15 Minute Meal Prep: Sesame Noodle Bowls

sesame paste (or tahini)

warm water

soy sauce

sesame oil

rice vinegar

garlic, grated

Sriracha and sugar

edamame, cooked

cucumbers, diced

lb. chicken breast,

Sesame seeds

Sauce

Whisk all sauce ingredients together until smooth (or you can run it through the food processor, or shake it up in a jar).

Noodles

Cook noodles a few minutes LESS than package instructions. If your noodles seem very sticky, rinse them in cold water. Toss noodles with about half of the sesame sauce.

Bowls

 Divide noodles, edamame, cucumber, and chicken into containers. Drizzle with a little extra sauce and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Voila! Store in the fridge for 3-4 days. Eat hot or cold. Take a shot for the &#8216;gram cause this is your moment.

I made this sauce up as soon as I read it! I did use the dark soy sauce and tahini. I added 1/4 tsp Sriracha and 1/2 tsp. sugar. Seemed lacking a bit of something for me, but it was good. I made it using rice noodles. Next time I will make it with a thick, sweet soy sauce and sesame paste.  Hoping that will give a bit deeper flavor profile. LOVED how easy it was to make!!

Make this quick and easy recipe for dinner tonight and it was yummy.  I had everything except the tahini, so I just subbed crunchy peanut butter.  I doubled the sauce and added broccoli.  Other than the tahini and broccoli I followed recipe.

I think the recipe looks very good. And that it is also very healthy because it contains only 395 calories and only 23% fat. I like that after the recipe you also give tips on how to make it the best. I also like that for some ingredients you give other possibilities because I don't really like sesame seeds. What is also very nice is that the preparation of this only takes 15 minutes. I appreciate your hard work really hard for sharing the recipe with others so they can see and hopefully make it. So excited for this recipe! A handful of pinch of yum recipes have become staples in our house. (I need to start tagging for insta). My husband and I always laugh that when our now toddler is in school and has friends over for dinner they will be so surprised to see curry or a spring roll bowl for dinner rather than chicken fingers!

Looking at the picture, I would've never thought that this recipe can be made with so little ingredients on hand. I couldn't believe that I had all ingredients on hand, so I made this for dinner and it was mouthwatering. Thank's for the inspiration!

I have made so many recipes from the site and they have ALL turned out delicious! My all time favorite is the spicy soba noodle salad and the 15 minute lo mein. I made this recipe the other day while my daughter napped....I have to say it took MUCH MUCH longer than 15 minutes. By the time I cut the chicken, boiled and cooked the noodles, made the sauce, my daughter was up. It took almost an hour! It was pretty tasty but I’ll stick to the soba noodles and lo mein.

Sesame Noodle Bowls

<em>These Spicy Sesame Noodles are creamy, perfectly spiced, and easy to make! A cozy and satisfying vegan dinner that's even better than takeout.</em>

Spicy Sesame Noodles (Ma Jiang Mian)

(300 grams) All-Purpose Flour,

Salt

tbsp Neutral Oil

(140 milliliters) Filtered Water

tbsp Tahini or Sesame Paste

tbsp Smooth Peanut Butter

2-3 tbsp Light Soy Sauce (to taste)

tsp Unseasoned Rice Vinegar

Sugar

Water

tsp Toasted Sesame Oil

Toasted Sesame Seeds

Peanuts

Seedless Cucumber, sliced

Cilantro

Green Onions

Chili Oil, to taste (this is what makes things spicy!)

First, Whisk the Flour and Salt together in a large bowl. Add the Oil to the center of the bowl, and use chopsticks to mix well.

Slowly add the water to the Flour mixture a little at a time, using the chopsticks to mix everything together. Once you can no longer mix the dough with the chopsticks, use your hands to knead the dough and form a ball. It may look slightly lumpy, but that’s okay!

Return the dough ball to the bowl and cover with a damp tea towel; let rest for 20 minutes. The dough will not rise, but will become more elastic and easier to work with.

Divide the dough into 2-4 portions, to make it easier to work with. Flour your surface and use a rolling pin to roll the dough into a thin sheet (about 1 cm or ⅓” thick). Dust the sheet with more flour, flip it, then dust it again.

Re-flour your surface (notice a theme here?), then fold the dough sheet into 3-4 layers. Cut the dough into thin strips (~1/3&#8243;) to create noodles, unfolding the dough to reveal the noodle. Let the noodles rest for another 15 minutes before gently “pulling” the noodles (by holding the ends and “bouncing” them on your floured surface) to stretch them out. This step is optional, but fun!

Dust the noodles with even more flour to prevent sticking, then bring a large pot of water to a boil. Cook the noodles for 3-5 minutes, until tender. You may have to do this in batches, depending on how large your pot is. Serve the noodles immediately &#8211; they’re best when hot!

     Add all of the ingredients except for the hot water to a medium bowl and mix well. Slowly whisk the Hot Water into the sauce, then taste and add any extra ingredients according to your personal preference. Refrigerate any Sauce leftovers for up to one week.

Cook your desired Noodles according to the package instructions, if you are not making them from scratch.

Add the Noodles to a bowl, then toss them with the Sesame Sauce. Top with Cucumber, Green Onion, Cilantro, Toasted Sesame Seeds, Chopped Peanuts, and a hefty drizzle of Chili Oil to finish things off! Serve warm and enjoy.

Made this tonight (didn’t have time to make my own noodles so used soba noodles) and it was delicious!

It is AMAZING!!!! Ahh! I cannot even explain how much I enjoyed this! My mom made her italian inspired with veggies, olive oil, and vegan parmasean! They were both sooo good! You HAVE to try this!

My whole family loved this. The sauce is super yummy. I love the combo of tahini and peanut butter. I  used lo mein noodles and added some steamed broccoli and sliced bell peppers.

This recipe is DELICIOUS! Almost identical and comparable to the ones I've had in Taiwan. I used dry, Taiwanese noodles in a package. I might try some fresh udon noodles next time. Do you know how many calories this is?

Sesame Peanut Butter Noodles Recipe

noodles

tbsp. pure sesame oil

peanut butter

tbsp. honey

tbsp. rice vinegar

garlic clove, (minced)

ginger root

Optional Garnish: 3 sliced green onions and 1 1/2 tsp. sesame seeds

Cook and drain the noodles according to the package directions.

In a medium bowl, add the sesame oil, peanut butter, honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, garlic, and ginger. Whisk until well combined. The peanut butter should completely break down to create a smooth sauce.

Pour the sauce over the hot noodles. Toss to coat.

Optional: top each serving with 1 sliced green onion and ½ teaspoon of sesame seeds.

Sesame Peanut Butter Noodles

Sesame noodles, or ma jiang mian (麻酱面) are a Shanghainese classic. A delicious weeknight or lunchtime meal to enjoy, sesame noodles are really easy to make.

10-Minute Sesame Noodles Recipe (Ma Jiang Mian)

sesame paste

rice vinegar ((optional

vegetable oil

sugar

hot water ((or braised meat sauce))

scallion ((chopped))

Chili oil ((optional))

Cook the noodles according to the package instructions.

While the noodles are cooking, make the sauce by mixing together the sesame paste, peanut butter, light soy sauce, rice vinegar (optional), vegetable oil, sugar, and water. Stir in one direction until it turns into a smooth, even paste.

Once the noodles are cooked, drain them and toss with the prepared sauce, chopped scallions, and chili oil (if desired). It's best to mix the noodles while they are still hot!

Noodles are a girls best friend and these easy garlic sesame noodles are without a doubt my favorite noodle recipe to date! They require just a few ingredients, are gluten free, ready in 15 minutes, and can be eaten hot or cold!

15 Minute Garlic Sesame Noodles (Gluten Free)

brown rice noodles

tbsp olive or avocado oil

garlic

soy sauce*

tbsp veggie broth

tbsp rice vinegar

tbsp toasted sesame oil

honey

tbsp tahini

tsp sriracha

tsp ground ginger

Bring a large pot of water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package instructions. 

Mince the garlic very finely or use a garlic press to get it super small since we won't be blending up this sauce. 

Add the minced garlic to a pan with the neutral oil. This can be avocado, olive, or refined coconut oil. 

Saute until the edges of the garlic look golden brown. 

Meanwhile, whisk together all of the remaining sauce ingredients in a bowl until there are no visible clumps of ginger and the tahini is spread throughout. 

Pour the sauce into the pan with the garlic and mix well. 

Let simmer for 2-3 minutes or until the sauce thickens slightly. 

When the pasta is done cooking, combine with the sauce. 

Garnish with scallions, red pepper flakes, crushed peanuts and enjoy!

These Spicy Sesame Noodles are perfect when you have a craving for Chinese sesame noodles but also want a little kick. They're so easy to make and much healthier than take out!&nbsp;

Spicy Sesame Noodles

oz spaghetti or linguine ((gluten-free if needed))

tempeh

TB oil or coconut oil

TB tamari

tsp red pepper flakes ((optional but tasty!))

TB sesame seeds ((I

scallions chopped

C tamari ((or soy sauce if not gf))

TB vegetable broth ((and more if needed))

TB rice wine vinegar ((can substitute apple cider vinegar))

C tahini

TB peanut butter ((can sub almond butter))

garlic garlic

maple syrup

tsp powdered ginger

onion powder

TB sriracha ((or other chile sauce))

Cook noodles to package directions.

While noodles are cooking, put tempeh block in a bowl and kind of mash it with a fork until crumbly.

Add oil to large pan. Once heated, add tempeh crumbles and tamari and cook for about 5 minutes until heated and browned.

Add all sauce ingredients to a bowl and stir until smooth.

When noodles are cooked, add them to a large bowl with the sauce. Add in tempeh and mix.

Top with sesame seeds and scallions.

These Sesame Noodles are made with just a handful of simple ingredients and 10 minutes. Boil your noodles, mix the sauce, toss, and enjoy! This recipe is a great way to put together a fast snack, side, or enjoy them as a meal.

tbsp dark soy sauce

Cook the ramen according to package instructions.

Meanwhile, in a medium size bowl combine all the sauce ingredients together and whisk until combined.

Once the noodles are cooked, drain them and immediately toss with sauce.

Garish with green onions, sesame seeds and/or crushed peanuts and serve immediately.

oz (113 grams) wheat noodles

cucumber, cilantro, green onion, chili

tbsp Chinese sesame paste (Zhi Ma Jiang)

tbsp light soy sauce

tsp rice vinegar (or Chinese black vinegar)

tsp sesame oil

tsp sugar (or honey)

tbsp hot water (or to taste, preferably from boiling the noodles)

Cook noodles according to package instructions, reserving some of the hot water for the sauce. Drain and rinse the noodles under ice-cold water, carefully tossing them to cool evenly. Drain well and place in a bowl.

Combine all sauce ingredients in a bowl. Garnish the noodles with cucumber, cilantro, green onion, chili oil, and/or crushed sesame seeds, and pour the sauce on top. Mix well to combine and serve immediately. Enjoy!

Cook noodles per packet directions. Drain then briefly rinse under tap to stop them sticking together.

Place Sauce ingredients in a bowl. Mix until smooth – microwave briefly if required to assist.

Place the noodles in a large bowl, add shallots, dressing, sesame seeds and peanuts if using. Toss well. Garnish with more sesame seeds. Serve warm or at room temperature.
