressure and set the timer to 30 min.&nbsp; Once the timer goes off, turn the pressure cooker off and allow the pressure to be released naturally for about 15 minutes, then turn the pressure release valve to "venting".&nbsp; Once the pot is depressurized, open the lid.&nbsp;

Combine the ingredients for the cornstarch slurry in a small bowl, then pour into the cooked beef and quickly stir. Turn the Instant Pot to "Saute" on "High" setting and allow to cook for 2-3 minutes or until the sauce is thickened.

Serve over rice, rice noodles, quinoa, or mashed potatoes. For this amount of beef, you will need to cook about 2 cups of grains (rice or quinoa).

Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds, if desired.

How to cook Korean Beef

Fill a stainless steel pan like this one with 2 cups rice, 3 1/3 cups boiling water or broth, and 1 tsp salt.

15 minutes into cooking time (for beef), turn the pressure release valve to "venting" and allow the pressure to be released. Then open the lid.

Place a trivet like this one over the beef. Set the prepared pot with rice and water on top.&nbsp;

Close the lid, set the pressure release to "sealing", then pressure cook on "High" pressure for the remaining 15 minutes, followed by NPR (Natural Pressure Release) for another 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, turn the pressure release valve to "venting" allow to depressurize, and open the lid.&nbsp;

Remove the pot with the rice and fluff with the fork, cover with lid to keep warm. Remove the trivet.&nbsp;

Combine the starch and water with a whisk, add into the beef, stir and cook for 2-3 minutes until thickened.

Serve by spooning the beef over the rice.

Slow Cooker Korean Beef

½ pounds Flank Steak

Sesame Oil

mince Garlic (Cloves)

Soy Sauce

Brown Sugar

onion (chopped)

sesame seeds and green onions (for garnish)

Cut flank steak into thin strips. In a ziplock bag add flank steak pieces and cornstarch. Shake to coat.

Add sesame oil, minced garlic, soy sauce, beef broth, brown sugar, onion, and red pepper flakes to the slow cooker. Stir ingredients. Add coated flank steak and stir again until coated in the sauce.

Cook for high 2-3 hours or on low 4-5 hours until cooked throughout and tender. Can serve over rice and garnish with green onions.

Instant Pot Korean Beef

In a medium bowl, whisk together first 10 ingredients (up to roast).

Place cubed roast into Instant Pot.

Pour sauce over cubed meat.

Close the lid, and make sure the pressure release valve is turned to "SEALING".

Press the MEAT program button, and adjust time to 40 minutes. The pot should reach pressure within 10-15 minutes.

Once the pot reaches pressure, it will begin counting down.

Once it has finished cooking, it will beep and switch to keep warm.

Allow beef to remain in pot for 25 minutes NPR (natural pressure release).

Carefully release any pressure left at that time by turning the pressure release valve to "VENTING".

15-Minute Quinoa and Korean Beef Bowl

Bulgogi, a classic Korean grilled beef, is so easy to make and fun to eat with friends and family.  Tender pieces of caramelized beef with crunchy sweet vegetables, this flavorful BBQ meat needs to make an appearance on your summertime dinner soon! You can grill on a barbecue or on a stove-top griddle.

Bulgogi (Korean Grilled Beef)

green onions/scallions

carrot

½ lb thinly sliced beef (chuck

Tbsp sesame oil (roasted)

½ Tbsp toasted white sesame seeds ((for topping))

Korean soy sauce

Tbsp brown sugar ((don’t substitute with honey

garlic ((4 tsp, minced))

½ Asian pear

black pepper

Gather all the ingredients.

To make the bulgogi marinade, add 4 Tbsp soy sauce, 2 Tbsp sesame oil, and 3 Tbsp brown sugar, and crush 8 cloves garlic (or minced garlic) in a large bowl.

Grate ½ of an Asian pear.

Add freshly ground black pepper and mix all together.

Cut the onion into thin slices and cut the green onion into 2 inches (5 cm) pieces and then cut in half lengthwise.

Using a peeler, peel some carrot (or slice thinly).  Add the onion, green onions, carrot in the marinade, and mix all together.

Add the meat in the marinade, separating each slice.  Mix all together to coat with the marinade.  I wear plastic gloves so I can mix them thoroughly.

Set aside for at least 30 minutes or best if overnight.

In a large skillet (I use a cast iron grill pan here), heat 1 Tbsp sesame oil over medium-high.

Cook the marinated meat in a single layer until cooked through, about 5 minutes.  Transfer the meat to the plate and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

If you have a single serving cast iron plate, you can use it to keep the meat warm for a longer time.
