This creamy Shrimp Curry Recipe is an easy, comforting weeknight dinner that is packed with healthy, filling ingredients. The whole family will love this flavorful dinner! 

Shrimp Curry Recipe

shrimp

kosher salt & ground pepper (to taste)

lime

olive oil

shallots (finely chopped)

red bell pepper (sliced)

ginger

garlic

curry powder

chili flakes (or

cumin

turmeric

tomatoes (one can)

coconut milk (one can)

cornstarch

cilantro (chopped to garnish)

Peel and devein the shrimps. Add lime juice and season with a pinch of salt; mix well and refrigerate until ready to use.

Finely chop the shallots and slice the bell pepper. Grate the ginger and mince the garlic.

Heat a heavy saucepan over medium-high heat. Add oil and heat until shimmering hot.

Add shallots and garlic; sauté for 1 minute. Stir in bell pepper and ginger, cook for 2 minutes more until slightly golden.

Add in the spices, diced tomatoes, and milk, reduce the heat to low, and let simmer until tomatoes are softened and flavors meld for about 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, in a small mixing bowl, combine cornstarch with 1 tablespoon of water, stir until smooth paste forms.

Pour the slurry into the shrimp curry and simmer until the consistency is as desired.

Place the shrimps into the curry and continue cooking for 4-5 minutes more until shrimps are opaque and cooked through.

Transfer the curry to a large serving bowl. Garnish with cilantro leaves. Serve with lime wedges and cooked rice if desired.

Melt the butter in a skillet over medium high heat and then stir in the garlic. Cook this for about 30 seconds.

Add the shrimp to the skillet and season it with salt and pepper. Cook the shrimp for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until the shrimp begins to turn pink.

Take the shrimp off the heat and stir in the lemon juice. If you&#x27;d like it extra buttery, you can add more butter now as well.

Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve.

Salt and pepper the shrimp.  In a medium sized bowl combine olive oil, red wine vinegar, garlic, Italian seasoning, lemon juice, soy sauce, Dijon Mustard and Worcestershire sauce.  Add the shrimp and let marinate for at least one hour or overnight.

Preheat grill to medium high heat.  Thread the shrimp on the skewers.  Pllace on the grill. Grill on each side for about two minutes or until no longer pink.

Easy to make and tasty shrimp recipe that&#x27;s ready in 20 minutes.

Szechuan Shrimp Stir Fry

½ lb Raw Jumbo Shrimp (peeled and deveined)

Sesame oil

Bell Peppers (different colors, chopped)

½ Cup Snap Peas

Green Onions (sliced to 1.5-inch pieces, plus more to garnish)

Tsp Sesame Seeds

¼ Cup Reduced Sodium Soy Sauce

Tbsp Maple Syrup

Tbsp Rice Vinegar

Garlic Cloves (pressed)

Tsp Sriracha Sauce

½ Tsp Chili Flakes

½ Tsp Chinese Five Spice Powder

½ Tsp Ground Ginger Powder

½ Tbsp Cornstarch

Start by making the Szechuan sauce. In a small bowl, whisk together all the ingredients, then set aside.

Heat oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat, then add veggies and stir fry for 3-4 minutes.

Stir in shrimp and continue to stir fry for 2 minutes, or until shrimp starts to curl.

Add in the Szechuan sauce and cook for 2-3 minutes more, until shrimp is fully cooked through and sauce thickens.

Sprinkle with chopped green onions and sesame seeds and serve. Enjoy!

I love this recipe! Im a big fan of any sauce that has wine with it! My  only question is in any case needed, is there something to sub the wine?

This recipe is excellent!  I sometimes use mixed seafood.  I love to cook with Bare foot wine.   The wine is key.   LOL Why consider a recipe named with white wine when you don’t care to use it.

Linguine is my go to pasta for dishes like this! Love it! The wine and shrimp makes this meal perfect for special occasions too! Pinned!

Just made this recipe and it came out delicious! Next time I’ll do it the 2nd way (with just citrus), but I found this recipe last minute and only had enough time to poach the shrimp then let it marinate 1hr in the citrus juice. I didn’t have all the ingredients on hand, but this still came out yummy! (We were missing jalapeños, cucumbers, and orange juice). Again, everything still came out wonderfully! My bf, who has tried ceviche several times but never enjoyed it, really liked this recipe (even with the missing ingredients). And he’s picky. So that’s saying something! Will definitely make again next week and this time with all the ingredients/marinating in citrus juices for 4hrs.

Creamy Chipotle Shrimp

olive oil (divided)

red bell pepper (seeds removed and roughly chopped)

green onions

Cook Shrimp

Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a saute pan on medium heat. Add the shrimp and saute for 3-4 minutes, or until the shrimp are cooked through and opaque. Remove them to a bowl.

Saute Pepper

In that same pan, add another tablespoon of olive oil and add the bell pepper and saute for 4-5 minutes.

Saute

Then add the garlic, white parts of the green onion, salt and pepper. Stir for another 2 minutes.

Pour

Pour in the chipotle sauce and milk and stir to combine. Then add the shrimp back to the pan to warm through.

Garnish

Garnish with the green parts of the green onion, chopped cilantro and sliced jalapeno pepper.

I would think coconut milk instead of cream might work. Also, for those who are not a fan of spicy food, one could use a bit of chipotle powder instead of the real thing.
My wife can't deal with the heat.

Wow...this was amazing.  I used a 3/4 C from a can of coconut cream (used 1/2 thick and 1/2 watery part) instead of dairy cream, and did have to thicken the sauce with a little arrowroot powder (or cornstarch).  I used the rest of the can of coconut cream and water to make the rice.  Heavenly!!  (also...I freeze the rest of the can of chipotle peppers for later use and they always hold up great).

I did shrimp for me and chicken for the shrimp-haters in my house.

This turned out great! Five stars for prepping everything in 15 minutes while my baby napped and then spending another 15 cooking it after putting her to bed. I think making the cucumbers a few hours ahead made them that much better. They got pickly instead of more salad like and added a very unique pop. Loved having something new that actually was so easy! Great with brown rice.

We tried this for the first time and it was delicious!  With the one chipotle pepper it packed some kick, which we loved.  I sub'd chicken for shrimp, as I didn't have shrimp on-hand, cut into 2 inch pieces -- it was yummy.   I do plan doing the shrimp version.  Also, did half-n-half instead of heavy cream with an 1/8 cup or less of melted butter.  I do plan on trying the recipe with shrimp.  This will be a regular rotation dinner item from now on.  Thank you such an easy to prepare and great tasting recipe.

I made this tonight. I think the flavors had great potential but the orange zest made the sauce have a bitter aftertaste. I used the zest of a whole orange...did I misinterpret the recipe? Should I have used less zest?

Once again, POY wins at dinner! Made this tonight with boneless chicken thighs (because I’m shrimp averse) SO GOOD! The sauce flavors are zesty and spicey and creamy. I did 5 minutes on each side for the chicken then add the sauce and simmered for 5 minutes. And you can’t forget the cucumber, perfect addition

I made this for dinner and then had leftovers for lunch and it was so good I can't stop thinking about it!! I never leave reviews. Instead of cucumbers, I served with sauteed Asian greens. Make it!

This was a big hit last night with the family. My husband made it in my absence and I came home to rave reviews.

Made this tonight and it was yummy.  I did take the shrimp out of the sauce for a bit and thickened up the sauce for our taste and then put them back in but other than that stuck to the recipe including the juice of the orange into the cooked rice.  Pinch of yum never disappoints.  Will be making this again.

I made this last night and it was wonderful! I made the dairy free version and used a bit less than a teaspoon of dried chipotle pepper. Since our kids aren’t fans of vinegar I treated the cucumbers with a dash of sugar and lime juice and it still turned out great! This recipe will be going into our regular rotation for quick meals. Made this for dinner tonight and the flavors are amazing!  I used basamati instead of jasmine rice, and followed another commenter to let the cucumber sit in the marinade for a few hours. This recipe will definitely be on repeat!
