<em>This recipe is for whole baked apples stuffed with buttery brown sugar oat crumble. For extra flavor, feel free to swap the water with warm apple cider.</em>

Baked Apples

3 Tablespoons (43 grams) unsalted butter, softened

1/4 cup (50 grams) packed light or dark brown sugar

cinnamon

nutmeg

1/4 cup (20 grams) old-fashioned whole rolled oats

large apples (see note),

Tablespoons raisins, dried cranberries, or chopped nuts

3/4 cup (180 milliliters) warm water

Using a handheld or stand mixer with a paddle attachment, or simply using a fork or spoon, beat/mash the butter, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg together until combined. Stir in the oats, then the raisins/dried cranberries/nuts, if using. Set aside.

Core the apples: 

This can be tricky, but I recommend using a sharp paring knife and a spoon. (Or an apple corer.) I find cookie scoops can easily break or crack the apples. Using a sharp paring knife, cut around the core, about halfway or 3/4 down into the apple. Use a spoon to carefully dig out the core. Takes a bit of patience and arm muscle. Once the core is out, use a spoon to dig out any more seeds.

Place cored apples in an 8-inch or 9-inch baking pan, cake pan, or pie dish. Spoon filling into each apple, filling all the way to the top. Pour warm water into the pan around the apples. The water helps prevent the apples from drying out and burning.

Bake for 40-45 minutes or until apples appear slightly soft. Bake longer for softer, mushier baked apples. The time depends on how firm your apples were and how soft you want them to be.

Remove apples from the oven and, if desired, baste the outside of the apples with juices from the pan. This adds a little moisture to the skin, but it&#8217;s completely optional.

Serve warm with salted caramel, whipped cream, or ice cream. Cover and store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.

I made these while my husband at work. I have to admit, the temptation of eating his share before he got home (after eating my own) was real! I wish I would have baked the full batch rather than a half-batch!

Coring the apple was not too hard, and the recipe certainly came together quickly. I used 2 Gala apples, which worked out great; I only needed to bake them for 35 minutes. I added a touch of pumpkin pie spice and granola to the filling and served it with homemade salted caramel sauce—the perfect finishing touch!

The apples were such a warm delicious treat and very easy to make! Next time I'll use bigger apples and core out the bottom, and get some caramel sauce! Yum!

Easy Cinnamon Baked Apples requiring simple ingredients and 1 bowl, plus naturally sweetened! The perfect grain- and gluten-free plant-based dessert for the holidays and beyond!

Easy Cinnamon Baked Apples

apples

lemon juice

Tbsp coconut oil ((optional))

coconut sugar

tsp fresh grated ginger*

cornstarch

apple juice

sea salt

Whipped Cream

Vanilla Bean Coconut Ice Cream*

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (176 C) and set out a 9x13-inch (or similar size) baking dish.

Peel and core apples, quarter, and use a paring knife to thinly slice lengthwise (see photo). The thinner the better! Just try to be consistent so they cook evenly.

Add to baking dish and top with lemon juice, coconut oil (optional), coconut sugar, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cornstarch (or arrowroot), apple juice (or water), and a healthy pinch of salt. Toss to combine. Then loosely cover with foil.

Bake for 45 minutes (covered). Then carefully remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes or until the apples are very fork tender (especially in the center of the dish) and slightly caramelized (see photo).

Enjoy as is or with Coconut Whipped Cream or Vanilla Bean Coconut Ice Cream! Best when fresh, though leftovers keep covered in the refrigerator up to 3-4 days or in the freezer up to 1 month. Reheat in the microwave or in a 350-degree F (176 C) oven (covered) until warmed through. Add a bit of water if the "caramel" sauce is too thick.

Apple Crisp Apples = Your New Favorite Fall Recipe

Baked apples and pears are cooked in maple syrup sauce with cinnamon, ginger, and sprigs of fresh thyme.

Baked Apples and Pears with Thyme and Maple

grapeseed oil oil

Preheat oven to 375º F.&nbsp;

Heat oil in a Dutch oven or oven-safe skillet on the stovetop over medium heat. Spread apples and pears in a single layer flesh-side down in the Dutch oven or skillet. Cook 5 minutes, or until the flesh is golden brown.

Stir in maple syrup, ginger, cinnamon, thyme, and salt. Cover and transfer to the oven. Bake 30 minutes, or until the fruit is tender and has a strong, spiced aroma.

Transfer baked apples and pears to a serving dish and garnish with additional fresh thyme leaves if desired.

Peel the apples, core, and cut into wedges. 8-10 wedges per apple.

Place all the ingredients in an electric pressure cooker. Stir to coat the apples.

Lock the lid into place and close the steam valve.

Set the digital pressure cooker to "steam" or pressure cook for 1 minute. (The pressure cooker will take several minutes to heat before the timer starts.)

Once the timer goes off, release the steam valve and wait for the safety button to drop. Carefully open the lid.&nbsp;

Gently stir the apples. Then serve warm as a side dish with chicken or pork chops, or as a topping for ice cream or pound cake.&nbsp;

Delightfully Baked Apples

tbsp brown sugar (unpacked)

tbsp all purpose or gluten-free flour

tbsp quick oats*

Preheat oven to 350ºF.

Cut apples in half and remove core and seeds with a small pairing knife or spoon.

In a small bowl combine butter, brown sugar, flour, oats and cinnamon. Spoon on top of the apple halves and sprinkle with cinnamon.

Place on a cookie sheet and bake in the oven for 30 minutes.

Serve warm with a scoop of ice cream if desired.

water (very hot)

Preheat oven to 350F. In a medium bowl mix together the brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and pecans. Set aside.

Use a round teaspoon to scoop out the center of the apple leaving half an inch or more of the bottom. The well you create in each apple should be about an inch in diameter.

Fill each apple with the brown sugar mixture, drizzle an equal amount of vanilla in each, and top with a pat of butter.

Place the apples into a square baking dish and carefully pour the HOT water into the dish.

Bake apples at 350F for about 50 minutes. The apples should be softened and tender but not falling apart.

These EASY baked apples filled with a sweet, richly-spiced mixture of brown sugar and pecans are a quick and delicious autumnal treat. 

If cobbler is apple pie’s less fussy friend then baked apples are their freewheeling easy-going cousin. ULTRA-easy to make with almost no cleanup after and they are DELICIOUS! I love packing mine with crunchy pecans and lots of tasty fall spices.

EASY Baked Apples Recipe

All of the sweet and caramely goodness of a traditional apple crisp, stuffed and baked inside fresh Autumn apples with the best crumble topping. Top it off with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce for an incredible fall treat everyone will go crazy for!

Apple Crisp Stuffed Baked Apples

apples ((I used fuji apples))

flour

oats

sugar

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.&nbsp;First, prepare the crumble topping. In a medium bowl whisk together flour, oats, brown sugar, sugar, salt, and cinnamon. Cut in the butter with a pastry knife, or two forks, or with your hands until mixture is crumbly. Set aside.

Peel and chop 4 of the apples. Add chopped apples, butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon to a medium sauce pan and sauté over medium heat for 8-10 minutes or until apples are tender. Remove from heat.

Chop the tops off of the remaining 4 apples and use a spoon to scoop out the flesh. Discard the flesh or save it for another recipe.(See Note) You don't need to get every little bit out, just enough to make a "bowl" for the filling.

Fill scooped-out apples with apple filling from the sauce pan. Top with a generous amount of crumble topping.

Place stuffed apples on a baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes until crumble topping is crispy. Serve warm and top with ice cream and caramel sauce if desired. Enjoy!

Oatmeal Crumble Baked Apples

Gala Apples*

Cup Old Fashioned Oats

½ Cup All Purpose Flour

Brown Sugar

Sugar

Cinnamon

Nutmeg

Butter (at room temperature)

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

Wash and cut the tops of the apples off.

Using a melon baller or a spoon, remove the insides of the apples, leaving only a small, 1/2 inch border.

In a large bowl, mix the oats, flour, sugars, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt together.

Then, using your hands or a fork, mix in the butter until the mixture forms a light crumble.

Fill the apples with the crumble to the top and slightly overflowing.

Place them in a 9x13 baking dish, or a smaller pan.

Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the apples are soft on the outside and are a light golden color.

Serve with whip topping, ice cream, and caramel sauce.

Healthy, wholesome Instant Pot Hasselback Apples is a dessert for everyday!

Instant Pot Hasselback Apples - Healthy Dessert!

coconut oil, melted

vanilla extract

creamy almond butter or peanut butter (see note)

kosher salt

¼ cup old fashioned oats

roasted pecans, chopped (see note)

white whole wheat flour (any flour will work)

unsweetened shredded coconut

Wash and peel 3 apples.  Use an apple corer to remove the center (alternatively you can use a spoon or melon baller to scrape out the center after you cut the apples in half)

Cut apples in half from top to bottom and lay them cut side down.

Use a sharp knife to carefully cut ¼ inch slices into, but not all the way through, the apple.

In a small bowl, whisk together the Caramel Sauce ingredients

Brush half of the caramel sauce over the apples.  Reserve the rest.

Add 1 cup of water to the pressure cooker pot and place a short trivet inside.

Place 3 ramekins on the trivet, then stack the remaining ramekins 3 ramekins on top (do not stack them directly on top of the bottom ramekins, but on the rims &#8211; see picture above for example).

Secure the lid and turn pressure release knob to a sealed position.  Cook at high pressure for 4 &#8211; 5 minutes (4 for tender crisp, 5 for soft).

While the apples are cooking, toss together the oats, pecans, flour, and optional coconut for the oat topping.  Add the remaining caramel sauce and stir to combine. 

When pressure cooking is complete, use a quick release.

Optional: Use your oven broiler or Mealthy CrispLid to brown the oat topping.  If using the CrispLid, cook at 300 degrees for about 3 minutes or until it is browned to your liking.

Top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or fresh whipped cream and serve immediately.

Simple and special, these golden, sticky apples cry out for lashings of cream.
