Learn how to make perfectly roasted asparagus here! This roasted asparagus recipe is a fantastic springtime side dish that everyone will love. You can season it however you'd like. You'll find my seasoning suggestions below. Recipe yields 2 large or 4 modest side servings.

Perfect Roasted Asparagus

(about 1 pound) fresh asparagus

olive oil

Salt,

black pepper,

Zest and juice of 1/2 medium lemon, preferably organic

Lemon lemon

Sprinkle of finely grated Parmesan cheese

mint

red pepper flakes

butter

Light drizzle of balsamic reduction or thick balsamic vinegar

almonds

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit and line a large, rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup. Snap off the woody ends of the asparagus (if you sharply bend the asparagus near the base, it will snap in the right place). Discard the ends.

Place the asparagus on the sheet and drizzle with 1 to 2 teaspoons olive oil, just enough to lightly coat the asparagus. Sprinkle salt and pepper over the asparagus, and toss until the spears are lightly coated in oil. Arrange the spears in a single layer on the pan.

Bake just until the base of the asparagus is easily pierced through by a fork. Very thin asparagus, like the kind shown here, will take as little as 9 to 12 minutes, whereas thicker asparagus will need 15 to 20 minutes.

Transfer the roasted asparagus to a serving platter and season however you&#8217;d like. You could keep it simple with a squeeze of lemon juice, or a sprinkle of Parmesan, or add a pat of butter or drizzle of balsamic vinegar.

Roasted asparagus is best served when it&#8217;s fresh out of the oven, but it will keep at room temperature for up to 1 hour or up to 4 days in the refrigerator (gently reheat before serving).

It is necessary to peel white asparagus, a variety popular in Europe. The skin is thick, unpleasant, "woody," and if you prepare it without peeling, you'll feel like somewhat mixed hard dental floss into your meal.

This looks good! I often make asparagus this way (well just olive oil and salt) but also throw some sliced mushrooms on the pan. They turn out so delicious!

I had always cooked my asparagus in water (than saved the juice to.either drink another day, or saved in a jar with other left over juices of other steamed veggies to use for soup bases etc) I will ONLY roast my asparagus from here on in! The flavor is just so much better! I have used ghee &amp; then drizzled w/ fresh lemon juice, but I liked using the zest for a more intense flavor, plus I like not wasting the lemon (waste not, want not!) the parmeasean adds a nice touch. I will play around with some of your other suggestions too!

Many in my family are vegetarian or vegan so I am always looking for recipes that will work for both.  I am going to make the asparagus roast with lemon for Easter.  It sounds delicious.  There are so many good products on the market today to replace eggs, cheese, etc. that it is becoming so much easier to prepare wonderful food without meat, dairy, etc..  Keep up the good work.

Thanks for this post as I love asparagus.  As a snack, I will often oil it up as suggested with a dose of harrisa seasoning mixture.  A few minutes under the broiler with a few quick turns and I'm in heaven!

Sometimes I roast red pepper  pieces along with the asparagus and roll both along with a sliver of cream cheese in burritos. With a side of roasted cauliflower it makes a good dinner.

I love roasted asparagus, it’s much tastier than steamed, which I personally find bland. I have to question the 425 degree oven though.  I’ve tried roasting it at 400, and even that is too high. I prefer roasting it at 350 so it doesn’t overcook or burn. I believe it’s better to go “low and slow.” Still only needs to roast for 10-15 minutes depending upon how thick the spears are. 

Sometimes I roast it in a garlic flavored olive oil which is sublime!

Asparagus just showed up at the farmers market this week, and I bought a bunch just in time to try this recipe! :) I did the lemon variation and it turned out beautifully. The asparagus I had were all different sizes, so I sorted them by thickness on the pan, and pulled the thinner ones earlier.

Perfect Roasted Asparagus Recipe

This lemon honey garlic asparagus recipe has a crisp outside with a tender inside cooked in a lemon, honey marinade with minced garlic. This asparagus compliments any main dish and adds a colorful feel to the table!

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.  Break off the ends of asparagus.  In a large bowl add the asparagus.

In a small bowl whisk olive oil, lemon, honey, garlic. Pour over the asparagus and toss to coat.

Lay in a single layer on a baking sheet.  Salt and pepper to taste.  Roast for about 10 minutes, more or less depending on your size of asparagus.

This simple recipe for oven roasted asparagus is an easy healthy side dish! Perfectly crispy and tender. Add Parmesan and lemon, or enjoy it as it is!

Roasted Asparagus

Preheat

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. For easy cleanup, line a rimmed baking with parchment paper or lightly coat with non-stick spray.

Snap

Snap off the woody ends of the asparagus by holding the stem end in one hand and gripping it near the base with the other. Briskly bend and the asparagus will naturally snap in the right place (I find this task very satisfying). Discard the stem ends.

Toss

Arrange the asparagus on the baking sheet. Drizzle with the olive oil and sprinkle with salt and any dried herbs you are using. Toss to coat, then spread into an even layer.

Bake

Bake the asparagus for 9 to 11 minutes (for thin stalks) or 15 to 20 minutes (for thicker stalks), just until it easily pierces with a fork.

Sprinkle

Sprinkle the asparagus with your toppings of choice. My favorite is lemon zest and juice, a sprinkle of Parmesan, and a pinch of red pepper flakes. Enjoy hot or at room temperature.

Be honest: Do you have a veggie side with each dinner?

I love this but I think I put too much olive oil! Mine were not crisp at all, too soggy but still good. Maybe a higher heat first or put oil in pan then bake pan to get hot before putting the veggies in? I usually sauté. Is there special baking pans or should I use a cookie sheet?

I start with a plastic bag. Shake in garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt and then add your best olive oil. Massage bag to combine the spices with the oil, and add the asparagus. Toss all together till every piece is coated and turn out onto a sheet pan. I roast at 400 degrees for about 10 min. till crisp tender, and no more. 
Always perfect.

Recipe was easy yet I used my Spanish Olive Oil +added some of the Italian extra virgin Olive Oil, that I purchase @ the Sugarloaf Crafts Festival  every year.  I also added the juice from a fresh lemon and about 2 very well diced garlic cloves to add to the flavor.  Also, I usually always use freshly grind my salt and my pepper (my pepper being a multi blend of many types of different peppercorns).

I prefer roasting in the oven at a lower temperature, starting at around 350 for about 15 to 20 minutes and then turn it down to 250 degrees for about another 15 minutes. Also I use real butter, real garlic, pink salt and fresh ground peppercorn medley. I have a question, who knows what fresh herbs are good with asparagus?

If you only roast for 10 minutes you won't get the charred yumminess! If it doesn't look charred enough at 25 minutes, I'll leave it in longer!

Roasted Asparagus Is One Of The Easiest & Most Delicious Sides Ever

Air Fryer Salmon and Asparagus with a Lemon Dill Sauce is the most quick, easy, satisfying, delicious, and healthy dinner you can make!

Air Fryer Salmon and Asparagus

salmon filet (I used fresh Copper River Salmon)

avocado oil

olive oil (I actually prefer olive oil

salt and pepper (to taste)

Greek yogurt (plain, whole milk)

lemon juice

dill (minced)

Cut salmon filets in half. Season with salt and pepper, then brush the tops with oil.

Cut two pieces of parchment paper the size of the salmon filets and place the salmon on the paper, skin side down, in the air fryer.

Cook the salmon at 330 degrees F for 15 minutes.

While the salmon is cooking, prepare the asparagus.

When the salmon is done, remove the salmon with parchment paper and transfer to a plate. Loosely tent with foil to keep warm.

Add trimmed asparagus to air fryer basket. Add oil or coat with olive oil spray. Season with salt and pepper. Cook at 400 degrees F for 8 minutes.

While the asparagus is cooking, prepare the Lemon Dill Sauce by combining all ingredients in a small bowl.

To serve, plate salmon filets with the aspargus, and some of the sauce (either on top of the salmon or on the side).

Asparagus is always a fantastic side dish to accompany any meal. For extra flavor, add your favorite dry spices before cooking. Adjust cooking time accordingly based on the thickness of the asparagus.

Air Fryer "Roasted" Asparagus with Time & Temp

Ham and Cheese Asparagus - a perfect recipe for the holidays or a special occasion! Dress up asparagus with Mozzarella and Parmesan cheese and ham and then roast everything in the oven.

Ham and Cheese Asparagus

Mozzarella cheese (, shredded)

ham (, thinly sliced and chopped)

Parmesan cheese (, shredded)

Preheat oven to 400 F. Trim the asparagus ends.

Place the asparagus on a baking sheet, drizzle with 2 tablespoons of olive oil, season with salt and pepper, mix everything well.

Roast, uncovered, at 400 F for 10 minutes.

Remove from the oven.

Sprinkle the Mozzarella cheese all over asparagus, then add thinly sliced and chopped ham evenly over the asparagus, then top with the Parmesan cheese. Roast for 10 more minutes, uncovered at 400 F.  If desired, you can broil for the last 5 minutes.

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Line a rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil and set aside.

Roasted Sweet Potatoes and Asparagus, a simple sheet pan roasted vegetable recipe with only 5 ingredients and ready in 40 minutes. A delicious, healthy side dish that you can also use as a salad topper!

Roasted Sweet Potatoes and Asparagus

sweet potatoes

Prep oven: Preheat the oven to 400 degrees (200 C).

Cut vegetables
