Homemade Curry Powder Spice Mix

Coriander powder

Cumin powder

Turmeric powder

tbsp Cayenne (mild

tbsp Smoked sweet paprika (for color)

tsp Ground ginger

Pepper powder

tbsp Dry coriander seeds

tbsp Dry cumin seeds

Dry whole paprika (hot or mild)

Dry smoked paprika (Sweet for color)

Black peppercorns

Combine all the spices in a small spice jar. Give it a good mix.

Store at room temperature for up to 3 months.

For ground spices

Add the whole paprika in a frying pan and toast them over med-low heat for a minute.

Then add the whole spices and toast them for a minute more until fragrant. 

 You will start to get the beautiful aroma of spices 

Take it off the heat and let cool until barely warm.&nbsp;

Place all the whole and powder spices in a spice blender and blend until smooth

Pulse it a few times until finely ground.

Store in an airtight spice jar for up to three months.

For whole spices

Shawarma Spiced Grilled Vegetables

Blend all spices in a spice grinder or food processor until fully blended, about 30 seconds.

The ingredient ratios are easy to remember, so go ahead and make a big batch and use it any way you like to make flavorful curry dishes! EASY - This recipe is very easy to make and is the flavor base for many Sri Lankan curries. It&#039;s a fantastic recipe for anyone who wants to learn more about Sri Lankan cuisine, or just loves to make Sri Lankan food frequently.

Sri Lankan Roasted Curry powder

coriander seeds

tbsp cumin seeds

tbsp black peppercorns

tbsp basmati rice

tbsp black mustard seeds

cardamom seeds

Place the rice on a dry non stick pan. Heat over medium heat until the rice starts to turn light brown.

Add the rest of the spices and pan roast for a further 3 - 5 minutes until the spices start to brown, toast and become aromatic.

Keep moving the pan to prevent the spices from burning.  Also adjust the cook times according to your stove and pan, to avoid burning the spices. Or your curry powder will be bitter.

Remove from the heat and let the spices cool down.

Once the spices cool down - use a spice grinder (or a mortar and pestle) to grind the spice mix into a powder in batches and mix well. Store in an air tight container.

Use as needed.

If you are a cheese lover, this cheese spread is a perfect snack. The recipe is originally from La Gomera, the second-smallest of the main islands in Spain’s Canary Island chain. If you don't have mature goat cheese, this recipe works well with any hard and mature cheese.

700 g (about 3 cups) grated Hard goat cheese

rehydrated Choricero peppers

(about 1 g) rehydrated Nora peppers

60 ml (about 55 g) Olive oil

350 g (about 1 ½ cups) Hard goat cheese

½ teaspoon (about 3 g) Sriracha sauce

<p>Make your own spice mix using storecupboard staples. Use in fajitas instead of a ready-made spice mix, or rub onto meats and vegetables for an extra dose of flavour in other meals</p>

Fajita seasoning

½ tbsp hot chilli powder

<p>Put all the ingredients in a bowl and mix to combine.&nbsp;Tip into a small jar or container and store in a dark, cool place. Use as you wish, adding&nbsp;1&nbsp;tsp at a time to a dish according to taste.</p>

199 g (about 10) sliced Shiitake mushrooms

(about 100 g) sliced Carrot

(about 410 g) sliced Asparagus

g (about 2) grated Garlic

(about 6 g) grated Ginger

(about 14 g) Coconut oil

(about 30 g) Thai red curry paste

(about 960 g) room temperature Vegetable stock

13.5 fl oz (about 405 g) Coconut milk

114 g (about ½ cup) Rice noodles
