Crispy Roasted Chickpeas

Extra-virgin olive oil (for drizzling)

Paprika (curry powder, or other spices (optional))

Preheat the oven to 400F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

Spread the chickpeas on a kitchen towel and pat them dry. Remove any loose skins.

Transfer the dried chickpeas to the baking sheet and toss them with a drizzle of olive oil and generous pinches of salt.

Roast the chickpeas for 20 to 30 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp. Ovens can vary, if your chickpeas are not crispy enough, keep going until they are!

Remove from the oven and, while the chickpeas are still warm, toss with pinches of your favorite spices, if using.

Store roasted chickpeas in a loosely-covered container at room temperature. They are best used within two days.

A moreish vegan snack, flavoured with smoked paprika, cumin and coriander. Simply spice, roast and get stuck in!

Heat oven to 180C/160C fan/gas 4. Tip the chickpeas into a bowl and toss with the rapeseed oil, smoked paprika, cumin and coriander. Toss well until the chickpeas are well coated, then tip out onto a baking tray and bake for 35 mins, moving them round the tray halfway through so they dry out evenly and are crunchy. Leave to cool, then store in an airtight container.

Crunchy Maple Cinnamon Chickpeas

1 (19 oz/540 ml) chickpeas, rinsed,

tbsp ml) vegetable oil

With the rack in the middle position, preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. 

On the baking sheet, toss the chickpeas with the oil. Lightly season with salt.  

Bake for 40 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes, or until the chickpeas are golden brown and split open. 

Remove from the oven and add the maple syrup, maple sugar and cinnamon. Stir well. Turn off the oven. Return the chickpeas to the oven and let dry for 5 minutes. Let cool completely at room temperature. The chickpeas will keep for 2 weeks in an airtight container at room temperature.

Crunchy Roasted Chickpeas

15 chickpeas

½ tsp ground cumin

½ tsp smoked paprika

garlic powder

onion powder

¼ tsp ground corriander

sea salt

tsp black pepper

olive oil

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

Lightly spray a baking sheet with non-stick spray. Set aside.

Rinse and thoroughly dry the chickpeas.

In a small bowl, mix together cumin, paprika, garlic powder, sea salt, onion powder and pepper. Set aside.

Bake dried chickpeas in the preheated oven on prepared baking sheet for 15 minutes (do not add any of the other ingredients yet)!

Remove the chickpeas from the oven and drizzle ½ TBS olive oil over the chickpeas, stirring until evenly coated. If necessary, slowly add more olive oil until all the chickpeas are lightly coated with olive oil.

Add spices to chickpeas and stir until evenly coated.

Bake at 400 for 10 more minutes, then stir.

Return stirred chickpeas to the oven and bake them for an additional 5-10 minutes, until desired crispiness is achieved (a total of 35-40 minutes of baking).

Turn off oven and crack the door a bit.  Let chickpeas cool in the oven to achieve maximum crispiness

Crunchy Roasted Chickpeas Recipe

Chickpeas roasted to cinnamon-spiced perfection. Crunchy, sweet, healthy, vegan, gluten-free and definitely irresistible!

Roasted Cinnamon-Sugar Chickpeas

(15-ounce) can chickpeas (garbanzo beans)

Tablespoons sugar brown sugar

Preheat oven to 400°F (204°C). Line a large baking sheet with a silicone baking mat. Set aside.

In a large strainer, rinse and drain the chickpeas very well to remove the starch. Spread them out onto prepared baking sheet and pat very, very dry. The drier the chickpeas, the crunchier they will be. The skin of the bean may peel off as you pat them dry. That is ok. You may remove the skins or leave them on. I like to remove them, but that takes time and is not mandatory.

Once 100% dry, place chickpeas into the oven and roast for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, remove from the oven and drizzle with olive oil. Using a large spoon or spatula, mix the beans around to make sure they are all evenly coated. Mix the cinnamon and sugar together and sprinkle over beans. Mix around very well to heavily coat each bean. The beans will be flavorless, so you want to make sure each one is thoroughly coated. Add more cinnamon-sugar if you&#8217;d like. Place back into the oven and roast for another 15 minutes.

With the chickpeas inside, turn the oven off and crack open the door slightly. Allow the chickpeas to sit inside as the oven cools down for 30 minutes. This will help them get crunchier as opposed to sitting at room temperature. Chickpeas are crunchiest on day 1. Store at room temperature.

These roasted chickpeas make such a delicious and healthy snack! They're perfectly seasoned, a bit spicy, and super easy to prepare. They're perfect for parties, snacking in front of the TV, road trips, and so much more!

Roasted Chickpeas

Drain the canned chickpeas. Then dry them really well using a clean dishtowel. Just gently roll them between the dishtowel. You could also use paper towel.

In a medium bowl, toss the chickpeas with olive oil. We'll add the spices after baking because they have a tendency to burn. So don't worry about them for now.

Preheat your oven to 350 °F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread the chickpeas on the baking sheet and bake for 25 minutes.

Then take the chickpeas out of the oven and place them in the bowl you used before. Add the spices and toss well until the chickpeas are coated evenly.

Return them to the baking sheet and bake for another 10 minutes until they're browned and crunchy.

The secret to getting them extra crispy is to dry roast them first, and then season them at the last minute. This is an easy to make, healthy, vegan, 5 ingredient snack that everyone will love.&nbsp;

Crispy Crunchy Roasted Chickpeas

19 ounces can chickpeas, (drained and rinsed)

Preheat your oven to 375F (190C).

Spread the chickpeas in a single layer on a baking sheet. It&#x27;s ok if they are still a bit wet, they will dry out in the oven. Bake 30 minutes, stopping to shake the pan every now and then. *Make sure you do shake the pan once or twice when the chickpeas are baking, this helps them dry out properly and get crispy.

Remove the chickpeas from the oven and carefully add the hot chickpeas to a bowl along with the olive oil, chili powder, thyme, and salt. Toss well to coat the chickpeas evenly.&nbsp;Spread the seasoned chickpeas back onto the baking sheet and return to the oven for another 10 to 15 minutes until they are golden and crispy. Remove from the oven and let cool a bit before enjoying. You can snack on them still warm, or completely cooled.

Crunchy roasted chickpeas are packed with fiber and nutrients, and easy to make at home.

Arrange chickpeas in a single layer on a baking sheet and roast for 30-35 minutes, shaking the pan every ten minutes. They will be golden brown and crunchy on the inside when done, not moist. Watch carefully so they don't burn.

In a medium bowl, combine the salt and garlic powder.

Remove chickpeas from the oven when done and toss with 2 teaspoons of extra virgin olive oil. Immediately toss with seasoning while hot.

Cool before serving.

Crispy Air Fryer Chickpeas

Prep: Drain and pat chickpeas dry with a paper towel. Toss together with oil and salt (or your chosen seasoning).

Cook: Spread in a single layer in your air fryer basket or rack. Cook at 390°F (200°C) for 8 to 10 minutes, or until crispy and lightly browned.

Crispy BBQ Roasted Chickpeas

can chickpeas ((very well drained + thoroughly dried))

Tbsp avocado oil

maple syrup

tsp chili powder

tsp sea salt

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (176 C) and set out a bare (or parchment-lined) baking sheet (or more as needed).

Drain chickpeas well. If using oil, rinse well with water and thoroughly drain. If omitting oil, simply drain well and skip rinsing with water.

Once drained well, spread the chickpeas out on a clean, absorbent towel and use your hands to gently roll and dry the chickpeas. Some of the skins should start coming off. You can opt to peel all of the chickpeas — which can help for extra crispiness! — or simply remove the skins that come off. Either way, the chickpeas will crisp up. I just found that peeling them does yield slightly crispier chickpeas.

Transfer the chickpeas to a mixing bowl and top with oil. Mix well to combine. DO NOT add the other seasonings at this point — they can interrupt the crisping process, so wait to add until after baking.

Bake for 45 minutes or until golden brown and dry/crispy to the touch. We like turning the pan around and shaking the chickpeas around the halfway point for even cooking. Note: Peeled chickpeas cook faster than unpeeled. If omitting oil, they will also cook faster.

Remove your chickpeas from the oven and prepare your BBQ seasoning. In a medium-size mixing bowl, combine the maple syrup, smoked paprika, chili powder, garlic powder, sea salt, black pepper, and cayenne (optional) until a paste forms.

Pour in your still-warm chickpeas and toss gently to evenly coat them with the seasoning mixture. Place them back on the cookie sheet to cool fully and so the seasoning can dry/set.

Enjoy as a protein-rich snack or use atop things like grain bowls, kale salads, or our easy and summery chopped salad (recipe coming soon)! To store, place in a storage container or jar and DO NOT tightly cover. Instead, crack lid so they can “breathe” a bit. This helps them stay crispy longer. These are best the first day, but they will last for 4-5 days at room temperature. Alternatively, seal well and freeze up to 1 month.

In a medium bowl, toss chickpeas with melted coconut oil, honey, cinnamon, and salt until well-coated.

Easy Roasted Chickpeas (that STAY CRISPY!)

Preheat the oven to 400˚F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Strain and dry the chickpeas. Chickpeas that are wet or damp won&#039;t crisp up well, and if they do, they won&#039;t stay that way into the next day.

Pro-Tip #1: Dry them by spreading the chickpeas on a clean, dry towel. Place another towel on top of them, and lightly but vigorously move the towel across the chickpeas. This rolls them around between the 2 towels, but doesn&#39;t squish them. It also removes some of the skins on the beans. Pull off any loose skins, and discard. It is NOT necessary to remove the skins from all of the beans, just the ones that easily fall off.

Pro-Tip #2: If the beans still feel wet, or if you live in a very humid area, or you use canned beans (which are much more moist) you will want to pre-dry them in the oven. I typically use my toaster oven for this while my larger oven preheats. Pre-dry at 300˚F for 5 - 7 minutes. If using canned beans, which are very wet, pre-dry for 15 minutes.

Spill the dried chickpeas onto the sheet pan. Toss with olive oil and salt. Spread the chickpeas as evenly as you can across the baking sheet in a single layer. They roast better if they&#039;re not all clumped together.

Pro-Tip #3: Don&#039;t be tempted to add additional spices yet, as they can burn and become bitter with roasting.

Roast for 15 minutes. Shake the pan, check the chickpeas for crispy-ness and roast for another 10 minutes, or until crispy. If they&#39;re not crunchy, continue to roast them a few more minutes. It may take longer to roast canned beans, even if you pre-dry them, since they are much wetter.

Remove the chickpeas from the oven and toss with the spices while the roasted chickpeas are still warm.
