Mall Chicken Teriyaki

chicken

mirin

soy sauce

brown sugar

ginger ((grated))

Add the chicken to a bowl, along with the mirin, soy sauce, dark soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger, sesame oil, and cornstarch. Mix together until all the ingredients are well combined. Allow to marinate for 2 hours.

Heat the oil in a wok or large skillet over medium high heat. Transfer the chicken to the pan in one layer (reserving the marinade), and allow it to sear on one side for 1 minute. Then start stir-frying for another minute.

Add the reserved marinade to the pan, reduce the heat to medium, and simmer to reduce the sauce until it thickens and coats the chicken. Serve over rice!

Teriyaki Chicken is one of the most popular Japanese dishes. The Teriyaki Sauce is so easy to make, it’s just a mixture of soy sauce, sake, mirinand sugar. You do not marinate the chicken in the sauce to make Teriyaki Chicken. Just sauté the chicken and cook it in the sauce, which takes only 15 minutes in total! Teriyaki Chicken

1½ tbsp soy sauce ((see post for sample photo))

1½ tbsp sake ((see post for sample photo))

Combine the Teriyaki Sauce ingredients in a small bowl or cup and mix well until the sugar dissolves (note 4).

If the thickness of the chicken is uneven place a fillet on a cutting board, skin side down, make a cut horizontally and outward where the meat is thick and butterfly it (see the Video).Poke the skin with the tip of the knife in several places so that the sauce will get through to the flesh better.

Heat a non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Place the chicken in the pan, skin side down. Cook for 3-4 minutes until the skin gets cooked to a golden brown. Turn the chicken over and cook for about 3 minutes (Note 5). If a lot of oil comes out of the chicken fat and skin, absorb excess oil with a paper towel (Note 6).

When the chicken is nearly cooked, add the sauce, shake the pan to even out the sauce, and put the lid on. Cook for 30 seconds.

Remove the lid and cook until the sauce thickens and reduces to about 1-1.5 tablespoons (Note 7). Turn the chicken over and coat the skin side with the sauce.

Remove the pan from the heat and place the chicken on the cutting board, skin side up. Cover with foil for few minutes to let it cook further. Slice the chicken into 1.5-2cm/⅝-¾” thick pieces.

Place mixed cabbage, carrot and capsicum salad on a plate and then arrange the sliced chicken. Pour the sauce over the chicken and add a sprig of parsley/mint if using. Serve immediately.

Is it possible to have chicken teriyaki ready in under 20 minutes? Yes it is! My Instant Pot Chicken Teriyaki takes only 5 minutes to prepare and 10 minutes to cook! Serve with broccoli, over a bed of rice/ quinoa, or on a flat bread.

Instant Pot Chicken Teriyaki

chicken breast

c honey

c rice vinegar

ginger powder

Tbsp minced garlic

yellow onion (roughly chopped)

tsp pepper

red pepper flakes (to taste)

olive oil

Tbsp corn starch

water

Cut chicken breast in half length ways and place halves in the instant pot.

In a small bowl whisk together all ingredients except the corn starch and water.

Pour ingredients over the chicken and turn the Instant pot to high pressure and cook for five minutes.

Quick release the instant pot and check the internal temperature. Chicken should reach an internal temp of 165 degrees.

If your chicken is not fully cooked, place back in the instant pot, cover, and let sit until the temperature reached 165 degrees.

Take the chicken out of the instant pot and shred with two forks.

Turn the Instant Pot to saute mode and create a slurry with the corn starch and water.

Pour the slurry into the instant pot and bring the sauce to a boil. Once the sauce thickens, add shredded chicken.

Serve over a bed of rice or with a side of broccoli.

Easy teriyaki chicken

Heat the oil in a <a href="https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/content/top-five-non-stick-frying-pans">non-stick pan</a> over a medium heat. Add the chicken and fry for 7 mins, or until golden. Add the garlic and ginger and fry for 2 mins. Stir in the honey, soy sauce, vinegar and 100ml water. Bring to the boil and cook for 2 - 5 mins over a medium heat until the chicken is sticky and coated in a thick sauce.

Scatter over the spring onions and sesame seeds, then serve the chicken with the rice and steamed veg.

This healthy chicken teriyaki is made without sugar, gluten or starch!

Low Carb Keto Japanese Chicken Teriyaki Recipe

broccoli

red bell pepper (or any other colour)

yellow bell pepper (or any other colour)

572 g boneless chicken thighs (4 thighs)

sesame seeds

tbsp sesame oil

tbsp Sugar Free Teriyaki Sauce (RECIPE HERE)

Cut the chicken thighs into bite size pieces (or preferred size).Dice the bell pepper and carrot.&nbsp; Cut the broccoli.&nbsp; Slice the onion and green onions.

Add the chicken to a large bowl and pour the 2 tbsp of teriyaki sauce all over.&nbsp; Mix together until all pieces of chicken are coated in sauce. Let it marinate for 30 minutes or more.&nbsp;

In a large frying pan, heat 2 tbsp of sesame oil.&nbsp; Add the onion and carrot and fry 2-3 minutes.&nbsp; Add the bell pepper and cook another 2-3 minutes.&nbsp; Remove the vegetables from the pan and set aside. We will re-add them in a bit.

Turn the heat to low-medium, heat 1 tbsp of sesame oil and add your chicken thighs skin side down.&nbsp; Fry 2-3 minutes on one side and flip.&nbsp; Cook another 2-3 minutes.&nbsp; Add the vegetables and broccoli.&nbsp; Stir fry until the broccoli is tender and the sauce has thickened down.

Sprinkle sesame seeds and green onions all over the dish.

Most Delicious Teriyaki Chicken

avocado oil

Whisk

In a medium sized bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, sake, mirin, and honey until everything is well combined. Set this aside.

Dice

Dice the chicken breasts into 1-inch pieces.

Sear

Heat the oil in a large saute pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add in the chicken and let it cook for 1-2 minutes on one side, until nice and golden. Season the chicken with salt and pepper.

Stir Fry

Stir fry the chicken, flip it over, and cook the other side for another 1-2 minutes. You don&#039;t want it cooked through at this stage, just seared on the outside.

Reduce

Give the sauce a quick whisk and add it to the pan along with the minced ginger and garlic. Stir the sauce with the chicken and let it simmer for 4-5 minutes until the sauce has reduced and thickened.

Serve

Serve on top of a fresh bed of rice and a side of steamed broccoli. Garnish with diced green onions and sesame seeds.

Chicken Teriyaki Pineapple Bowls

We did this today and it was freaking fantastic!!! Used the leftover pineapple for Dole Whip Coladas.

I didn’t have a pineapple so I used the juice from a can, all of it. I also added some of the chunks. This was so delicious, I will be making it again.

I’ve made this dish a few times as is and it was always a favorite in my house. I Tried this dish with tempeh instead of chicken to make it vegan and it was so delicious! Also I substituted the low sodium soy sauce for coconut aminos to reduce the sodium count further. And I only had coconut sugar as well. These substitutes still work great. 😊

I made this tonight for the family. They loved it. 
while the chicken and sauce were simmering I drained the pineapple and put in a 9x9 dish set the oven to 350°, I’m a separate bowl I whisked in an egg, flour(1cup), brown sugar(1 cup), baking soda(1 teaspoon) and salt (1/2 teaspoon) together and drizzled that on top of the pineapple and put a 1/2 cup of butter in the microwave until melted, poured on top and set the whole thing in the oven for 40-45 mins (dresses slow churned vanilla complimented it well). 
 
while we ate, dessert cooked and none of the pineapple was wasted.

Absolutely LOVED this dish. The sauce is so good and my husband was totally impressed with the presentation, when in actuality it takes less prep than making spaghetti in my house. I earned extra wifey points and found an easy to follow and delicious recipe!

I’ve made this twice now, exactly as written, and it’s quite an impressive dish. I would serve this for company. Keep in mind that I didn’t need the 8-10 minutes to simmer the chicken. Once I browned each side for 3 minutes, it was done. I added the sauce and it started boiling right away, so I immediately added the cornstarch thickener and it was ready within seconds. If I had cooked the chicken any longer, it would have gotten tough.

These were so fun to make for our Wednesday Family night FUN dinner! And the recipe was the BEST teriyaki chicken we have made - my whole family loved them! Plus they were pretty fast to make which is a bonus when you work. Ü

I made this recipe and it was just ok. I love the idea of the pineapple bowls but the chicken recipe itself seemed like it needed something more to make it awesome. When I added extra pineapple juice, it got a little better. I also added edamame initially on the side but tasted pretty good mixed in also.

I loved it!! Forgot to add the green onions in the pic. Also made an entire second sauce to pour over the rice and save some for later.

This was delicious! I doubled the recipe because I cook for 5 adults. I added pineapple chunks, and Everything Bagel seasoning is perfect on top of almost all Asian food!

Whisk all of teriyaki sauce ingredients in a small bowl.&nbsp;

On medium heat in a cast-iron skillet brown chicken in oil until cooked on all sides and slightly crispy. *If pan isn't hot enough the chicken will steam so make sure pan is hot but not burning.*&nbsp;

Add teriyaki sauce to cooked chicken and stir for 1 to 2 minutes for sauce to thicken.

Stir in broccoli with chicken and sauce. Serve over rice with sprinkled sesame seeds and enjoy!&nbsp;

10-Minute Teriyaki Chicken & Broccoli

Say goodbye to take-out and learn how to make this tender, juicy teriyaki chicken smothered in a homemade teriyaki sauce in your own kitchen.

Chicken Teriyaki

Heat oil in a large skillet.

Saute chicken over medium high heat until browned on the outside and cooked through.

Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.

In the same pan the chicken was cooked in add the soy sauce, mirin, brown sugar, sesame oil, ginger, garlic and fish sauce.

Bring to a boil and reduce heat and simmer the sauce for 2-3 minutes.

In a small bowl mix together the cornstarch and water.

Slowly pour in the cornstarch mixture whisking continuously. Continue to cook until your desired thickness.

Add chicken back to the pan and toss to coat the chicken with the sauce.

Serve immediately.

Unfortunately, one star.  Sauce is terribly overpowering.  Even serving with a lot of rice didn't tone it down enough.

Well, it wasn't horrible,  but I wish I wouldn't have added that much ginger. I would suggest maybe like half or even less.

Made this for dinner, cut half the ginger, it was fantastic, will make this again.

Omg it tastes terrible I’m sorry but the amount of ginger and vinegar is way to much for the recipe, it’s as if I’m only eating chicken with vinegar & ginger nothing else matter. 

I think you guys need to rewrite the ingredients or remove it because this such waste of food and time

Pretty good....halve the ginger, add a tbls of brown sugar....maybe double the honey.

Instant Pot Teriyaki Chicken Bowls

low-sodium soy sauce

hoisin sauce

tbsp rice vinegar

carrots, chopped

jasmine rice

red pepper, chopped

Sesame seeds

Dump olive oil, chicken, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, carrots, water and rice into Instant Pot in that order leaving rice to float on top of other ingredients. Do not stir. Place lid on and cook for 2 minutes on high pressure.

Instant Pot will take about 10 minutes to come to pressure then cooks on high pressure for two minutes. Do a quick pressure release and remove lid when safe to do so. Stir in broccoli, red pepper and green onions, then replace lid and let sit another 10 minutes.

Serve among four bowls and top with more green onions if desired and sesame seeds. Enjoy!
