Crunchy Cabbage Salad

Prep the vegetables

Shred the cabbage as finely as possible. Grate the carrots and slice the green onion. Pull the cilantro leaves from the stems

Combine vegetables

Add the shredded cabbage, carrots, green onion, cilantro, and peanuts to a large bowl. Toss to combine.

Make dressing

To make the dressing, add the salad oil, rice vinegar, soy sauce, honey, tahini, toasted sesame oil, garlic, and ginger to a blender. Blend until the dressing is smooth and creamy.

Add dressing and serve

When you&#039;re ready to eat, drizzle the dressing over the salad and toss until coated. Serve immediately

Toss cabbage, carrots, bell pepper, green onions, cilantro and shredded chicken in a large salad bowl or the salad chopper bowl. Toss with dressing to taste.

Portion salad on a plate. Top with sliced avocado and chopped almonds.

This was such an amazing salad and dressing recipe! All of the flavors blended together so well from the dressing and gave the perfect crunch, and was a great mix of sweet and savory, with a little kick from the chili pepper in the dressing! I am a Slaw Snob and this was delicious and easy to make!  It's fresh, light and not weighed down with mayo.  I had a small head of cabbage, so I adjusted the amount of the other ingredients  to suit my tastes.  It is key to allow the cabbage to be salted and drained before using - yes, it does keep it crunchy.  I served it with some BBQ boneless short ribs.  Would pair well with fish tacos or pulled pork tacos.

It is a really good refreshing salad. I do not use celery as my kid is allergic, but it has a perfect combination of flavours.

Easy Healthy Quinoa Cabbage Salad

¼ cups cooked quinoa ((see Notes below))

black beans,

roasted sunflower seeds ((see Notes below))

apple cider vinegar

tbsp. + 1 tsp balsamic vinegar

tbsp. honey or sugar

salt

garlic, minced ((or 1/4 tsp. granulated garlic))

Add all of the salad ingredients to a bowl.

Whisk together dressing ingredients.

Add the dressing to the cabbage salad and toss together until everything is fully mixed.

Prepare the lemon garlic vinaigrette first. Combine the olive oil, lemon juice, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper in a bowl or jar. Whisk until combined, or close the jar and shake until combined. Set the dressing aside.

Dice the bell pepper and chop the parsley. Add the coleslaw mix (shredded cabbage and carrots), bell pepper, black olives (drained), banana peppers, feta, and parsley in a large bowl.

Pour the vinaigrette over the salad ingredients then toss until everything is combined and coated in dressing. Let the slaw sit for 15 minutes before serving. Stir one last time just before serving to redistribute the vinaigrette.

This classic coleslaw is the perfect side dish for a barbecue, alongside fried chicken, or on top of a classic pulled pork sandwich.

Memphis-Style Coleslaw

In a small mixing bowl combine mayo, mustard, vinegar, sugar, salt, onion, and celery seed.

In a large mixing bowl, combine shredded cabbage, carrots, and green pepper.  Toss with dressing and for best results refrigerate for 2-3 hours before using.

CRUNCHY THAI STYLE CABBAGE SALAD

cabbage (thinly sliced)

spring onions (thinly sliced)

sunflower seeds

sesame seeds

pepitas/pumpkin seeds

sesame oil

lemon juice

soy sauce

tahini (hulled and runny)

orange juice (freshly squeezed)

coconut sugar

ginger (grated)

Place cabbage, carrot, spring onion, coriander and chilli in a large bowl.

Toast sunflower, sesame and pumpkin seeds on medium-low heat in a heavy-bottomed frying pan. Toss to ensure the seeds don’t burn. Remove from heat when sesame seeds are starting to turn golden and seeds are aromatic.

Add toasted seeds to the cabbage in the bowl.

Add sesame oil, lemon juice, soy sauce, tahini, orange juice, coconut sugar, ginger and salt in a medium bowl. Mix well with a metal spoon to remove all lumps and create a creamy dressing.

Add dressing to the salad and mix well.

Salad keeps well in the fridge for up to 3 days.

This back-of-packet salad from the packet of Chang&#039;s Crispy Noodles is an Aussie staple! I&#039;ve tweaked the dressing slightly to make it less oily and reduce the sugar, and it&#039;s still just as good in my opinion.Serve with everything - it might have Asian roots, but it appears at every backyard BBQ alongside snags, steaks and kebabs!

Chang's Crispy Noodle Salad

Chinese cabbage (wombok),

grams/ 3.5 ounces Chang's crispy noodles ((store bought,

grams/ 3.5 ounces slivered almonds

tbsp white vinegar ((just ordinary vinegar, nothing fancy!))

tbsp white sugar ((or brown))

soy sauce (, all purpose or light, NOT dark soy sauce)

tsp sesame oil (, toasted (brown, not yellow untoasted))

olive oil

Toast almonds: Lightly toast the slivered almonds in a small skillet over medium heat until lightly browned (no oil). Remove immediately and let cool.

Dressing: Shake Dressing ingredients in a jar until sugar is dissolved. (This keeps for 3 weeks!)

Shred cabbage: Cut cabbage (see photos in post, helpful): cut 1 slit down the middle lengthwise (or 2, if it&#039;s giant like the one I used). Then finely slice so it&#039;s shredded. Just use the top 1/2 - 2/3, mostly leafy part. Reserve the thick crunchy white part for another use (excellent in stir fries!).

Toss everything except crispy noodles: Place cabbage in a big bowl with toasted almonds and green onions. Pour over Dressing, toss well.

Add crispy noodles! Toss through noodles just before serving so they stay crisp!

Goes with practically anything. Think of it like Coleslaw - minus the mayo dressing. Great with light foods like seafood, and refreshing with hearty foods like stews and roasts. Shake Dressing ingredients in a jar. Start with 1 1/2 tbsp sugar and adjust to taste.

Place Salad ingredients in a large bowl. Pour over Dressing, toss. Set aside 20 minutes - mound will reduce by almost half and become juicy! Serve.

Addictive Asian Cabbage Salad

cabbage (roughly 1/2 head)

mandarin oranges (drained)

romaine lettuce (chopped)

almonds (toasted)

rice wine vinegar

raw honey (or sub date syrup)

sea salt

sriracha (or other chili sauce)

After chopping the veggies, add the cabbage, carrots, and mandarin oranges to a bowl or storage container.

Add all the dressing ingredients together in a jar, and shake well until the honey is combined.

Pour about ½-3/4 of the dressing over the cabbage mixture, and put in the fridge until ready to serve. You can also serve it immediately.

Keep the romaine and red bell peppers stored separately until right before serving.

Toast the sliced almonds and sesame seeds in a small frying pan over medium heat. Stir frequently until the nuts are lightly browned. Be careful not to burn (I've done that many times!).

Mix the romaine and peppers with the cabbage mixture, and top with almonds and sesame seeds, right before serving.

Add more dressing if desired, or serve the extra dressing on the side.

Make the mustard vinaigrette. In a small bowl, whisk together the Dijon mustard, lime juice, garlic, olive oil, and spices.

Add beets to a sheet pan lined with parchment paper. Bake for 30 minutes.
