Add gochugaru, water, honey, and miso paste to a pot and stir over medium heat until the mixture bubbles. 

Turn off the heat and leave for 15 minutes. 

Stir in sake, vinegar and salt, and transfer the mixture to a bowl. Let cool to room temperature.

Coconut Curry: 1 Tbsp unsweetened shredded coconut, ½ tsp curry powder, ¼ tsp salt

Tbsp taco seasoning, 1 Tbsp nutritional yeast

DIY Popcorn Seasonings

In a small bowl, combine the ingredients to your seasoning of choice.

Prepare popcorn in either the microwave or traditionally on the stove.

Spray or drizzle oil onto popcorn, tossing to evenly coat.

Sprinkle seasoning over popcorn and toss to coat once more. Serve warm.

Make your own Jamaican jerk seasoning blend at home with this easy recipe, filled with loads of piquant and aromatic spices.

Add all of the ingredients to a small mixing bowl.

Mix it all together evenly.

These oven baked potato wedges are extra crispy on the outside and warm and soft on the inside! They&#039;re tossed in the BEST seasoning mix and cooked at the perfect temperature.

Baked Potato Wedges - Extra Crispy!

Russet potatoes (mine were 3.3 lbs total.)

Preheat oven to 415 degrees.

Combine seasoning ingredients. Set aside.

Wash the potatoes well and pat completely dry.

Cut each potato in half lengthwise, then cut each half into 4 wedges for a total of 8 wedges per potato. (Larger potatoes may require more slicing.)

Use paper towels to thoroughly dry each potato wedge to ensure they’re all crispy. Place them in a large bowl.

Add olive oil to the seasoning mixture and stir well to combine. Drizzle over the potato wedges and use your hands to mix until generously coated.

Place them on 2 large baking sheets, skin side down. Don’t let them touch, leave space around each one so that the edges get crispy.

Sprinkle evenly with sea salt. (A lot of it will fall onto the baking sheet, that’s okay.)

Bake for 35-40 minutes. Tip them onto their sides about 20 minutes in, when the tops begin to get dark brown.

Once they are crisped to your liking, remove from heat. You may also shut the heat off and let them stay in the oven to keep them hot, but check them often to ensure they don’t brown too much.

Learn how to make za'atar, the classic Middle Eastern seasoning, with this simple recipe. You'll need dried oregano, sumac, sesame seeds, marjoram (optional) and thyme. Recipe yields 1/2 cup and keeps for up to 1 month.

Za'atar Spice Blend

Simply combine all of the ingredients in a bowl or jar, and stir to combine.

For enhanced flavor, warm the spices together in a medium skillet over medium heat, until fragrant and the sesame seeds are starting to turn golden. Remove from the heat and transfer to a bowl to cool. (Skip this step if you will be baking your za&#8217;atar on pita bread, which essentially does the same thing.)

Store za&#8217;atar in an air-tight container at room temperature for up to 1 month.

Easy to make.  Very flavorful.  I am going to make this as token gifts for friends...Fresh dried herbs are important here.  While I was able to find Sumac at our local Co Op, I also purchased the brand that was recommended by Kate.

I just made this. It's the third recipe I have tried and I think it's the best so far.i reversed the oregano and thyme amounts. When I looked up the plant zaatar the translation was thyme. So I'm sure it's a different thyme plant but it's as close as I can get. I'm addicted to this stuff and thank you immeasurably for your recipe

Easy 15 Minute Shrimp Tacos with spicy shrimp, creamy slaw and yummy sauce wrapped in warm tortilla. The best you ever tried!

15 Minute Shrimp Tacos

lb raw shrimp (peeled & deveined (I left tails on))

tbsp taco seasoning

oz bag slaw or 3 cups shredded cabbage

cilantro (finely chopped)

Avocado oil (for frying)

black pepper (to taste)

corn tortillas

Easy guacamole (optional)

plain yogurt (2%+ fat)

mayo (I use avocado oil)

lime

tsp taco seasoning

tsp salt

In a medium bowl, add shrimp, 1 tbsp taco seasoning, garlic powder and pepper. Stir and set aside.

In a small bowl, add yogurt, mayo, lime juice, taco seasoning, cayenne and black pepper. Stir and set aside.

Preheat large ceramic non-stick skillet on high heat and add shrimp. Cook until pink on the bottom, flip and cook until no longer gray. For more char, flip once and press on shrimp with spatula. Or you can grill shrimp on a silicone grill mat on high heat.

In a large bowl, add slaw, cilantro, salt and almost all of the sauce, reserving some for drizzling on tacos. Stir gently.

To assemble tacos, warm tortillas in a cast iron skillet on high heat for 10 seconds per side and pressing on with spatula. Fill each tortilla with 3-4 shrimps, some slaw and drizzle with sauce. Serve immediately, maybe with easy guacamole too. :)

This funky, salty, spicy, and sour spice blend is all you need to transform anything into a chaat (a type of street snack popular throughout South Asia). It works great in traditional chaat recipes, such as for papri chaat and panipuri, but can also simply be sprinkled over fruit or vegetables or used as a spice for snack foods, like Chex mix.

Chaat Masala (Indian Street Snack Spice Blend) Recipe

(12 grams) cumin seeds

coriander seeds

(4 grams) fennel seeds

(3 grams) ajwain seeds

(3 grams) dried mint

(13 grams) kala namak powder

(18 grams) green mango powder

(16 grams) tamarind powder

(2 grams) whole black peppercorns

(12 grams) Kashmiri red chili powder (see note)

(2 grams) ginger powder

In a dry sauté pan over medium heat, working with one spice at a time, toast cumin seeds, coriander seeds, fennel seeds, and ajwain until just warm and fragrant, taking care not to burn the seeds. Set each spice aside as it is done.

In a high-powered blender or spice grinder, or using a mortar and pestle, combine all toasted spices along with dried mint, kala namak, salt, green mango powder, tamarind powder, black peppercorns, chili powder, and ginger powder. Grind to a fine powder. If using a spice grinder with a limited capacity, grind each ingredient in batches, then thoroughly combine in a small mixing bowl.

Store masala in an airtight container in a cool, dry place for up to 3 months. The masala's flavor is best the day after making, once the spices have had a chance to mingle.

This classic, simple seasoning goes well with crisps, chips and a whole host of dishes. We've used malt vinegar for an authentic 'chip shop' flavour

Put all the ingredients into a small bowl and use a wooden spoon to mix into a paste. Scrape the paste onto a baking tray and leave it uncovered at room temperature for 24 hrs until hardened. Use a fork to break up the hardened mix into a coarse powder. Will keep in an airtight container for up to two months.

Measure out all your ingredients.

In my original recipe, I used a spice grinder to pulverize the mushrooms—but to blitz this larger amount of dried porcinis, you’d be wise to use a higher-volume food processor or super-powered blender.

Dump your dried ’shrooms in the food processor and pulse a few times to chop them up uniformly. If the lid of your food processor isn’t on tight, a fine mist of mushroom dust will erupt from the crack, so check the seal before you continue blitzing.
