Step 1
Start by pre-heating your oven to 180c/350f. Also line a large baking tray with baking paper, leave this aside.
Step 2
In a large bowl, add the softened butter, brown sugar, honey, vanilla and salt. Beat all this together for about 2 minutes.
Step 3
Spread a thin layer of this mixture onto your bread slices. Make sure to cover each side of the slices, including the edges.
Step 4
Place these onto your baking paper lined tray, then bake in your pre-heated oven for 15 minutes.
Step 5
After 15 minutes, take them out and flip them over. Then place them back into your oven for 5-10 minutes, or until they're a light caramel colour.
Step 6
Take them out of the oven, then leave them on the tray for 5 minutes to cool down.
Step 7
After 5 minutes, they will still be very soft. Transfer them to a wire rack, then leave them to cool until the outside hardens. This should take about 10-15 minutes.
Step 8
Once the outside is crispy, they are ready. Enjoy!
