Shortcut Caramel Pecan Cinnamon Rolls

unsalted butter

brown sugar

corn syrup

Preheat the oven to 350°F and spray a 9x13-inch glass or ceramic baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside.

In a small pot over medium heat, add the butter, cream, brown sugar, corn syrup, and salt. Stir until the butter has melted. Bring to a brief boil to ensure all of the sugar has dissolved. Pour the mixture into the bottom of the prepared dish. Sprinkle the pecans evenly over the caramel mixture.

Open the cans of cinnamon rolls and set the icing aside. Separate the cinnamon rolls and place them in the dish on top of the caramel and pecans. They likely won&#39;t take up all the space in the dish, but will expand when baking. A few gaps are totally ok.

Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown. Remove and allow the dish to rest for about 5 minutes to cool a bit. Place a large serving platter over the baking dish and invert the cinnamon rolls out onto the platter. Just be cautious as the caramel will still be very hot. I often cover the top with a large dish towel to help protect my hands when flipping it.

Drizzle the cinnamon rolls with the icing that came in the tube, if desired. Serve warm.

Pancake Mix Banana Bread

bananas

sugar

milk

vegetable oil

vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 350˚F. Place bananas, sugar, milk, oil, vanilla and eggs in blender or food processor. Pulse until uniform in color and texture. Pour mixture into a large bowl, then add in Bisquick. Stir until batter forms, then fold in pecans.

Pour batter into greased 9”x5” loaf pan. Bake for 50-55 minutes or until knife inserted in center of loaf comes out clean. Allow to cool for 1 hour before removing from pan and slicing.

These shortcut garlic knots are buttery and savory, and best of all, you'll use refrigerated biscuits for the dough to make things extra easy. 

Shortcut Garlic Knots Recipe

In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, Parmesan, garlic granules, Italian seasoning, and salt, then set aside.

Open biscuit can and cut each biscuit in half. Roll each piece into a 8-inch rope and tie the dough in a loose knot.

Place the knots on a baking sheet with parchment paper and brush each one with the butter mixture, saving half of the mixture to add after baking.

Bake for 8 minutes, or until golden brown.

Brush the knots with remaining butter mixture and serve. Top with chopped parsley if desired.

Shortcut Tomato Focaccia

can refrigerated pizza dough (like Pillsbury)

tomatoes (OR 1 pint grape or cherry tomatoes)

parmesan cheese

herbs (see note)

Heat the oven to 400°F. Lightly spray a metal cookie sheet with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside. Thinly slice the tomatoes and sandwich between a few sheets of paper towels to wick away excess moisture.

Open the pizza dough and spread it out on the baking sheet to roughly 10x14-inches. Brush the dough with the olive oil. Use your finger tips to make indentions across the bread to give the focaccia its signature bumpy texture.

Place the tomato slices across the dough. Sprinkle the cheese and salt over the top. If using dried herbs, sprinkle herbs over the top.

Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, or until golden brown. If using fresh herbs, add them after baking. Cut into slices and serve warm.

Canned Biscuit Pretzel Bites

Preheat the oven to 425°F and line a large baking sheet with parchment or a silicone baking mat.

Cut each biscuit into 4 pieces and carefully roll each piece into a ball. Use a knife to make a small slit in the top of each ball of dough.

Pour the water into a medium bowl and whisk the baking soda in until it has dissolved.

Dip each dough ball into the baking soda water and place it, slit side up, onto the prepared pan.

Brush the dough balls with the melted butter and immediately sprinkle with coarse salt.

Bake for 8 to 9 minutes or until deep golden brown. Serve immediately.

Shortcut Focaccia using Pizza Dough

Grease pan with a tablespoon of oil and place dough on it. Stretch dough as best you can, then cover it with plastic wrap and set aside for 1 hour.

Preheat oven to 400. Remove wrap and stretch again.

Add 2-3 tablespoons oil on the top of dough and spread it around evenly, then dimple the top of the dough with your fingers. Optionally, add toppings.

Bake for 22-28 minutes until golden brown with slightly crisp edges. Allow to cool for 5-10 minutes, then cut and serve.

Shortcut Mardi Gras King Cake

Preheat your oven to 350°F and spray a Bundt or tube pan with non-stick cooking spray.

Pop open the cinnamon roll tubes and remove the icing.  Then line the bottom with the rolls.  You may have to squeeze them in there.

Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until the cinnamon rolls are no longer gooey.

Turn out onto platter to cool.

In the meantime, mix the two icing packets with 2 ounces of softened cream cheese.

Once the cake is cool, spread the icing and decorate with alternating sugar colors.

I made the king cake today for Lundi Gras, very easy, thanks.

I really wanted to like this recipe more than I did. I am a pretty confident baker and I knew it wouldn't turn out like king cake, but I thought maybe it would do in a pinch. Next time I think I'd just skip the bundt pan, bake the cinnamon rolls and throw some tri-colored sprinkles on them. It was fine as it was, but not really worth it. And the instructions weren't clear about how you are supposed to fit the rolls into the pan--flat? sideways? A better option for an easy king cake might be to use a cake mix box and put that in a bundt pan. Then finish with a simple frosting and sprinkles.

I've made this recipe for several years and have always had excellent results--when I've waited for the cake to be ENTIRELY cool before drizzling the icing!

Easy to make.  I suggest pressing the rolls into the pan because my cake had spots it was coming apart even though I thought I had pressed it together enough.  HIGHLY recommend the addition of the cream cheese to the can prepared frosting....really good and really fast to make.  Put the baby in after the cake was completely cooled....Fun too!

Place pasta in a 4L (16 cup) baking dish. Pour over canned tomatoes and scatter over the onions and sundried tomatoes. Pour over boiling stock and cream and spoon over mascarpone. Stir to combine. Cover with foil. Bake for 30 minutes or until pasta is al dente.

Step 3

Remove foil and scatter over spinach, chicken and half of the cheese, tossing to combine. Sprinkle over remaining cheese. Bake for a further 15-20 minutes or until golden.
